The staff were very friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was excellent. Everything kid of food was provided and the quality was very good. Dinner was also good quality. The room was clean, everything was working and you had all you needed. There was plenty of parking and in proper spaces, not squashed. The location was excellent, as right on the seafront with the small town behind.

This is our second stay. Its ideal for my elderly mother ( aged 89). It has a lift, we book a room with a balcony so she can look out over the esplanade which is over the road. We like the walk-in shower and its so easy to walk in to the town which lovely and flat so idea. Sidmouth is a lovely lively little town with plenty of shops , cafes etc. The staff are also very helpful and friendly and the food as we had both breakfast and dinner was very good. The hotel is ideal for elderly people and I noted several guests in wheelchairs although there are i think 4 shallow steps to the front door.

The location & staff were 5 stars. We arrived earlier than planned and the receptionist was friendly and allowed us to drop our bags while we parked up at the long stay car park. The room was very clean if smaller than we were expecting. The bed was super comfortable too.

The room was extremely hot and stuffy, the window was designed to only open partially which is no fault of the hotel but there was no fan available and no drinking water in the room so during the night was incredibly uncomfortable we barely slept. A fan would be essential if staying in summer

The location and the breakfast were both lovely. The breakfast staff were very friendly and accommodating. Particularly Tima and Ernest.

The room was smaller than we anticipated given the cost, and the condition of the walls and woodwork were grubby. The cleanliness of the bathroom left a lot to be desired. The room was shabby and needed decorating. The toilet flush push button was broken off, the grab rail in the shower wasn't secured to the wall properly. The bathroom was dusty, and the floor had hair in the corners. There was a lot of noise from other rooms and it needed better soundproofing.

Great staff - friendly, helpful and efficient. Breakfast menu was extensive and flexible, and very well-cooked and presented. Great location, as we were visiting for the Folk Festival and were right in the middle of things!

Our shower had no hot water on two occasions during our stay. We reported the problem, and it was solved later in the day, but it still left us without a morning shower! The toilet seat in our en-suite (Room 32) was loose and needs tightening. The edge of the dressing-table/counter has chunks out of it, either due to heat or accidental damage. The small window above the double doors to the Juliet balcony does not open.

Excellent location, close to shops and food outlets. Our room number 1 couldn't have been better, right on the front with sea just across road. As my mother has mobility issues this was perfect. Room was beautiful, facilities excellent. Service was perfect and staff friendly and helpful. Great access to my car in designated space at rear. Hotel was practically silent at night. Even though we were facing onto the patio, we couldn't hear anything. Comfiest bed I have ever slept in. Breakfast was excellent with great choice.

I didn't dislike anything. There wasn't anything going on in the evening is about all I could mention but it wasn't really a problem as it was a short stay.

Breakfast was lovely, Everything you could want, good mix of foods The staff run off their feet tho , Just want to say a shout out to a young lad named Jamie he was a lovely friendly lad Very down to earth for a young lad, very polite nothing was to much trouble Enjoyed chatting to him ,good sense of humour, quick witted, Be proud to have this young man working for you !! Please tell him we said so too 🙏 another quick shout out for tima , Hussain .

No heating in the rooms , also very cold in the bar area We went for a drink in there with friends but we moved to another pub because of how cool it really was

We paid more for a balcony room which was amazing, well worth the extra. Clean bedding and room. Staff were amazing but the server with a flash of colour in his hair was very attentive and stood out for his excellent service and smile. Great to be able to cross the road for a swim at anytime. Great lift for disabled guests. Good blackout curtains.

If you didn't take a 7am Shower, it was luke warm in the mornings, just bearable tepid on the hottest setting. Afternoon showers and evening showers were hot. Door was open when we came back up to the room (actually ajar) after leaving a do not disturb sign on the locked room. Nothing missing, just a bit worrying.

All the staff were friendly, professional and helpful throughout our short stay. The Elizabeth went above and beyond for us to ensure our stay was Special, as we celebrated our 30th Wedding Anniversary. We would like to Thank Everyone and are now going to plan another visit later in the year. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast, a large selection was available to choose from. Great location on the sea front, staff very friendly and helpful, comfortable rooms and a great breakfast. We've stayed here for many years - in the last two years the food in the evening wasn't great, but pleased to find that it's now improved again. Fish dishes were especially good.

We try to save on washing by re-using towels, but when one was dirty and left on the floor as requested, it wasn't replaced. Help-yourself coffee after dinner was appreciated, but it would be good have decaffeinated coffee available as well.
