Brilliant breakfast with very good range of choices for cooked food plus good range of cereals, juices etc. Good range of choice on the dinner menu. Excellent spacious room (no.2). The outstanding feature of The Hatch is the staff, they are very friendly and accommodating….we could not fault them! The Hatch is dog friendly (we are not dog owners) and we encountered no problem with noise or any other issues from other residents dogs.

The shower is in the bath which is high sided and a bit awkward to get into. No non slip mat or rail in the bath to assist getting in and out safely.

Everything was delightful from the moment we walked in the staff were welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We had room 2, king, which was spacious very clean and had a fan which was so thoughtful, especially in this heat Nice touches like fresh milk available in fridge along the corridor, lovely toiletries, and lovely decor. We eat in the pub, not typical pub grub, great select menu and Evie our waitress was so helpful. We had salmon and steak both equally fresh, great ingredients and fresh home cooked. The chef should get extra commendation. Breakfast was equally great, locally sourced fresh produce, beautifully made scrambled egg and lovely cup of tea. The outside of the pub doesn't do it justice, lovely village, great pub and fab food. Fantastic stop to break our journey from Bedford to Portleven. Loved it all, I might put bottled water in room or fridge where milk is kept but we asked for a jug with ice and got one to take tour room

The room was exceptionally quite .the public house had Morris dancers on that evening , We never heard a thing! The room was big and spacious spotlessly clean with everything you could need .There was a fridge in the hall with little bottles of fresh milk for your use.The breakfast was very good and best of all it was hot when it arrived to us.lovely friendly staff an all round pleasant experience.

We arrived a little early and it would have been nice to have had the Chance of a drink.But we understand the pressures on pubs these days They have to do what’s best for them to survive.

Improvements we thought would make it better 1, Give one breakfast card per person to fill out 2, a box of tissues in the room 3, a light over the mirror in the bedroom so you can see to do hair/make-up 4, a shelf in the shower to put shower gel on 5, non-slip mats available for the shower. To state on the advert that food is not served every evening

British hospitality at its best. I was totally charmed by this rural escape. I was staying in what was apparently the smallest room but it was a decent double for an older property and plenty of space for me. Beautifully decorated with a stunning new bathroom, but in a traditional pub. A really lovely balance of quaint old tavern with pretty style and comfort. But the highlight for me was the lovely team. They could not have been more welcoming and made me feel properly looked after while giving me the space to work and relax. I enjoyed the most declious supper in the restaurant and breakfast was just as good. My epic slice of Sticky toffee pud will make me smile for weeks to come! I will return.

If you are looking for modern anonymity in a city centre, this may not be for you, but for me the Hatch Inn was perfect in every way.

Everything about The Hatch Inn was absolutely perfect in my opinion. The room was cosy and warm and well maintained and tidy. The shower was powerful. i forgot my hair drying and found one in the wardrobe which was an absolute life saver. The room came with a huge variety of teas and coffees. The inclusive breakfast was absolutely amazing and beyond expectations. A quiet little village that felt in the middle of no where but also only short drive from Taunton town (10 minutes). will definitely be returning to try legendary roast dinner. Thanks again.

The floor boards are a-bit noisy but i would not expect anything less from an 18th century building. not a single complaint.

Lovely appearance, both inside and out. The room was spotlessly clean, with crisp, ironed, white bedding on a comfortable bed. The ensuite was immaculate. The King room had great views of the surroundings, with a window seating area. The seating areas inside and out, were carefully thought-out and well-presented. This hotel was expertly organised, down to the mini-fridge for milk, outside the bedroom, along with a basket for our breakfast order-forms. We had a restful, peaceful night.

We have no complaints. Everything was as described and better.

We liked the whole experience of the hatch inn. The room we stayed in was massive very comfy and nice sized bed. Added bonus of a coffee machine. Fresh milk was available if you wanted. We booked breakfast for 8am which was served up on time. The cooked breakfast was amazing. Nice fresh produce. Could also help yourself to cereal yogurt and fresh apple/orange juice. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The atmosphere of the hatch inn was very calm and chilled. Would 100% stay here again and would recommend anyone else to the same.

Such a beautiful inn. The room itself was clean, tidy, and the temperature was perfect. The bed was super comfy and I loved the sheets! Great facilities including a top quality shower, toiletries, tea and coffee plus fresh milk bottles. This was only 12 minutes from Taunton Racecourse, and plenty of parking. The food was super-tasty. The breakfast was served fresh, with tea and coffee. I ordered a chickpea curry which was filling and the best I have had for a while. I was so full I couldn’t have pudding (but wish I did). The drink selection was vast - and I loved their wines. The best part was the staff. From the moment I got there I was made to feel welcome, and they walked me to my room. From breakfast to dinner, check-in to check-out this was the best service I have ever had. I will 100% come again.

Good car park , friendly team , we had 2 of the 5 bedrooms for our stay and they were beautifully presented . Clean , warm and comfortable beds , quiet night . Additional facilities such as tea , coffee , water , biscuits and fresh milk were a lovely touch . Dinner was really good, the mussels were delicious and the calamari was fresh , tender and cooked in a crispy batter . The steak pie and chickpea / cashew nut curry were equally delicious. Very attentive service throughout. Breakfast ( we had the full English ) was nicely presented and good quality . Overall an absolute must to visit if you’re travelling on as we were to Falmouth the next day . Oh and the bar had a great atmosphere for a pre dinner drink . Thank you very much x
