We have used the hotel quite a few times now as our daughter & her family moved to Derbyshire just over a year ago. The hotel staff are always accommodating & extremely helpful & friendly. The location is excellent & the hotel itself is clean & comfortable.

We have an EV & always have to charge our vehicle whilst there, especially the night we arrive after almost a 190-mile journey & the night before we travel back. The cost is usually around £30 for a full charge. However, on this occasion, we were charged £95+ due to a new 'extra charge for leaving the charger plugged in after the charge was complete, £0.20 per minute after charging had finished. This was not advised in advance, only after the charge had been completed & would have meant getting up & going down to the vehicle at 01:30am to disconnect the charger! We also had to charge the car for our journey home... another inflated cost for a necessity!

The hotel is lovely, we loved the room that we booked we where really happy with that. We throughly enjoyed the breakfast 👍🏽

There were two things we were not too happy about the first is that we had traveled from Germany for a wedding the following day but we could not book a table to eat as we were not informed prior that we’d have to give them 24hrs notice. When we then ordered room service the food we ordered was not available so we ended up eating somewhere else. If we had been given prior notice we definitely would have gotten something to eat prior to us arriving at the hotel. The other was that there was no small fridge in the rooms either.

The helpfulness of the staff nothing was to much trouble which was very refreshing. The whole property was delightful. There is one thing that could be improved upon and that the front parking lot. The shifting of the stones onto the areas that are tarmac looks scruffy and difficult to navigate and especially when you have luggage in tow.

I hope they get directed to the back parking from the get go.

We got married at Wildes Inns on the 16th August. The staff went above and beyond to make our day special and smooth sailing. Nearly all of our family members stayed the night before the wedding and were pleased with the rooms and amenities. I could not recommend this hotel enough; the food is gorgeous and the staff are amazing! We had a brilliant stay, and a brilliant wedding.

As much as I love how traditional the Bridal Suite is (Sherwood Side) I do think it would benefit from a few touch ups of paint etc to stop it looking as aged. Other than that, can’t fault the place.

The location was pleasant, with a lot of trees around the hotel. It was situated on a main road, though it didn't feel like that because it was quiet. The room was comfortable, with a super-king bed. The coffee and tea facilities were good and the décor was pleasant.

The staff member who booked us in didn't explain where breakfast was being served. As it turned out, our room was in a different part of the hotel to the dining room and we had to go out of one building and into another to reach it. Not too much of an issue as the weather was good for our stay, but could be an irritant in rough weather. We did find the dining room and breakfast was really good. In the bathroom, the temperature regulator knob for the bath and shower was so badly seized that the water was dangerously hot. I managed to turn it down a bit by using a towel and all my strength, but at no point could we get cold water. My wife had to wait about half an hour for her bath to cool down to a safe temperature.

Hotel was amazing itself. Bedrooms spa en suite was awesome. Love the Wildes room yet not realising we got the room for disabled which supposedly be used to disable person. All the beds were soft and comfortable. The staff were accommodating and receptionist Daniel was truly a star for making my daughter’s room extra special for her 27th birthday. We have our dinner and breakfast at the hotel and the food were really delicious. We would like to thank Daniel and the rest of the Wildes staff for making our stay a memorable one.

Nowhere to dry towels for a two day stay a change of towels on the second day would have been appreciated. Even though there were symbols on the menu for allergens the waitress was a little confused when asked about wheat. I ended up having fish and chips the fish without batter, I’m sure there must have been a gluten free batter. Some gluten/wheat free pastry options would have been nice at breakfast for a hotel of this standard.

I had a delightful buffet breakfast that included scrambled eggs, mushrooms, beans, hash browns, fried eggs, sausage, and bacon. There was also a menu with additional items to order. The restaurant was charming, not too crowded, and the tables were nicely spaced apart. I booked the spa suite, which had a spacious bathroom with a walk-in shower and double-ended bath, as well as a roomy area with a sofa and desk. The room service meals are fantastic and are available from the restaurant. I really appreciate this service when I return to the hotel from a day in the office - the belly pork is particularly enjoyable. Plenty of free parking and electric charging points.

The staff at breakfast are not as attentive as I would have expected. On a couple of occasions I have not been greeted and shown to a table as staff are in the back kitchen for periods of time. As I am usually on a tight schedule, I wait for few (3-5) minutes, then seat myself. Even after seating myself, no one comes to offer tea/coffee or take my room number. I understand that the team may be short-staffed during the week and very busy, but I would still expect the staff to know which tables are occupied. Perhaps allowing customers to serve themselves tea/coffee would be a good solution if this is the case. Having said this, I would not let this put me off from staying again, as I appreciate the staff are working very hard behind the scenes at a very busy time in the day.

Cooked elements of breakfast were fine.

I thought the other parts of breakfast; cereals, etc were far below comparable hotels. There was continental breakfast available to order, but almost every hotel I have stayed in have these elements on the buffet, and that was disappointing. I would have expected to see fresh fruits, compotes, yogurts, pastries and croissants on display. My room was in the old part of the hotel, with no internal access to reception, gym and the restaurant. Very comfy bed and decent bathroom, but no means to regulate temperature, lots of noise at 5.00am from room above.

Modern room, helpful and friendly staff

Although mostly clean, the shower requires a deep clean as the grout is discoloured in places and the trims along the bottom of glass panels have mould on them. TV aerial was broken but staff quickly remedied. Breakfast was good but £4 for a peppermint tea is too expensive! I cannot have caffeine and therefore make this request frequently when staying in hotels and have never been charged before. Bar prices were higher than average.
