The hotel was great, clean and fresh. Staff were friendly and no issues really.

Getting to the hotel was an issue from the M25 due to road works. Also getting back on to the M25 the next morning took along time.

It’s probably easier to ask what I didn’t like about the property…which is nothing! I came for a 6 day stay after going through quite a turbulent time in my life, and Thatcher’s couldn’t have been a better place for me to recover. The hotel is gorgeous, welcoming & homely. The staff were nothing short of incredible, from reception, the bar/restaurant & housekeeping. Everyone was super friendly & were always ready with a smile & a chat…even after working until the small hours on NYE! I have to give a special shout out to the chef, as the food here is the best I’ve ever tasted. I sampled quite a lot of the dishes & every single one of them was exceptional. I can’t wait to bring friends & family back to enjoy & I can’t wait to stay here again.

We booked here for two nights as we were going to Chessington World of Adventure (30 mins from hotel) … we arrived and our family room (3) looked newly furnished, lovely decor, large clean, warm.. the only thing we would’ve wanted in our family room was a fridge- makes travelling with a toddler easier, especially with the milk etc. It didn’t dampen the stay as I had brought a cool box for our stay. We went to dinner that night.. we ordered and then food we had ordered they had ran out of- nothing else on the menu vegan, however we cannot complain as the chef came out the kitchen to discuss what he could make.. ended up with a veg risotto, which was lovely. Second night we ordered a Deliveroo (lots and lots of options on there) We were very impressed with breakfast both mornings… great option of continental and then 4 hot options (veggie breakfast, usual breakfast, porridge and eggs on toast) The veggie sausage was delicious- chunks of veg like green beans etc, rather than a processed frozen sausage. The continental was help yourself whilst your hot food arrived. Continental included croissants, pastry’s, marmite, jam, bread to toast, yoghurt, dried fruit, granola, cereal and juices. Staff were all very friendly during our stay. We would return if we needed to come back to the area. The bar, restaurant, reception, rooms are all very modern and clean decor. We wish it was nice weather as the garden looked lovely. Only thing we could say is that there was no lift to the family rooms (didn’t bother us as it was only a short walk up stairs with the pram), we heard guests from the bar when we were going sleep (again didn’t bother us as we understood it was a bar/pub before booking and it would be ideal to have a fridge in the room. The staff were all exceptional, friendly and professional. The bedroom was large and the beds were very comfortable. Everything was very clean. There were 2 chairs in the room which was much appreciated, so many hotels now only put 1 chair in the room - for 2 people! {so this was a bonus too}. Plenty of mirrors, good lighting, excellent hairdryer. Breakfast was quite good but took a little while to produce, black pudding is tricky to cook in most hotels and this was no exception I'm afraid, a bit of room for improvement on the overall cooking of the breakfast but good produce. Dinner menu was rather limited but the meal was good, everything was well cooked and hot. Family joined us for coffee in the garden the following morning and one had a snack off the brunch menu, this was well received and enjoyed. The gardens are beautiful and it was an extremely pleasant experience sitting in the sun, on very comfortable garden chairs surrounded by delightful trees and shrubs. Once again the staff were accomodating and nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them, always so pleasant. It was a truly lovely to see all the staff looking so smart and taking a great deal of pride in what they do, (so rare in nowadays) FULL MARKS to them all. You all made this a great stay for us. The shower floor was a bit slippy, perhaps one could be made available in the bathroom as I didn't know it was slippy until I stepped in. Overall a good shower.

Welcome and instructions for parking on arrival. Speed of breakfast service on the second day when cooked breakfast was requested on arrival in dining room. Parking close to accommodation. Allocation of room with easy access to car park, following request for quiet room with easy access for work bags.

Requested replacement shower gel & shampoo and replacement light bulb in bathroom on day 1, but none were remedied by day 2. Hot drinks at breakfast on day 1 took over 5 minutes to arrive. Whilst bed was nicely made on day 2, glasses and mugs were not refreshed. Curtain fixing needed replacement, but it did not impair sleep as there was sufficient additional overhang for blackout to work.

Breakfast was good and well presented and tasty: the person in charge was welcoming and she remembered our room number on the second day and greeted us accordingly. She also worked at reception and was helpful when I checked out. The toilet flush was not working properly and we asked for it to be fixed which was done.

The room was clean when we checked in. However, the toilet bowl was still dirty from the previous occupants and there was no toilet brush to clean it. So I had to use toilet paper to clean it. Furthermore, the little bin next to the toilet seat still had waste from the previous occupants. There were no tissues in the tissue box in the bathroom.I complained about this fact the next morning and the staff were apologetic. The tissue box was filled after we pointed out this fact a second time. The same applies to the toilet flush. The reaction time should be improved.

Convenient location and parking. Great breakfast with good service. Good value. Quiet room requested and it was. View of the car park but at least away from the road so I didn't mind that. When it is all refurbished it will be a really great hotel. I would use again and recommend.

I think the room had not been refurbished yet. Veneers on doors were peeling in places. There was a radiator rather in the way of easy access to the nearside of the fixed bed. The room was lit with ceiling spots which were too bright for my liking, not very cosy. The bathroom was rather small and cramped with nowhere to store towels. The shower was excellent.

Beautiful hotel in a lovely setting, staff were friendly and great and very helpful, bed was comfortable, shower was hot. Breakfast was great, and the evening meal was delicious. The property is clean with upto date decor, all very tastefully done, the bar area is large and set with lounge chairs which is very relaxing. We were very impressed by this hotel it's great value for the money. We had 3 rooms for our family members and can't praise this property and staff enough, would love to stay here again.

No plug, and too low a toilet for my disabled parents. Or handrails. Doors are very heavy to pull.

The staff from reception to the restaurant were kind and professional. The rooms were clean and has everything I required. The bar area was lovely and prices were good and the lunch from bar was spot on. Me and a fellow Royal Navy veteran had dinner and was disappointed as everything on the menu that a frier was required for wasn't on as it was broken we were told, this really did give us little choice and was considering getting a take away as there wasn't much choice . But ended up getting something we didn't really want and it seemed to take forever once ordered .The waiting stuff though was fantastic and pleasant lovely . That's the only issue we had sadly. But the hotel was lovely and would stay again.

Lack of selection on menu.

Breakfasts - a good selection of cooked and continental; looked after well by friendly, helpful staff; dining room is comfortable, spacious and relaxing with pleasant outlook over the front gardens.

Only one big disappointment... On our previous visit the week before we enjoyed a super Sunday lunch which was available up to 4-5pm on a 'just walk in' basis. On this latest visit we'd travelled 200 miles and timed the journey to arrive at 3pm so as to be in time for another lovely Sunday roast. Only to be advised on arrival that the policy had been changed (in the last week) so that Sunday lunches had to be pre-booked. We had not been advised of this on any email, not was this mentioned on Thatchers' website. Hungry and tired from our journey we pleaded to be squeezed in (as told the lunches were fully booked) but the booking person was adamant. We would have accepted it better if at least she had offered to check with the chef/kitchen, but 'no' was the firm reply.
