Lovely setting - just far enough out of town and surrounded by gardens. Warm welcome and very accommodating for my request to park the car in the morning and do some formalities before official check-in time (although this is only possible until 10am). Great breakfast and lovely staff. Some aspects of Kerrington House will be a bit marmite - some will love them, others may not share the style. If you're looking for stripped-back, functional minimalism then this isn't the place -- the furnishings were very plush. Also the owner has an extraordinarily large dog who's very gentle and very much part of the team but it's better to be aware in advance.
I liked everything about the place but it's very characterful so my plus points might not be shared by everyone but if you do your research in the descriptions and photos then you'll know whether it's right for you.

Very welcoming and friendly. A great place to take a break from your journey or stay longer. It's a home from home experience. I found it very relaxing after a long day. The room has everything you need and was very comfortable. It is a place I would return to on another occasion. Clean and tidy, with plenty of hot water & soap. Tea and coffee in the room. Breakfast was a great experience. Made to order and great choice was on offer, also was a great portion size. I would recommend it to family and friends. It is in walking distance (approximately 9 minutes) from the train station and bus services.
Sorry I have nothing to say. It was all good.

We were warmly welcomed on a damp and dismal day. Offered a choice of rooms and the one we chose was large, well furnished and very clean. There was ample lighting, including good bedside lamps which is not always the case. The refreshment tray was very well stocked with a large selection of beverages and biscuits. The wet room was large with plenty of towels and toiletries. The breakfast, in the attractive dining room, was freshly cooked to order and excellent with plenty of choice. Would stay here again if in the area and definitely recommend.
Nothing!

The standard of cleanliness at the hotel was very high and the bedroom stylish and comfortable with a good supply of fresh fluffy towels. There were welcome biscuits and chocolate available in the room along with a good selection of hot drinks and bottled water. Very homely.
I was aware that the proprietor had a dog but had not thought that it would be allowed in the main hotel areas. As I am allergic to dog hair, I would never book accommodation that allowed pets. However, when I mentioned my allergy to the proprietor, she ensured that her dog was kept away from key areas during my stay.

Very comfy mattress. House was lovely and decorated in keeping with the architecture. Loved having 2 arm chairs in our room. Beautiful guest lounge with honesty bar.
Check in arrangements/time did not suit us. There was no flexibility in Check in time or provision of a self Check in option for late arrivals. The bed had a metal 4 poster style frame around and over the mattress which was awkward to negotiate when getting in and out of the bed.

Owner and host, Fiona is very welcoming. Nice room and comfortable beds. We were 3 friends travelling together and were able to have a room with 3 single beds. There were nice touches in the room such as bottled water and biscuits to go with the tea and coffee selection. Great breakfast that is cooked to order with lots of choice, in a lovely little dining room. Very conveniently located for a walk into Axminster and a drive to surrounding places of interest.

Fiona the host welcomed us and was very personable and accommodating. Room, lounge (with honesty bar) and garden were fantastic. Breakfast was superb. Only a short 10-min walk away from Axminster's shops and restaurants and 10-min drive to Lyme Regis so perfect location for anyone exploring the Jurassic Coast.
Our triple room was up two flights of stairs, so was a little bit of an effort with suitcases, but couldn't be helped.

Because the B&B was not full we (a couple) had a large family room. They provided generous tea/coffee, biscuits, chocolates, milk - enough for a large family. Breakfast was excellent (eg porridge with whisky in a cut glass whisky glass). Hostess was charming and informative. Although Axminster may not be an obvious destination it is very well situated for getting to Lyme Regis, Sidmouth and many other charming towns and villages along and away from the coast.
Really, nothing. It was a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Kerrington House is a wonderful property. it offers all of the comfort of a stately home rather than a hotel. On site parking at no extra charge, secure building in a beautiful homestyle location. Far enough away to be quiet and comfortable but close enough to be convenient. Much nicer than a chain group hotel. You also get incredible views from the Bay Window!
Nothing.

Room was superb with lots of space including a sitting area overlooking the gardens Breakfast was great too
Small detail but asked at breakfast what we needed replenishing in our room and had to quickly think on our feet as to what we wanted and when we returned after breakfast was quite surprised to find staff in our room - which we found odd knowing we hadn’t left the hotel yet Small detail but just a bit odd in our opinion
