The accommodation was absolutely exquisite. Massive beautifully furnished bedroom, shower room. Hairdryer, robes, TV, chairs, wardrobe ( like in Narnia ! ) heated towel rail, toiletries, teas, coffees, hot chocolate, biscuits, fresh milk, gorgeous decorations, huge towels etc. Car park. Incredible breakfast with many choices, food was delicious.

We thought we would have a drink before venturing to another pub for our evening meal. The New Inn didn't have their kitchen open that particular evening. We go all around the country and aside from central London, the price was unbelievable. A double vodka & diet coke & a pint of local low percentage ale was £19.10. To give you a comparison, the pub 50 yards away sold us exactly the same drinks for £13.50. Just ridiculous.

The New Inn is located in the attractive Dorset village of Cerne Abbas. The Inn's exterior and main rooms blended in well with the character of the village. The bedrooms were modern, compact and comfortable (excellent mattress), located around a courtyard with external seating, and a garden at the back of the Inn. The food and drinks menu were well-balanced, and the quality of both food and wine was outstanding; prices were acceptable, given the quality. The service was efficient, helpful and friendly. A very enjoyable stay.

Excellent location Very good breakfast Accommodating helpful hosts Comfortable bed! Lovely outdoor space to sit with morning coffee. Really liked the fresh milk in the fridge outside our room - very nice touch.

We could hear the people having a conversation in the room above. Breakfast on Easter Sunday was at 8.30am after being at a party the night before and travelling with young adults! They stagger the breakfasts and everyone had got in before us to book the later slots. So we ended up with the 8.30 slot.

Incredibly friendly and accommodating staff, lovely food and such a warm and inviting atmosphere in the pub. Cerne Abbas is such a lovely little village and a great location to start walks and visits from.

I think we had hoped that our room would be in the main building and have some of the period features that were described on the website. However the more modern room we were allocated was warm, clean, comfortable and spacious so it certainly wasn't a big problem!

Such a lovely place to stay! Room was clean, spacious and had all that you need for a night away! Location was fabulous, such a picturesque village! We even explored the Abbey ruins! The owners are so friendly and go above and beyond to make sure your stay is special. Dinner and breakfast were delicious, fresh and well presented....compliments to the kitchen staff. Will definitely be returning. Thank you!

Nothing.. loved my stay here!

Exceptional pub food with high quality local ingredients. The most lovely landlord and landlady who create a warm and peaceful atmosphere in their pub. They went out of their way to help us when our car broke down. The village is beautifully situated in the countryside.

There is very little that needs to be improved as the accommodation is of a very high standard. It’s obviously not a luxury hotel with the prices that would go with that. We had a spacious and very comfortable room. I personally would love softer down pillows but in my experience you don’t get them anywhere now.

On arrival we had a very warm and welcoming greeting, which continued through out our stay. The food both lunchtime and evening was extremely enjoyable. The inside of the pub is very well laid out, with a log fire to making you feel warm and cosy. Breakfast was well cooked and again served with a smile along with local information in abundance. We will definitely return, to explore more of the area and take advantage of some more home cooked food.

We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. As if we had been staying there for years. You could not fault the food or drink. A wonderful menu, expertly cooked. It is place not only supported by passing trade but also by local people- often with a similar business of their own. A good testimony. Place is spotless. We shall be back....100%

The weather............

Lovely traditional pub with modern facilities in a lovely and interesting village. Our room was well appointed and well maintained. We appreciated the real coffee and real milk. Excellent food and a good choice of beer cider and wine in the bar. The staff were all charming and helpful.

The shower was a bit cramped but in fairness we had one of the smaller rooms.

Breakfast was superb. We had to 'book' a timeslot, but for our purposes this was ideal although I suggest maybe not so convenient for those wishing to relax & get away away from deadlines & timescales.

Nothing really. The New Inn was welcoming, full of olde worlde charm. The apartments were beautifully presented and modern. We returned for our evening meal each night. The food was beautifully cooked - a bit on the expensive side - but worth it.
