Dinner and breakfast were both excellent. The location was also perfect, directly opposite the Abbey, and free parking was a great advantage,

Room a bit 'tired' and a couple of lights did not work, although they tried to fix one. Be aware that there's a steep outside spiral stairway to negotiate, maybe with your luggage, to access the Courtyard Suite.

excellent breakfast and extended breakfast times. Staff were superb . Food excellent and right opposite a beautiful Abbey. Despite being a pub,all was quiet by 10.30 pm Location is excellent

The Hayloft whilst a quirkey and interesting room off the main building is a bit of a challenge in that the loo and wet room are accessed by a quite steep flight of stairs- well lit, well maintained but not ideal for people of a certain age. The stand alone slipper bath was a fun addition and the room is entirely comfortable with separate seating area and overlooking a pretty courtyard. The only minus was thepillows which were magnificently overstuffed -and not to my taste - however that is a minor consideration.

Lovely place with a great outdoor eating place, especially at night with trees & lights. Live music too. Parking a big bonus for me. Food was very nice but a tiny comment would be that as a solo traveler the menu was limited as it’s a tapas style menu designed to share. Very tasty though

My one little niggle was the slamming of the door by patrons coming & going. My room ( Hayloft ) overlooked the courtyard with many people & there is an access door right under the room. Please think of putting a damper on the door as it rattles the room upstairs !

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. On the first day, my autistic granddaughter struggled to cope with the normal table used for breakfast and the staff had to set up a different table for us in different part of the restaurant that is not normally used. I was delighted to see that on subsequent days the staff had already setup the same table. The breakfast itself was also exceptional and one of nicest I have had whilst staying away from home.

Perfectly situated within walking distance of the station (I walk with a stick), opposite Sherborne Abbey which has bells, we found them comforting. Room is up two flights of stairs, friendly staff carried my case for me. Room is nicely furnished as is the huge bathroom. All the staff were amazing. The venue is lovely and the food and wine excellent. We cannot recommend it more highly. It was a perfect stay for a School Reunion.

Leaving, we really enjoyed our stay there.

The location is superb, right opposite the Abbey. We had lunch in the beautiful courtyard, really loved the ambience! And also ended up eating there in the evening. The food is absolutely superb, never had Italian Tapas! Staff were amazing.

Whilst being aware that the pub is centuries old, I think that the accommodation really needs updating. I had a lovely night's sleep but things were just very tired feeling. I also feel that the bathroom could have been a bit cleaner - but I acknowledge that there are things that maybe don't look clean even when they are, ie shower heads and shower screens, which then comes under the 'needs updating' heading. I did feel that new bed linen would be a good touch, as well as some brighter paint, the room felt very dark But I am not marking anything down, because I loved my stay here!

Friendly & helpful staff. Food was superb - we were a party of 12 and chose the Medio menu, which was excellent. Also the breakfast was the best that I have had at a hotel. Lovely location opposite the magnificent Sherborne Abbey. Sherborne is a lovely town to boot. We much look forward to returning to Sherborne and to the Plume of Feathers. Finally, thanks to Nick and his staff for putting up with me constantly phoning and changing the number of guests attending! The Private function room was perfect and the evening thoroughly enjoyed by us all.

There was nothing that we didn't like.

Fantastic location in the town centre and opposite the beautiful abbey where we were attending a wedding. The breakfast in the morning was absolutely delicious, we both went for the full English but there were lots of other good options too. The fresh orange juice was lovely!

On the whole it was a very quiet stay overnight but the fire doors directly below us were quite loud when someone came through them and the lane behind the room was a little noisy in the evening, but nothing within the control of the Plume and not too disruptive.

The breakfast was excellent - great variety. The room was a great size, the shower/toilet downstairs is inconvenient but not a major problem (and there is a basin upstairs anyway). Plenty of space for the dog and she was welcomed throughout the hotel. No problem with parking and a fantastic location.

Bottle emptying from the pub next door each morning at 7am a bit annoying!

The place we stayed was clean and lovely and cozy, the staff were all pleasant friendly and always asking if we needed anything else always going out of there way to see if we were in need of anything else the food was exeptional including service, even to the point manager asked how our stay and food was. the garden was perfect, we came down to stay the weekend for a potential move to sherbourne and they have definatly impacted on our decision with the surrounding and lovely staff and the people coming in made our choice a lot easier. Could not fault them in the slightest would definatly stay again and would reccomend it to everyone too.
