Upon arrival the owner warmly welcomed me there in the lounge area. Room had been pre-inspected before my check-in as the side lights in the room were already on. Bed and pillows were very comfortable, room was clean and well equipped as there was even a Nespresso coffee machine in my room! Surrounding area to my room was quite and heard no other guests. Plenty of free parking on site. The owners clearly make an effort in there hospitable approach to their guests.

NOT the guest house issue but the area as my mobile when visiting Somerset has problems with internet connection generally, so the guest house system of scanning a QR code to pre-book breakfast had its issues.

Warm welcome on arrival, everything explained. First time I have ever had to scan QR code to chose my breakfast but it wasn't an issue. The breakfast was very good and the WiFi also. Quite quiet as it is set back a little way from the main road and only 10 minutes walk to the centre. fair sized car park.

No chair in the room and nowhere to work on the laptop. The walls are paper thin and I could hear every word from the next room. I had to knock on the wall and ask them to keep the noise down, finally got to sleep around 1am. The shower ran hot and cold, fluctuating quite a bit.

Jamie and Gary were great hosts. The room was well equipped and the bed was very comfortable. We’re were there on a hot day but the supplied fan kept the room nicely cold. The view was tremendous.

We were on the second floor which was only accessible via very steep stairs. We had a lot of kit with us, so getting everything to and from the room was a struggle. The ceiling height in the room was low at one side. Fortunately, my wife is petite and managed round that side of the bed okay. I would have struggled.

Extremely clean. Good location & parking facilities. Rooms were spacious for the combination that we booked for our party. Prebookable breakfast was a bonus, especially when we had an early start on the Sunday morning. Very welcoming and friendly staff. Would highly recommend if you want a good nights rest and a comfortable base for the surrounding area.

Our whole experience was fabulous! Our room was spotless with lovely decor, very comfortable bed and great shower with decent toiletries and towels. The breakfast was delicious and presented beautifully. The owners were very welcoming and helpful . Would definitely stay here again.

There is nothing to not like about this gem.

The Watermead House is located in an easily accessible location and has a spacious car park just next to the building. Also I really enjoyed having breakfast in the conservatory - it was very pleasant.

The washbasin in the bathroom was a bit small and hard to use, but I wouldn't consider that to be a major issue.

The guest house is very well maintained, clean and cozy. The staff is very welcoming and ready to satisfy your needs or requests. You can tell they put all their love in managing the place. Loved the soft bed sheets and towels, and comfortable bed. The room and bathroom very clean and cozy. Would be going back.

It would be nice to have no dairy/vegan options for breakfast, mainly plant-based milk. However, I did not request that in advance when I booked. So I recommend asking it prior to your stay for vegan/lactose free/gluten-free options, as I'm sure they'd be able to satisfy your request.

Spacious suite (upgraded!) with all new furnishings. Onsite parking. Hassle-free. Lots of breakfast choice. Nice staff and friendly atmosphere.

Digital key system - personal preference but just seems a bit OTT and door closing is noisy. Breakfast coffee should be freshly made to order at this price point, I feel.

Personal touch from the owners and lots of little extras to make sure you are comfortable

The attic room ceiling was a potential head hazard for getting around one side of the bed, but difficult to see how to arrange differently. Steep stairs ok for us but prior warning would be good just in case.

Hosts were excellent and knowledgeable about sights worth visiting. Travelling alone and felt very safe and secure at Watermead House. Good quality food and cooked to perfection. Room spotlessly clean with everything I required. Can’t speak highly enough of hosts and accommodations. Will definitely return.
