The breakfast was substantial, although a bit limited. The jam and marmalade were of high quality and I loved the china. The evening meal was great and good value for money. I M lactose intolerant and there was a decent choice to choose from on the menu for all courses. I loved the fact that there was a fridge full of water upstairs and a full litre of lactose free milk waiting for me.
There was no plug near to a mirror for blow drying my hair. There was no lock on the bathroom door and although this was not a problem for us, this could be one for someone in a difficult situation.

I was greeted with a smile by Tracey, who escorted me to my room. The room was lovely, spacious, and clean, bed very comfortable with lovely, fresh linen. The bathroom was very clean with a generous offering of towels. I also like that there is a little nook with a fridge, where you can prepare yourself tea or coffee without having to go downstairs.
This isn't so much a 'did not like' but an observation - if you care about the smell of food in your room, you may be put off but it smelled delish...I was just too tired to move to get in on it ha ha ha.

Superb location on the main road, easy to find and just a few minutes walk from the town centre. Excellent sound-proofing meant a good night's sleep, and decent wifi. I enjoyed two meals in the restaurant (it's very popular so you need to book!) and tasty breakfasts - my favourite was the homemade warm banana bread! There's a tea and coffee nook for all guests to use and free sparkling water.
A couple of minor bathroom observations. The shower wasn't very powerful and the ventilation fan made some strange noises in the night. Sure some maintenance would fix them.

I had two rooms, the first was very good, the second was cheaper and smaller with the main road outside. But it was quite acceptable. The tea/coffee was situated in a small room and worked quite well..
The only problem was that both TVs kept cutting out, especially in room 2, a bit annoying as I wanted to watch the football. The problem was that I think the coaxial sockets on the wall had either a loose or corroded aerial connection, juggling the coaxial cable fitting reconnected the TV to the aerial.

Hired accommodation only. Warm welcome well before check-in time, with room ready for me. Clear explanations both before and during my stay. Absolutely exemplary cleaning with fresh towels and bedlinen provided regularly during my stay. Easy access and parking. Despite a roadside room, it was quiet at night. Faultless.
Nothing, except that I didn't have time to sample the bistro food...

Good location for the top of the main street and bars. Upgraded room without asking, at the back, where there is less road noise. Only an issue on hot summer nights. Very nice host. Parking outside (we were lucky with space)
Would have liked breakfast included for the money. The cooking smell in the hallways but to be expected, as it is a restaurant as well.

Lovely local stay in Sherborne. Thank you for being a warm host and swapping my room around where appropriate. Nice little room for teas/ coffees and sparking water. Lovely clean shower room. Home from Home.
I just had to scrape the hard limescale from the shower head as it was blocking some of the holes and the water was going off in different directions. But a scrape with the nails easily loosened the build up and it washed away. :)

A friendly welcome immediately helped set the scene. The location is very convenient for walking into the town centre and there is free street parking close by. Very comfortable and clean accommodation (as an added bonus, we were upgraded and therefore had a larger room). The breakfast was excellent and well priced.
Whilst inevitable because of the establishment's location (close to the A30), there was a certain amount of traffic noise in the morning!

Our room and the hosts were very inviting and we really enjoyed our short weekend break. A very big bonus was the bistro downstairs. The quality of the produce and the way it had been cooked was outstanding. Such a pleasure and at a very reasonable price for this culinary standard. Hosts also kindly held dessert for us until we returned from a concert we had booked. Lovely time . Thank you.
A little road noise in our front elevation bedroom but there was good double glazing and it really didn’t bother us too much.

We had a lovely room - as Tracey kindly upgraded us. Warm, quiet (double glazing,) expensively and tastefully furnished. Large modern shower/bathroom. Comfortable double bed. Handy corner with tea and coffee-making and water. Its easy to walk in 2 mins to the very centre of Sherborne (Cheap St,) via Back Lane - past the Yeatman Hospital.
Room a tad stuffy -otherwise excellent!
