Great, professional service, welcoming and as expected. Food was excellent with varied choice rom was quirky as old building, bedding soft, bathroom ideal for us. Dogs were welcomed and place was very busy yet we were looked after well. Could walk dogs and had front door key. Generally quiet village...could see the stars as no light pollution.
Some smokers out front in the night (02:40) and a little noise as they went to bed, (water pump to bathrooms?), then the church bells chimed at 3a.m! Didn't hear anything after that until 6 (our dogs) and a very distant cock crowing. Lovely sounds of real life and the countryside, so had some charm about it. Definitely nothing to complain about.

We stayed at the venue with our daughter with her family and used it as a base for visiting my mother in law in Sherborne and a cousin of mine who lives at Burton Bradstock. It was very easy to visit both on different days. The room was adequate for our needs and the food and beer were excellent. My only concern was that there were only Pizzas as a choice for the Saturday evening meal, a typical pub meal would have been good as well, such as a meat pie and chips. Breakfast was well catered for, with a spread for everyone ton take what they liked from. We are planning to come and stay again next year to visit the same relations again, we just need to finalise the details nearer the time.
Parking allocation for those staying, as against just visiting for a drink or meal.

The hotel is in a lovely location, very idyllic. We used to live not far from it and often enjoyed a Sunday Lunch there. Some wonderful improvements have been made in the 8 years since we moved away, the décor of the pub and the garden are just beautiful, the hard work that's gone in to it is very clear for all to see. Our room was large, comfortable and exceptionally clean with lots of sensible storage for clothes/luggage etc. Nicely laid out with tea and coffee making faculties plus fresh bottled water daily. It's an old building and we loved the fact that the floors were uneven and the drains so old and noisy, it added an authentic charm to the place. We didn't have breakfast during our stay because of early morning departures. However, if dinner was anything to go by then it would have been fabulous. Excellent variety of menu choices and was also utterly delicious. There's a wonderful atmosphere in the pub, a the staff were so friendly and helpful, not ingratiatingly so, they just really seemed to enjoy making sure the guests were all happy. Everyone had a fantastic work ethic and there was an easy atmosphere created by that culture. Service was prompt, efficient and given with a genuine smile, which makes such a difference. The hotel advertises itself as "dog friendly" and they didn't just pay lip service to it. We didn't take our dogs but were really heartened to see the way the staff catered for the dogs too. With so many village pubs closing down, how nice it was to see the locals using the pub. The owners should be so proud of what they have achieved. All in all a wonderful stay and we would love to stay there again.
Struggle to find something I didn't like but if it had to be anything it would be the hair dryer, it was a bit small and took an age to dry my hair. It was also fixed to the wall in a corner so it was quite awkward to use. It doesn't really matter though because there were so many things to love about the place. I'll just take my own hair dryer next time I go.

I can't sing the praises enough of the staff, we had a bad accident with our rental care right by the Arms in which my wife was injured and needed emergency services. The staff made calls for me to the police and the ambulance service. In addition they iced my wife's broken arm and even found an emergency nurse in the neighborhood who could do an initial assessment of my wife. Oh yes they also got a group of neighbors to move our rental car off of the small road that the car was partially blocking. Finally as we drove away in the ambulance, they took charge of our luggage that we left behind and even offered to deliver our luggage to our next hotel. Truly a remarkable response. We are so grateful.

Beautiful location, great facilities, really lovely food. Amazing beer garden. Breakfast was sensational on the Saturday, and the beer garden was a great place for my two little ones to run around early morning, away from the road and great space. Even though downstairs seemed busy we couldn’t hear anything once upstairs in our room, so a nice nights sleep for us all.
Car park got a little busy in the evenings, but once a few people left it was easy to get the car in safely.

The staff were all very helpful and the food was excellent. The garden was beautifully kept, unfortunately the weather wasn't good so we weren't able to make use of it. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable.
It would have been nice to have had some chairs in our room and a table for the kettle instead of the shelf. The window did not open and although the weather was cool we like to have fresh air at night.

This is a great little country inn located at the heart of a sublimely beautiful village. The food is exceptionally good (both in quality and value), and the staff very friendly and a credit to the place. Sure, a few minor maintenance and decorating issues could be addressed, but I would not want to overstate their importance. I would definitely stay again and probably will.

Lovely village location. Pleasingly bustling pub/ restaurant, not noisy for guests staying overnight. Evening meal was great and an excellent gathering place for our friends and family to meet in. Staff were friendly and professional. Required to pre-order meals for party of 12 and billing was confusing! Otherwise, a very pleasant stay in a large double room, ensuite, dogs allowed (£10 surcharge/dog). Highly recommended!
Kettle dangerously placed on narrow, high shelf by TV. Couldn't see to make hot drinks unless 6'tall! Garden inaccessible at present. (Plenty of other local walks for dogs). Meals could've been billed separately by staff, as initially requested, not left to guests to sort out after meal!

The rooms were clean and comfortable Food was OK but nothing special if anything a little over priced for basic pub grub . However it was a very old pub with lots of character so we forgave the noisy plumbing.
Breakfast was on the small side for £ 15 pp . When asked for a latte was told No as they don't turn the machine on that early . The alternate was like warm coffe from a jug . On checking out we were charged an extra £10 for our dog. Considering it was advertised as dog friendly and he wasn't fed or supplied with anything, I was surprised. Be aware of this hidden charge , I did not see it when I booked .

Will be highly recommending this place to family and freinds. Doing everything right, keep up the good work, well done to the entire staff, and The Boss and Boss Lady...😎👍😂
