The property is modern, stylish and comfortable. It’s well located for accessing the Charmouth beach and centre as well as being just a short drive from Lyme Regis. Everything is clean, tidy and feels like home. The breakfast is amazing and the team that are there are so friendly, welcoming and great at what they do!

In the far corner where we stayed the free guest WiFi struggled a little but not enough to be a considerable problem or be something I felt needed raise whilst there. It’s a consideration depending on what room you’re in. Everywhere it was strong. It was WiFi being WiFi.

We had such a lovely stay at Hensleigh House for a little mother–daughter getaway. The location is spot on—just a short stroll to Charmouth beach for fossil hunting (we found a few little treasures!) and an easy hop to Lyme Regis for shops, ice cream and, yes, a bit of Pokémon hunting. We even squeezed in a day trip to Weymouth. Our room was spotless and comfortable, the breakfasts were delicious, and everyone we met was genuinely friendly and helpful without being over the top. Parking was straightforward and the whole place felt calm and welcoming after busy days out. We’ve already booked again for next year, which probably says it all. There is absolutely nothing we didn’t like or didn’t enjoy! Breakfast was absolutely spectacular and the honesty bar was awesome! Everything was within walking distance too making it perfect!

Really liked the room . It was obviously recently refurbished and had great decor. Bed was very comfy and found windows could open easily giving good ventilation. Cleanliness was of a high standard Breakfast I was fed like a trojan, food came out very quickly after ordering it. I thought that ordering the full English would take more time, but was infront of me in a couple of minutes. Staff were polite and friendly.

Horrific sound proofing. I thought that there was a party going on in the room next door to me. However it turns out these were guests sitting downstairs having a drink. The noise got so bad that at 9pm I had to leave my room and go for a walk. It was like this up until 11.30pm

Lovely welcome from the owner who could not have been nicer. Exceptional location regards the wonderful Charmouth beach that is a simple five minutes walk. Very simply, warm welcome, exceptionally clean and comfortable room and a lovely range of breakfast options including an omelette to die for. I’m waiting for a winter storm to expose all the Jurassic coast has to offer a rookie fossil hunter to return and I will most certainly return/ recommend Hensleigh House. Thank you.

Everything was very clean & comfortable. The decor & furnishings were beautifully presented & had plenty of drawer & wardrobe space for clothes. Lovely seating area. Perfect en-suite, tea & coffee facilities with locally sourced biscuits, water & glasses. Friendly & welcoming. Very good breakfast. Felt homely. A few short minted walk to Charmouth beach. Very good pub serving food two minutes walk away in village.

The water pressure in the shower was quite low. The curtains only blocked out the neighbours not the light.

Very friendly hosts. Lovely big bathroom and shower. Nicely furnished and decorated. Plenty of plug sockets. Nice choices for breakfast. Had full English one day, mushroom omelette and ham & mushroom omelette on other days. Muesli some days or piping hot porridge other days. Nice bottle of water in the room each day. Nice comfortable sofas in the lounge to sit and chat. Very convenient for the beach and fossil hunting and not much further to the 2 pubs in the village and the bus stops for buses to Bridport for the open top bus to Weymouth, or the other way to Lyme Regis and Axminster.

Having to leave shoes by the door though I understand it saves sand being brought in after walks on the beach, and the rooms are nicely comfortable carpeted. Maybe asking to bring slippers. I should have gone for a double bed rather than the twin room. Comfortable bed but at 6ft I like to stretch out. Next time I'll book a double. Nothing much to fault here.

Another very warm welcome by Jane and her team (second time stayed here and she remembered us despite having lots of guests) Place is exceptionally clean, honesty bar and pleasant area (with games, books) to hang out in if wanted. Location just a small walk from 2 wonderful beaches - for swimming and fossiling - from the SW Coastal path, a small museum and couple of small arty shops. Good bus service to Lyme Regis (and Bridport/Dorchester/Axminster). Very tasty breakfast. On-site parking. All provided with genuine smiles and pleasantness.

There is nothing not to like, everything is good.

The location was lovely and peaceful with the beach just a few minutes walk away down the lane, a fish and chip shop (take-away only) and two pubs just around the corner. Charmouth is a lovely village and within easy reach of Lyme Regis which is just a couple of miles away. The room was exceptionally clean with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was generally very good.

We felt that the full English breakfast, although tasty, was slightly lacking, e.g. just half a tomato and a small amount of mushrooms, one small sausage and no hash brown. Attention to this would have made all the difference at no great expense. The amount of bacon, egg and beans were just right. All the other elements of breakfast were perfect, e.g. cereals, yoghurts, fruit, etc.

We have stayed at Hensleigh House a few times when fossil hunting. We love it here! The price is fair given the proximity to the beach. The staff are so lovely and helpful. Amazing breakfast. Places to leave Welly boots!! We booked three rooms for New Year's Eve and we used the sofas and communal space for games! Great to have this space on offer. The George is a homey and welcoming pub nearby (closed for a few months after New years) We'll be back again for sure!

Next time we will try and book a larger room as we didn't quite have enough floor space for our cases and bags of fossil hunting gear

Our host Jane was friendly and welcoming. The whole place was immaculate and so clean. Breakfast was freshly cooked using local produce and was an amazing start to the day. The location was perfect for a 5 minute walk to Charmouth Beach for fossil hunting (turn left!) and a short walk to The Royal Oak for a very good dinner (book well in advance). Only 10 minutes drive to Lyme Regis - other guests told us the buses were good. No shortage of parking and Jane allowed us to leave the car there after we had checked out. Lovely communal spaces, bright open dining room and a comfortable lounge area. Be kind - bring your slippers and leave your shoes by the back door as politely requested.

Cannot fault anything at all - perfect😊
