Loved the food, both dinner and breakfast were totally excellent. We really enjoyed the Asian/Malaysian-inspired offerings (like beef rendang) and thought they were deliciously authentic. The owners and staff were wonderful. We also liked the hotel’s cosy decor, attractive furnishings and the overall pleasant feel inside the building.

The aircon was terrribly weak for a warm summer day, we could barely get cool air out of it. This meant that we had to open the windows at night which created street noise inside the room. The town itself (Chard) had definitely seen better days; some of the surrounding streets were pretty run-down.

Our first visit to Chard. Lovely hotel and amazing host. On arrival, we were given an upgrade. We stayed in Sukura, the room was very clean & comfortable. Breakfast is very good too, all cooked fresh. We would definitely stay here again if and when we return to Chard. We would highly recommend this hotel and would love to try the restaurant next time. A family member has just moved to Chard and will be recommending this hotel, too. Thank you for a lovely stay.

There was nothing that we didn't like. Everything was above our expectations.

Breakfast was great with a wide choice of dishes. Lunch and dinner of a very high standard, traditional with a modern and/or Asian twist. Reasonably priced. Nothing was too much trouble and I was made to feel part of the family. Karine, Shin and Ron are kind people who do a lot for their regular customers, particularly older ones, and for the community as a whole.

More than happy with this hotel. Easy to find, quick and friendly check-in. Room was small but had a good feel. As I was travelling alone it was a good size but it might be over cosy for 2 people over several days. It was very clean with all that you needed for a stay - tea, coffee, hot chocolate and bottled water. Unusually there was also air con in the room (Bluebells) which I didn’t use but must be handy on warm nights. I decided before the stay not to eat in at the hotel but instead go to a local pub for grub. Bad decision as there is little to offer in Chard, sadly, in the way of good pub food (Wetherspoons was the best (never thought I would write that!)). Breakfast was tasty, plentiful and well presented. I would use again if staying in Chard - and next time eat in.

I would guess parking might be an issue at busy times. I parked roadside very near to the hotel (20 metres) where parking is permitted 6pm (I arrived at 6:30 pm) to 8am, plus you then have an hour’s stay - so move car by 9 am and you’re safe. The hotel does however have 2 spaces at the rear so all might be okay, but I think worth knowing for future travellers.

What an absolute gem of a property. Right in the town centre!! Staff were a total delight and really helpful and friendly - especially when we mentioned we might be moving to the area. Restaurant served the most amazing food. We would definitely stay here again

The only comment I could make in this area is that the bed was a bit creaky and parking slightly confusing. Only 2 spots which were hard to find, even with directions (maybe a sign to confirm where you can part as a patron of the hotel). Did not spoil our stay however.

The food was exceptional and the rooms very clean.

The first day we had breakfast once finished we were asked if we would like more toast of which we said yes please. On the second morning once we finished our breakfast we didn’t get asked if we would like more toast and we were still a little hungry and didn’t want to be rude and ask. We also left the please clean the room sign on the door on the Saturday and when we returned it hadn’t been done. But a lovely stay anyway,thank you.

Amazing gem of a hotel with a great restaurant downstairs. Checkin was efficient and personal, which was a nice touch. Room was clean, warm, and well equipped. Ate in the restaurant for dinner. Set menu on a Tuesday which was a little disappointing as I'd seen the a la carte menu on the internet and really wanted to to try it, however the set menu was delicious, and great value for money (although no choice, so good job I liked what was on the menu!) All the staff were great, so friendly and welcoming. Bed really comfy and I slept well. Breakfast was delicious again, good selection to pick from. I had salmon and poached eggs. Perfectly cooked. Parking available on the street outside free after 6pm until 8am. I think there was another carpark nearby if you need to park longer than overnight. Will definitely be back when I'm in the area.

Amazing breakfast, fresh and well presented, plenty of choice. The hostess was very approachable and professional but friendly in the right way too. Comfortable and spacious room. The restaurant food was delicious and eating there really relaxed atmosphere. Central location for town but remarkably quiet.

I can't think of anything, I'll definitely return if I have the opportunity.

The breakfast choice was very varied and cooked fresh when you sat down at your table. The service received was very good as well. Staff were friendly and attentive without being in the way. My wife and I were visiting family and spent a lot of time at the hotel but there were no rules about staying out between certain hours and we were able to come and go as we pleased.

to be totally honest there was nothing to complain about except perhaps the car park. It was not easy to find and very limited.

Everything! Lovely little hotel in the centre of Chard. Ensuite king-size double bedroom which was immaculate. Excellent breakfast. Small family run business. The owners are very welcoming and it was a joy to chat with them. They provided us with a lovely relaxed stay. As a small hotel (6 rooms), it provides a personal touch that you wouldn't get from a larger commercial hotel.

The dining room/restaurant is small as you might expect but the food and service were excellent
