Everything was perfect. After a long 6 hour journey on the car park called the M5 I was rewarded by this lovely country Inn/Restaurant in the glorious Somerset countryside. I stayed in Room 1 for one night to break my journey to south Devon. The room was extremely comfortable with a huge double bed , fantastic bathroom with wetroom type shower and a large bath. A filter coffee machine was also provided. My evening meal was a very tasty seafood curry followed by a roulade dessert, all for £19. The view from the dining room looked out over the Blackdown hills and was complimented by a wonderful sunset. I will definitely put the Flying Fish top of my list of places to stay in Somerset.

Room was spacious and very clean. Bathroom was again large although the wet-room shower could become slippery after showering. The shower itself was fully pumped and nicely hot. Breakfast was serve yourself cereals, fruit juice, tea or coffee and toast plus freshly cooked breakfast of your choice. Whilst the breakfast menu was small the host was extremely accommodating and would cook whatever food was on the menu i.e. you didn't have to have a full English but could mix and match. Parking was outside your allocated room and made it easier to unload the suitcase etc.

Nothing of any significance apart from the shower floor becoming slippery when wet (shower was an open wet room style).

Very friendly staff. Amazing location. Great for keen walkers or runners. Beautiful view over the hills and woodlands from the restaurant window. The beds (pillows and mattress) are very comfortable. The towels are fluffy and smell very fresh. The room is very clean. Bed linen is crispy fresh, ironed. Good breakfast with plenty of nice coffee, fresh orange juice, and, of course, cooked food.

The only point that was not comfortable to us, it was the bathroom door lock. It has a Suffolk latch. Although it is in the theme with stables, it makes a lot of noise when used during the night. I wish they would fit something softer/quieter. I suppose it's ok if only one person stays in the room.

The Food was excellent. Good quality meats used and cooked to perfection. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Location very pleasant with stunning views of the countryside. The accommodation was very spacious, the room cosy and the bed was excellent. Would definitely consider staying again.

Not much to dislike but shower wasn't great. The shower head was small. Perhaps a curtain and anti slip mat wouldn't go amiss as water splashed into the bathroom and this made the floor slippery and my other half nearly fell over as a result. Also the bathroom fittings were a little discoloured. Again, maybe the fittings and decor were in need of refurbishment.

Large room & wet room, big comfortable bed had an excellent nights sleep, very quiet. Everything looks clean & modern but cosy. Kettle & coffee machine provided with ample supplies & biscuits. Only nine rooms set on one side of courtyard with parking directly outside. Attractive looking beer garden, bar & restaurant a few steps across the courtyard with friendly service & serving delicious food. We had the Turkey pie & jerk pork, followed by the chocolate dessert of the day, a very rich torte, it was all reasonably priced & yummy. Breakfast included in the overnight price is cereal, yoghurts, full English or omelet. The countryside surroundings are very picturesque. Stopped for one night on our way down to Cornwall & wish we had booked for a night on the way back, would most definitely recommend.

Incredibly clean and fresh. All facilities were high quality. The wet room shower was powerful and hot, often a bugbear for me! The mattresses were extremely comfortable, we slept so well. The eatery view was outstanding and the food was delicious. The friendly, welcoming nature was an absolute treat! Parking right outside our door made life very simple. Oh and a comfortable little porch area for enjoying the sunsets. Bliss.

Warm welcome for our overnight stay en route to Cornwall. Tasty and tender carribean curried goat on the British/Carribean menu.Such a treat to find such flavours in the middle of the English countryside.(Great views.) Our room was spacious,immaculate,with a huge and very comfortable bed.Bath and wet room style shower. A substantial full english breakfast (other choices available)set us up on our way,served by the lovely Zoe.

Well-equipped, clean and spacious accommodation, easy access from the car parking area on a very similar level. Super-friendly host and great breakfast cooked exactly to order, bright and airy dining room with all facilities.

One minor issue was the humming from the adjacent plant room adjacent to our double room, this continued on/off most of the night. Unlikely to have affected any of the other rooms in the block.

Spotless, very large super king bed, large rooms, every single staff member extremely helpful, friendly and efficient. Order the Caribbean food on the menu if eating here as that is what they specialise in

The plastic doors to the rooms are annoying. You have to part close them with the key to get them to close, and they just aren’t in keeping with the rest of the place. But, that is a minor quibble as the staff and the rooms generally more than make up for it.

Lovely rooms, great facilities super comfy bed and very clean, being in the grounds of the Pub is a big bonus good food and drink in a family friendly place, Kate and her team were Fab, nothing was too much little touches like extra biscuits and hot chocolate for the kids was kind. The location is great for exploring both Somerset and the Jurassic coast.

There wasn't anything we didn't like, our expectations based on price and the information provided on Booking.com were exceeded.
