£52 for the night was good and an added 20% off the evening meal you can't grumble with. Town centre location with a free car park is good

Room was clean and comfortable, but sadly a little tired, the wall light by the desk is broken, if you touch it , it spins on it's spindle and hangs upside-down. The shower head is too big and heavy for the riser, the moment you turn the water on it hit me on the head. Toilet roll holder is broken and not there. Other than the niggles in the room we had a nice night away

Easy walk from the train station to the hotel. Nice room with comfy bed & serendipitously a nice, long bath. Lovely pub that we spent our afternoon & evening in! Really enjoyed our meals (chicken curry for one of us & steak for the other and then we shared apple crumble). Breakfast the next morning was lovely & our server even popped out to get some soy milk for me as they had run out of it.

We can't think of anything we didn't like. We were in this part of the world to attend a family wedding. If we ever find ourselves in Newmarket again, this is where we will choose to stay.

Great location, very helpful and friendly staff. Ample free parking on site. Lovely pub with food is also on site, very convenient as well as all the other high street shops and restaurants only a couple of minutes walk away.

Rooms are a bit small and very close together so you can hear every coming and going from the next door rooms. There is no lift so carrying luggage upstairs can be a bit of a trek. However, this is an old charming building so these constraints are understandable.

Clean room, quiet location although may be a little more lively at weekends I would imagine, good breakfast, helpful staff. Fan provided in room as weather was very hot. Good value for money.

Bathroom a little small but it is an old property so not unexpected. No lift as far as I could see, which may be an issue, although fortunately not for myself.

It was quite noisy at night with live music downstairs. This didn't worry me and with ear plugs I got a good night sleep anyway - something for others to be aware of. The temperature of the shower did have a bit of a mind of its own but this was only a minor issue!

The location was perfect for us, and the staff were so helpful. We were advised that there was a party in the function room with a DJ until late, this was not a problem. The pub was also excellent, a great atmosphere!

I thought I had booked a room with a bath but there was only a shower room. (We only have a shower at home, so I always like a bath when we go away!) The shower was tiny, a 60cm tray, my partner barely fitted!! Also, there were no bedside lamps or soft lighting, only the bright overhead light.

Location is fantastic, it’s on the main high street, we went to the races and the free transport coaches pick you up opposite. The room was very spacious, very clean, hairdryer provided in room along with hot drink facilities.

There isn’t anything we didn’t like, the only thing I will say it’s above a pub so expect a bit of noise especially on certain days of the week, but to be honest it was very minimal.

Room was big and was lovely and clean, bathroom good size, loved the huge bath towels. Great location just had everything we needed.

The only downside to our room was that it was directly on the street and hot weekend needed to have the windows open so a little noisy but we had expected some noise.

The location was perfect for our stay. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, bedding lovely and very clean. People were very friendly and helpful. Greta in particular was excellent, I don't think anything would have been too much trouble for her. Breakfast was good, service prompt, couldn't ask for more.

The location is great, with parking behind the Hotel. The Classic breakfast is 4* cooked to perfection. The staff are amazing, I felt welcomed and at home. The food in the Pub is great too, really enjoyed our stay here and look forward to returning soon.

The hotel, could do with a makeover, decorating etc. But overall it was clean and tidy.
