Our hostess, Sue, was very friendly. She was very knowledgeable about the area and nothing was too much trouble. The room was spotlessly clean and well equipped with a very comfy bed. The breakfasts were lovely and well cooked. My wife and i honestly couldn't have asked for better accommodation and a better hostess. We both would highly recommend Nettle Bank to anyone. If we ever visit this part of the country again we will definitely look Nettle Bank up. 10/10. 😀👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

I didn’t dislike the property at all. Bearing in mind the cost of the accommodation o think the inclusion of some free additional extras would have enhanced things. Ie little packets of small biscuits and bottles of water would have been nice. I wasn’t sure if it was ok to go into the owners garden to enjoy their surroundings and clarification around this would have been helpful bearing in mind several photos of the garden/sunsets were in the media …, it wasn’t made clear if could or not … Host was friendly and helpful. It’s the perfect balance of seaside access and rural serenity. We left feeling completely refreshed and already planning our next visit. I enjoyed everything about Nettlebank during my week's stay and wouldn't hesitate to return. My room (King room at the front of the property) was very comfortable. It had everything I needed and was spotlessly clean. Nettlebank is located in a peaceful lane just off the road that passes through Uplyme to Lyme. There's very little passing traffic and I slept really well, which is unusual for me when I'm on holiday. Sue was a very friendly, helpful host and produced an excellent breakfast each morning. Everything was very relaxed and it felt like home from home. There is off-road parking at the property (best to reverse in from the lane as the drive is on a slope), and Lyme is about 10 minutes' drive away. I was staying during a warm, sunny week and Lyme got very busy from mid-morning onwards. If you want to park at the Harbour (Monmouth Beach) car park, as I did, you need to get there for around 10.15 to be sure of getting a spot. It fills up quickly because it's the car park nearest to the harbour and beach. Finally, I thought my stay at Nettlebank was very good value for money.

I have no suggestions for improvements. Nettlebank met my expectations exactly!

Very warm welcome by Sue, made to feel at ease straight away. Sue was very knowledgeable about the area. Breakfast was very nicely cooked, as well as a choice of cereals, fresh fruit, toast etc. with lovely views to enjoy from the breakfast room. Nicely situated for Lyme Regis and other coastal towns in the area. Quiet and peaceful..

Very comfortable, clean and homely. Sue is an exceptional host and cooks a fantastic breakfast to order. Breakfast has quite the view too! She had useful information regarding the area and was always happy to help if we needed anything. The location was good, very quick drive into Lyme Regis and were able to get taxis to/from when we needed one (Note: We were advised to make sure to book taxis in advance and book your return journey!).

A second bedside table would have been useful, but wasn't the end of the world!!

The location is a little remote, so very quiet at night (No traffic noise) The welcome was very friendly. The room was very clean & tidy with an ensuite shower room. The shower experience was a great - no-one likes a poor shower first thing in the morning! My room was serviced every day of my stay. Breakfasts were awesome - I can't manage a large cooked breakfast these days but Sue cooked me an awesome toasted bacon sandwich on both days which I thoroughly enjoyed. There was also a good selection of breakfast cereals available, and also hot & cold drinks. The fresh coffee was great! The view across the valley from the large picture window in the breakfast room was simply amazing! There is free WiFi available. There is plenty of space to park your car (I drive a large 4x4) You are not very far from Lyme Regis, where there are many nice places offering very good food/drinks. I would definitely book Nettle Bank again if visiting the local area.

There is nothing that I didn't like about my stay here. I stayed in January 2024 during storm Isha. It was very windy and sometimes quite wet. As there are no street lights outside Nettle Bank, I would recommend to anyone staying here during the darker months that you carry a small pocket torch to help you navigate your way down the steep driveway at night.

It was a lovely quiet and peaceful setting. Close to Lyme Regis and Charmouth. Beautiful dining room with large window overlooking the garden. Breakfasts were cooked fresh while we ate our cereal and fruit. Room was clean and well equipped. Sue was happy to provide anything extra we needed.

The only thing (which is a personal preference) is that the bed was very firm and perhaps could do with a 'topper' to make it a little more comfortable for us oldies!

Everything really. The b&b is in a lovely rural position about a ten minute drive from Lyme Regis with lovely views across the back garden. Our ensuite room was nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. There was a good choice at breakfast and we could come and go as we pleased during the day. Sue is a lovely host and it's like staying with friends. We look forward to staying again. Roy & Sue

The location was EPIC for hiking ! We found it central to the Jurasic coast. Our hostess, Sue even gave us suggestions for other locations with amazing views. She was so helpful and knew the area so well. Breakfast was custom cooked fresh each morning with quite the variety too!
