Hotel perfectly situated for shops/restaurants. Free parking on site. Friendly staff. Room equipped with tv, tea/coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board, and hairdryer. Also fan and heater. Comfortable bed and bathroom had both bath and shower. Restaurant available if required and good choice for breakfast.

Bathroom floor not always cleaned. The décor needed sprucing up especially the paintwork in the corridors and stairways. I was not informed until I got there that a wedding reception had been booked for the Saturday and the music was so loud the vibrations were felt in the bedroom.

From our arrival, all of the staff were really pleasant, friendly and welcoming. The hotel has character, it's an old building, but clean and comfortable. The breakfast has a good range, fresh fruit and pastries and also the warm breakfasts were very good. The pub has a great outside area, lovely and welcoming inside, a good range of drinks also. We were kindly upgraded, and room 7 was a great size, v comfy large bed, good sized bathroom and all v clean. We stayed on a weekend and there wasn't too much noise either coming from the pub exit below which was good

We only stayed one night but the room had everything we needed including tea and coffee. The bed was comfortable and the room and bathroom were very clean. Because it is an older hotel, the soundproofing was not great and we could hear the guests walking around on the floor above us. However, they were not particularly noisy so we weren't too disturbed luckily. Despite being Valentines night, we were able to get a table in the restaurant that evening and took advantage of a very reasonable Valentines deal. Food was good and the staff were really friendly. The room was a little dated but that made no difference to what was provided for our stay. It was good value for money, warm and comfortable.

Reception and restaurant staff were so very warm and friendly and helpful. Made us feel like their only guests. Chatted with our young daughter. Recommended good restaurant in walking distance. Lovely room with surprise real four poster bed and spacious bathroom with huge deep bath. Excellent freshly made breakfast with good choice. Easy to get to with parking but close enough to centre to walk around. Will definitely stay again when visiting next time.

Don't change a thing. Well ... two softer pillows each would be nice!

The location was good, easy access to the town walking distance . We enjoyed the food we had during our stay. The twin room was clean a little tired in places, but this would definitely not stop us returning.The breakfast was a great start to the day . The staff were friendly and very happy to help . We had a lovely stay the hotel .It was warm and welcoming. We would return.

The loo although clean needed a little bleach or cleaning product to take away stain . Few little marks on wall but nothing major .

The initial welcome by Karen the receptionist was so friendly, the breakfast was delicious,(only a minor thing I did find the coffee was too strong for my taste)and there was a great variety on the menu, the team member was so friendly and sorted all our needs. The bar was equipped with a great drinks and good prices. The team even smuggled a secret bottle of champagne into our room(gift from my parents) as we arrived sharply and they managed to sneak it past without us knowing

Only a minor thing, the coffee, was too strong for my taste, just a few more instant choice packets would have been better.

The single room was at the back and the sun had been shining in there all afternoon. Someone has opened a window but that just let the hot air in. Closing the curtains would have been better. I couldn't stay in the room, I made use of the garden. The sash windows needed attention and there were odd pipes coming in and out of the floor and walls, presumably water pipes as they made some noise. The toilet roll holder was hanging off the wall. Just a bit tired and dated but it looks an old building and I guess that creates a host of problems.

-good location in the centre of Yeovil -pub downstairs was decent, probably one of the better pubs in Yeovil -good sized room with comfy beds -bathroom a decent size with good shower pressure -cleaned everyday fresh -warm and comfortable room, quite dated yes but nothing like other reviews are describing - it isn't mouldy or damp or freezing at all. Quite the opposite -breakfast wasn't included in our rate but we had it anyway on the last morning and it was nice and did the job. The orange juice is very sweet and cold and lovely

-the hairdryer was awful - it was very sticky to touch and had a very small lead so I had to hunch on the floor. It was also very very hot with no cold option so my head felt on fire. Clearly a relic from the 1980s - just needs to be replaced -very tight on car parking spaces , we arrived late at night and managed to grab the last one ! This is a big thing for me as I always filter hotel choices to have free car parking included, so I would have been quite perturbed if I hadntve got the space. Nevertheless we did

Dinner and staff excellent. Dining room itself ideal. My room was value for money. Shower great apart from mentions below which might have been down to my incompetence. Loved the shower gel. Hotel itself was larger than expected. Sat nav found it easily and there was plenty of parking space.

Breakfast was let down by lack of appliances to aid helping oneself. Dish of butter nicely set out but nothing available to transfer butter onto toast or plate. No spoons alongside fruit dishes. Shower in room was really good but it took me a little time to figure out how to stop the water, achieve correct temperature. Mattress on bed was too soft for me. Personal preference!

The staff were all excellent, including especially the General Manager Katie who is an incredible asset to the hotel. The value was great. It was nice and quiet but with a good buzz in the public areas. I hope that GreeneKing stay on top of repairs and redecoration - otherwise I can see the hotel having to have a very major refurb in about 5 years which would push prices up and take it out of the cozy upper-middle range and turn it into a snooty place.
