Food was excellent, breakfast n lunch menu, didn't eat in the evening but I'm sure it would have been of same quality. Great atmosphere in the bar. Very comfy bed, very clean, new fittings in bathroom n new carpet. Staff were friendly n helpful, shout out to Kirsty in particular for her help.

The rooms are in the process of being updated so there was couple small issues but you can plainly see they're working very hard on making this a comfortable stay. Overall we had a good experience n if we return to the area would book another stay with them

The hotel is a 10-minute walk from the train station and easy to find. Check-in is convenient and quick, and the host is very quick to receive. The room was large, on the second floor, bright and spacious. There are three single beds of 0.8m, a small round dining table, two chairs, a writing desk and a wardrobe. The bathroom has a bathtub shower, a washbasin and a toilet. Towels and toiletries are provided. Slippers are not provided. There is a TV and tea kettle, no microwave or air conditioning. Complimentary tea, coffee, instant chocolate, cookies and other snacks for each guest in the room. Overall, I feel very satisfied.

Communal microwave ovens are recommended.

I stayed over for one night on business. I booked a normal double room. The room was a nice size, pleasant, bright and airy. It was clean and had clean bedding, towels and some toiletries also provided. There was good sized desk with tea, coffee and other drinks. The bed was a good size and comfy with variety of pillows. Fan was also provided as it was a hot day which kept the room cool. Bathroom was clean and well appointed. The pub itself (below) was not noisy at all. I have stayed in many other places in Cambridge that charge a similar rate and compared to these the room was much nicer. I would definitely stay here again.

TV was wonky on the wall, on closer inspection the bracket was broken. The pub is on a busy road. My room was at the front and there was traffic noise from around 6am but I expected this and it cannot be helped.

This is perfect if you want somewhere to stay for a few days in Cambridge. The Earl of Derby is a short walk from Cambridge Railway Station and close to bus stops for almost everywhere in the city and nearby. The city centre is about a 15-20 minute walk. There is guaranteed free parking outside the pub. The room was fine and very clean. As it is near a busy junction there is quite a bit of traffic noise, but not so much at night. The pub serves excellent breakfasts with as much coffee and tea as you can drink. The staff are very welcoming and friendly.

Nice sized room and large comfortable bed. We stayed a couple of nights while visiting the nearby Nuffield hospital which is an easy 15 minute walk. Good off road parking in a barriered area. The staff were friendly and helpful, Food was good tasty and reasonable prices. I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet our room was given that it was over the bar and overlooked the main road, and I will request a preference on that room when I make a return visit.

Rooms were well appointed and welcoming. It looked very much like the rooms had been recently upgraded. New carpets and curtains and freshly painted we thought. Nice clean shower and ensuite. Staff are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very good and very reasonably priced. It’s not a hotel but a quirky pub with rooms and was exactly what we expected. Car parking was extremely useful. Would definitely stay again.

Everything was great! Sure the decor is a bit old or whatever but the staff were really friendly and I was well looked after. The fact it's pretty much in the middle of Cambridge is excellent - I couldn't believe there weren't more people staying here. Breakfast was great too.

The decor and finish of the place was a bit rough, but I don't care about stuff like that. It was very clean, everything worked and I could open the windows for some fresh air which you often can't do at hotels.

Minimal soundproofing as it’s an old building so the walls are paper thin (we could hear people putting plugs into sockets) A double bed was two twin beds together so the mattress had a hard divide in the middle. It’s a lively pub on a main road so expect a certain level of noise

It was so close conveniently to the rail stn and the theatre Cambridge junction . And even the shopping centre albeit a good 15 min walk . The room was clean freshly refurbished and a lovely size and comfortable bed . It is above a public house but after theatre 10.30 ish I never heard any noise at all and the room on the main road side .. very pleased with it.The staff staff were great and although not breakfast included 2 full English (filling) purchased for the morning at an extremely good rate .

Nothing not to like really great value for money

Really friendly and welcoming staff with a down to earth atmosphere. The accommodation was good value for the reasonable price, and had everything we needed. They seem to be doing some decorating and updates to the hallways, but there was no noise disturbance. The noise from the pub wasn't audible from our room so we had a peaceful night's sleep. Overall a basic but pleasant stay.
