Attractive building, public areas comfortable, room comfortable and nicely finished, although one of the electrical sockets didn’t work (I couldn’t push a plug in) and it could do with a socket by the bed. The corridors and stairs leading to the rooms were a bit tired and needing some redecoration. We had an evening meal with our b&b, and the food was delicious, as was the superb breakfast. All the staff we came into contact with were all very friendly and helpful, and I must mention the waitress at dinner who was very helpful with my colleague’s gluten free and vegetarian needs, as was the kitchen.

Not a lot, but see above

Food was good and the evening meal offer, together with the happy hour offer, made it excellent value for money. The staff were very pleasant and chatty, and very apologetic about the road being closed for resurfacing outside the hotel (they had little notification of this). They phoned us in advance to warn us and overall communication was very good.

No eggs for breakfast - not their fault as the workmen doing the road resurfacing had turned away their delivery! The rest of the breakfast was very good. The rooms are a little 'tired', but very clean so no issues there. A refurb would improve this.

We had a couple of meals and the food was excellent, particularly the roast beef & roast lamb. The breakfasts were good quality too. All members of staff were brilliant: very welcoming, friendly and helpful. We thought the garden, dining and bar areas were really pleasant places to relax in too. We also appreciated how clean our room was.

The pillows didn’t suit us. One a bit hard, the other too bulky. As there were no alternatives when we asked, we’ll bring our own next time. It wouldn’t put us off staying again as we really enjoyed our stay at The Manor.

From our arrival, all of the staff were really pleasant, friendly and welcoming. The hotel has character, it's an old building, but clean and comfortable. The breakfast has a good range, fresh fruit and pastries and also the warm breakfasts were very good. The pub has a great outside area, lovely and welcoming inside, a good range of drinks also. We were kindly upgraded, and room 7 was a great size, v comfy large bed, good sized bathroom and all v clean. We stayed on a weekend and there wasn't too much noise either coming from the pub exit below which was good

Nothing

Hotel perfectly situated for shops/restaurants. Free parking on site. Friendly staff. Room equipped with tv, tea/coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board, and hairdryer. Also fan and heater. Comfortable bed and bathroom had both bath and shower. Restaurant available if required and good choice for breakfast.

Bathroom floor not always cleaned. The décor needed sprucing up especially the paintwork in the corridors and stairways. I was not informed until I got there that a wedding reception had been booked for the Saturday and the music was so loud the vibrations were felt in the bedroom.

We only stayed one night but the room had everything we needed including tea and coffee. The bed was comfortable and the room and bathroom were very clean. Because it is an older hotel, the soundproofing was not great and we could hear the guests walking around on the floor above us. However, they were not particularly noisy so we weren't too disturbed luckily. Despite being Valentines night, we were able to get a table in the restaurant that evening and took advantage of a very reasonable Valentines deal. Food was good and the staff were really friendly. The room was a little dated but that made no difference to what was provided for our stay. It was good value for money, warm and comfortable.

Sunday lunch was good, late afternoon ask if we could get sandwiches as had a big lunch, was told that had to order from Sunday menu, which was to much for me, had to order another meal, which I left half, people staying in hotel should be able to get a sandwich at tea time, bar staff very good, room was ok, breakfast asked for yoghurt was told didn’t have any, not enough fruit, banana was bad, should not have been put out, I would have liked a pot of tea, when asked staff they said tea was over on window shelf.

Breakfast, couldn’t get a sandwich

Checking in was straightforward The room/ensuite was huge with a massive queen size bed which was very comfortable Staff were friendly welcoming polite charming helpful

The establishment was huge and it was like a maze navigating around especially at night when the main door was locked and you had to use the alternative door entry .. you could easily get lost The hotel looked old and tired Decor was old and in need of refreshing it made it look dirty even if it wasn't Being old it smelled very musty

Reception and restaurant staff were so very warm and friendly and helpful. Made us feel like their only guests. Chatted with our young daughter. Recommended good restaurant in walking distance. Lovely room with surprise real four poster bed and spacious bathroom with huge deep bath. Excellent freshly made breakfast with good choice. Easy to get to with parking but close enough to centre to walk around. Will definitely stay again when visiting next time.

Don't change a thing. Well ... two softer pillows each would be nice!

The location was good, easy access to the town walking distance . We enjoyed the food we had during our stay. The twin room was clean a little tired in places, but this would definitely not stop us returning. The breakfast was a great start to the day . The staff were friendly and very happy to help . We had a lovely stay the hotel .It was warm and welcoming. We would return.

The loo although clean needed a little bleach or cleaning product to take away stain . Few little marks on wall but nothing major .
