My wife and I visited Colyton for a wedding and stayed four nights at the historic Old Bakehouse. The inn was comfortable, perfectly clean, had excellent Wi-Fi, and was located conveniently in the Devon County area with easy access to nearby Seaton, Lyme Regis, Beer, and the Axminister train station. The common areas were wonderful, and the owners, Steve and Fiona, were without equals. Steve greeted us with a smile, was very welcoming and helped us to our room (after a long journey traveling from the US) while also explaining necessary details about the room, breakfast, common area, etc. Our room (No. 1) was very comfortable, had a kettle with tea, coffee bags, and biscuits which were replenished daily. The room’s ensuite bathroom (also refreshed daily) was appropriately spacious and supplied with soft towels along with eco-friendly soaps and shampoos. The breakfast was superb with a choice of made to order traditional full English breakfast or other options that included poached egg with salmon, selected fresh fruits, cereals, yogurts, jams, and juices. The dining room was a pleasant area with an adjoining lounge and a superb collection of books and vinyl records for listening and relaxation. The Old Bake house is a hidden gem in Colyton and meets all the needs of a perfect weekend getaway or holiday. The owners, Steve and Fiona, were accessible and extremely helpful in providing information regarding local activities. We will stay here again the next time we visit.

Nothing comes to mind of anything we didn't like.

Clean, comfortable, warm and best of all it was most welcoming and friendly. Location was perfect, no night time restrictions, flexible breakfast times, vegan / vegetarian friendly, and other guests were hospitable. In the centre of the Colyton rabbit warren, it is very close to amenities, local shops and local attractions and local countryside, town walks, tram to and from Seaton (every 20 minutes) with stops along the way at the nature reserve (which is free). Very good pub opposite the accommodation. Very close to the public car park, but don't forget to buy an East Devon parking permit, it will save a lot of hassle and you can park in any other public carpark in the area, Seaton, Beer etc.

Rain, a lot of it, but apparently it does not always rain in Devon.

We have just had a very pleasant stay at The Old Bakehouse in Colyton. Steve & Fiona are lovely. On our arrival, we were provided with hot drinks & were made to feel very welcome. Our room was spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated, with a comfortable bed. The en-suite has a bath & shower with environmentally friendly toiletries. There is a kettle and quality tea & ground coffee bags & biscuits. Breakfast was delicious, with a good choice of cereal, yoghurt, fruit, toast & preserves & a variety of hot food which is cooked to order. There is a comfortable guest lounge adjoining the dining room, with a record player & extensive collection of vinyl & books. Steve tailors the music to guests’ tastes. Location is excellent. Within a short walk of the tram station, where you can catch a tram to neighbouring Seaton. From Seaton, there is also a scenic coast walk to Beer. All in all, a lovely stay and we would thoroughly recommend the accommodation.

There was nothing we didn’t like about the property

Great hosts. Steve and his family made our stay very enjoyable. They were very helpful with a few issues we had while staying with them. The b&b is very well positioned, although there was no dedicated parking we had no issues with finding somewhere close by to park overnight. The rooms were comfortable and clean, with lovely toiletries. Steve's record collection was a real treat and I lost my partner to it one evening.

A lovely place to stay, so warm and welcoming. Steve made you feel at home. Our room was perfect, with everything you needed. Tea and coffee facilities, luxury toiletries, and comfy beds. The breakfast was out of this world, and freshly cooked, Emma can recommend the full english breakfast, and I can recommend the scrambled egg with salmon, all cooked to perfection. Steve and Fiona were the perfect hosts.

Very clean and comfortable room with nice welcome touches like high quality shower accessories and really nice bath sheets and a tea/coffee tray with biscuits 😊 Breakfast was really nice too with everything thought about and beautifully cooked. Steve and Fiona made us feel very welcome and we are looking forward to booking with the Bakehouse again!

Nice location in Colton. The place is nicely decorated and quirky which we like. Breakfast was excellent and proprietors made you feel welcome.

Ordering breakfast the day before, never sure what I want till the morning. The bed was uncomfortable for me, did not sleep well although my partner was OK with no issues.

Lovely hosts who make you feel very welcome. The room was of an exceptionally high std and had all the extra little touches like tea and coffee bags, biscuits, shampoo and conditioner etc. Breakfast - there was a good variety and was cooked perfectly. We would definitely stay again.

I had a freshly cooked breakfast made from local ingredients which was a perfect start to the day. Fiona and Steve are very helpful and friendly hosts.

An earlier start (08:00) for breakfast would have been nice but this is a minor point.

Great choice on breakfast menu, well cooked and very tasty, friendly hosts who couldn’t do enough for us. Our room was lovely and clean . Great location. Highly recommend this place.
