Excellent location on Lyme Regis main street. A mere 30 yards down to the sea front. The hotel is on the main street in the middle of the local shops, plenty of pubs, and other restaurant option. The hotel has a great pub/bar for a pint or two with typical period low ceiling and wood beams. Lots of character. The Cobb is a short half-mile walk along the sea front. Great walk and a must do while at Lyme. The rooms are small, but comfortable and have everything you need. Face it, you are not at Lyme Regis to stay inside your hotel room.
Not a complaint, a confirmation from the hotel about the hotel parking lot. It is described as small and that is very correct. The entrance to the parking lot at the back is very tight, through an archway, and not easy to get into from the main street. Parking spaces are typically tight. Fortunately, we found a space for our larger vehicle and kept it parked for the duration of our stay. The hotel does have a couple spots reserved for electric vehicles and a charging outlet.

This was run by friendly people who did their best to make our stay enjoyable. The TV wasn’t working for the 2 days we were there and we were offered a complimentary drink in compensation. The pool wasn’t advertised or signposted but was available to book on asking and a towel was provided. There was a games room that we discovered by chance near the pool. The shower in the room wasn’t working but was fixed efficiently after telling reception but unfortunately the head drooped from the fixing so you couldn’t stand underneath it, just hold it. The decor was very dated but the bed was comfortable and towels were new-looking and soft. Breakfast was good but more tea and coffee being offered would have been nice and drinking water made available. Fabulous location. Good food in the pub dining. Well-kept H&W ales.

The hotel has a central location and a good sized carpark. This was ideal as we did not need to use our car during our stay so could safely leave it for the duration. The hotel also has a good size swimming pool and you can book a session for your own use. We had breakfast each morning consisting of a buffet and freshly cooked options. The quality of food was of a consistently high standard. Members of staff were polite and friendly, the room was clean and well appointed and this is a hotel we would return to.
Nothing stood out as being a concern. Yes, parts of the hotel may look tired to some but it is an old building built before flat walls mattered. A hotel will get knocks and scrapes owing to the amount of people travelling through.

Located on the Main Street it was not surprising that the view from the window wasn't dynamic. However, traffic noise wasn't a disturbance at night. Location made access to all areas easy on foot. Excellent Breakfast, made to order rather than the usual hot and bothered buffet.
Lack of a bath was a little disappointing for a Superior Room. Internet didn't work in the room. A hand-rail on either side of the wide staircase would be a safer option, especially when carrying luggage. Parking very tight in car park, which is accessed through the original coaching entrance near the front door.

The breakfast was plentiful and the staff friendly. A a couple of little mistakes in the order ie i ordered scrambled eggs and received poached, I asked for one breakfast tea and one Earl Grey and two Earl Grey arrived but both orders were changed rapidly and with grace so no problem at all. We loved the pool and sauna and made use of the facilities the three days we were there. The cherry on top would have been if the jacuzzi had been working!
There was a bit of noise coming from upstairs above our room in the early morning. But it may have been staff getting ready for work so understandable.

The hotel was beautiful, extremely clean and the staff were very friendly, helpful and professional. The food was delicious from breakfast, late dinner, and a Sunday roast. There were beautiful views from our room (number 18) and the upper lounge room. Our only disappointment was no tv due to a damaged aerial, not that we had our break to sit and watch the tv, but it would have been nice to have been able to. We were given a complimentary drink as an apology, then found out that everyone was getting a complimentary drink on arrival.!! As I had upgraded the room it would have been nice to have been offered some money off or maybe an extra night for free, even a free meal would have been nice.! Jane Wilkins
As above, no working tv, which we didn't find out about until around 9pm the night before our arrival. We travelled 4 1/2 hrs to get to you, and I wanted everything to be perfect.

The location was very close to the seafront so an easy walk. it is on the main street so plenty of shops to buy souvenirs or clothes if you want. We enjoyed walking to the Mary Anning statue. Off street parking was great and there was just a one step access down to our room. The room itself was very spacious with plenty of room to open both our suitcases. The furnishings were tasteful and in keeping with the historic building. There were several beautifully furnished seating areas with interesting mementoes where you could relax with a drink and snack. Breakfast was upstairs in what could have been a banqueting hall. A great variety of the usual cereals, fruits, yoghurts and hot food cooked to order made for an excellent meal. A free drink voucher for the evening was a lovely surprise.
The hotel entry was hard to see coming down the hill with scaffolding on the street obscuring the narrow entry. the only real issue was a rude guest coming out who would not back up, forcing me to reverse into oncoming downhill traffic, quite nervewracking. When we finally got it there were plenty of places she could have reversed into safely. Not the fault of the hotel but the rudest driver we had encountered on our trip.

It was clean , had unique features and was close to the Main Street and beach - I had broken my arm and had surgery on it just before my visit and felt the hotel room was comfortable even though I was still in some pain / the cosy chairs were a good touch and the bathroom was lovely
The stairs were challenging as I was in plaster but I managed okay as they were not too sweep and if I had not been in plaster wouldn’t have been difficult - I felt that there should have been more gluten free food options - I downloaded the menu on my phone and used the allergy filter and there was no gf options at all

Great breakfast in charming dining room. Attentive service. Our room was a good size, with a comfortable bed and quiet aspect. The staff were all very pleasant. The swimming pool is a great asset, especially as it is possible to book it privately for an hour at a time. The beach is just a short walk from the hotel, which is in a central location and has the benefit of a car park for residents (first come, first served).
Things went a bit awry at dinner on our last night as a number of items were off the menu. We weren't told for quite some time that my choice was not available and then, when my replacement order arrived, it hadn't been cooked properly (done in a rush, I guess, as time was getting on now) and I couldn't get my knife through the meat. We weren't charged but it was a bit disappointing as we had chosen that night to dine in as it was our last evening at the hotel and this rather spoiled the memory of the holiday.

Very friendly, helpful and approachable staff and a pleasant atmosphere. The car park was secure. We were very impressed by the way in which the staff at breakfast remained calm, cheerful and helpful even when confronted with a very demanding group on an organised tour.
We'd have liked the option of two prices for breakfast. The price was the same whether or not we had a cooked breakfast, which seemed bit unfair. Also, on booking.com we were informed that breakfast was included in the price - it clearly wasn't. I've had this experience with booking.com before and I think that this organisation should take more care to provide correct information.
