A lovely place to stay and the room was fitted out to a high standard. Comfy bed, great shower, good lighting and effective WiFi (which is handy as O2 mobile signal doesn't reach to here!) I only had a coffee and toast breakfast but full English (or veggie alternative) is available - again, everything was to a high standard. Yvonne and James are welcoming and work hard to make sure everything is the best it can be.

The bar area is a bit basic and the evening menu may be limited for some. It was fine for me and the pie, chips and peas standard offering was very good. But if your tastes differ then plan to visit some of the other evening meal options locally - they have a list with contact details in the guest info pack.

Breakfast was timed and made to order for me at a requested time. No hanging around. Really fresh and nice bread eggs etc. Room had a super comfy bed . Freshly decorated . Sat in the bar talking with the land lady and other guests made it really pleasant

Perhaps move the restaurant speaker from its high point in the room. Whilst faint it is audible in the above rooms

Excellent breakfast. Beautifully cooked but limited dinner menu. Hotel ideally situated for my needs.

No mention on the web site that the access to guest rooms is via an exterior staircase. Could be a problem in the pouring rain for elderly people, like myself, with limited mobility.

Yvonne made us very welcome. The room (no.1) was spacious and very comfortable….we didn’t hear much traffic noise. Also, the bathroom was very modern and spacious

( only very minor, but hopefully constructive comments:) 1) the bathroom door needs some planing/adjustment at the bottom,in order to close properly 2) the shower plug hole needs a deep clean 3) the jacket potato offering in the bar would be more appetising if accompanied by a side salad ( even if the price adjusted upwards)

Good stay. Breakfast excellent. May sit out the back and see/hear the river when in good flood. Well sited for my trips out and about. Have a dog called Ash. A side road runs alongside however is not at all busy. Great stay 2 nights and would stay again.

Breakfast outstandingly good , reception efficient and pleasant. Bed comfortable. Good shower. I'd stay again if passing that way

The Parrett is really quaintly decorated & cosy. The whole area is clean & tidy. The room was comfortable & the veggie breakfast was yummy. We were the only guests, but for the effort they put in for us, you'd have thought the hotel was full. We're going back next March for 2 nights this time.

The satnav didn't like the postcode & took us up dark lanes, but this is no reflection on the Parrett.

Very freidly host. Rooms were lovely, clean and the bed was very comfy. The breakfast was 10 out of 10 and cooked fresh to order. Would definitely go back again.

The only negative comment has nothing to do with the hotel. Just could not get a taxi at all 🤣 so better to pre book or have a lift.

Enchanting location, very friendly and helpful welcome without being intrusive. One of those hidden gems of family run hotels that you leave wishing you could have stayed longer, and thank you to James for re-opening the bar!

A couple of minor details which I am sure would have been seen to if they had been important enough to ask about.... in other words - nothing. This is an independent review!

Had no breakfast, ideal location for visiting family

Would have appreciated help with suitcase going up the outside stairs as my husband is 82 and finds it awkward to carry luggage. Also found the shower slippery
