Lovely clean room. Very comfy bed and great shower with a lovely full english breakfast made with local ingredients and home cooked bread. Given that it clearly states that this is a no frills b and b, we were both impressed and would have no hesitation staying here again when in the area. We also took advantage of the seasonal dinner menu and had a lovely relaxed evening eating in the garden overlooking the countryside with a stunning sunset. The food was exceptional and congratulations to Alex and the staff for the quality of food and service. Thanks Claire for a great stay. David and Catherine

Sadly, we didn't get to meet Claire as she was away but her son, Alex, looked after us very well. Alex, who is also a chef cooked us a lovely breakfast and it was nice to eat in the kitchen and talk to him while he cooked and we were also able to meet the other guests. We had a good sized twin room and the beds were extremely comfortable and the shower was hot and powerful. Our two night stay was so reasonably priced and it suited our needs perfectly. Thank you for having us.

The dogs did keep us awake the first night as they were missing Claire but the following night we heard nothing and had a really good sleep.

Gorgeous rural location away with everything. The grounds and countryside around were beautiful. So very peaceful. Silver room was gorgeous . Claire was super welcoming and cooks a super breakfast! Her dogs are adorable. My Cockapoo adored being able to run freely outside . Claire set up a table and chairs for us to have our picnic outside for supper and we couldn’t have had a more perfect night watching the sunset.

Not a thing. It exceeded expectations having being described on the site as “no frills… two star”. This is Claire’s lovely home which needs to be respected.. and her incredibly low costs reflects this. It is such good value for those wanting to be away from it all

Fantastic Host booked late 8.30pm Got a nice message we're making up your room and a call to confirm. The room so clean and the decor is amazing Self Check in perfect touch WiFi is really good TV has a firestick so so much to watch The Room is huge too Just an easy friendly service from booking to leaving the next day Really nice touch is on the corridor there's a fridge and microwave for guests to use along with glasses of you want to take a drink of wine or something with you I will be stopping here again no doubt

Location Is great, a beautiful house in the middle of Dorset countryside, surrounded by horses, cows, hens and 3 lovely lovely dogs! Great place where to stay if you are visiting Dorset and want to enjoy even more the peace and quiet :) the little window on the sealing of our room made us enjoy every night the starry sky and the moon, clearly visible in the pitch black of the night :)

Claire was a fab host. We sat and chatted with her over a nice breakfast in her cosy kitchen. The silver room was comfortable and the shower was better than the one at home 😂 It is what it says, a no frills b&b but it’s all you need if you just want to get your head down and have a breakfast. We were very respectful of the rules as we were very aware that we were in someone’s house and not a hotel. Excellent value for money. The Fox inn is just a few minutes drive away and is very friendly with great food. We would definitely stay here again and will recommend to our friends

Nothing it was all great

I was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful location.. On entering the long country bumpy road leading to almost a farm house with lovely horses on one side and a scenic view on the other side it felt very idyllic. On getting out of the car the was a real sense of freedom , calmness.. I met Clare who was extremely friendly and approachable. On entering the house you go back in time feeling like you are in a traditional farm house with the kitchen having a beautiful full length Wooden table for breakfast.. My bedroom was cosy and suitable for one person.. Clare's son Alex kindly showed me the other available rooms which was really lovely with great views.. Alex made me a fantastic vegetarian fry up which I very much appreciated. On my last day Clare made breakfast and we sat with other guests around the farmhouse table.. Clare offers a family environment which almost from home to home without the lastest commodities.. I would most definitely return.. Thank you Clare & Alex xx

My room didn't have a window. A little to much oil when cooking

We felt this a was a very homely simple bed and breakfast accommodation. The landlady was very welcoming and breakfast was served in her kitchen shared with her other guests. The room was clean and comfortable and fine for a two night stay. Good location for us in the Dorset countryside very close to where we needed to be during the day.

We were able to tell our landlady what improvements she might wish to follow up on. Shower screen was broken. We think guests might wish to access regular TV channels other than streaming services. being in such a unfamiliar rural location it would be useful if the landlady put a small list of best places to eat and their contact details on her notice board for future reference.

We both loved the rural farm setting along with being welcomed at the gate by one of the resident wild pheasants, resplendent in his bright plumage. Our booking was very ‘last minute,’ but Clare and Sarah made us feel so welcome. After a great nights sleep we were treated to a beautiful ‘full English’ breakfast and hospitality, sitting around the table in the farm house country kitchen.

Superb! Claire was a very welcoming host as were Bessie and Esme the family dogs💕 A lovely room with everything we needed and a delicious breakfast in the morning. Having read some other reviews I was concerned about the driveway leading up to the B&B but it was no problem so please don't let this put you off visiting Pleck Barn!
