The grounds were really gorgeous to walk around and there were loads of great facilities and lovely decor eg. bar was gorgeous, the pool, the morning room to sit in the sun (even had board games). The bedroom was beautiful, clean and comfortable and breakfast was great. Also a pub within walking distance.

The room was a little warm and airless without the window open sometimes, but the room was beautiful, comfortable and spotless.

Hotel was superb , beautiful surroundings with good facilities. Staff were all there to make your stay relaxing and very friendly. Leisure facilities were enough for any keep fit enthusiasts. Comfy beds and nice size rooms.

Very warm room . Could of done with air con . We believe the rate we paid was probably why the room was probably not the most comfortable. A fan is supplied but noisy and you had no choice but to leave it on through the night as it was so hot and clamy. To be honest we couldn't knock our stay , if only the room wasn't so hot , our stay would of been completely satisfying.

Wotton House is a delightful, characterful hotel. We tried it and then chose it for a 2 night family stay to celebrate a big anniversary. The hotel is very clean, the beds comfortable, and the whole place seemed uncrowded, despite being well-booked. We enjoyed the indoor pool too. In the evenings we sat on the bar terrace watching the children in our group enjoy the beautiful large grounds - but not before enjoying a good wander ourselves to explore various features. We just had to watch the children stayed clear of the streams. The staff are friendly and responsive. All of our group recommended the great quality breakfast. The location is great too for exploring Dorking and the Surrey countryside. We could not have found a better venue for our purpose.

Not so much a dislike, but the evening dining menus didn’t accommodate children so well, and we had to go off-site for them.

My room was available early for me, which as I am 87, was a real bonus. Most comfortable bed, and bathroom facilities were excellent, though I did flood the floor (walk in shower)! The ambiance of the hotel was beautiful, with the accent on stately and very comfortable surroundings. Your Staff were kind, attentive and very accommodating. I was there for the wedding of Will and Robyn. Absolutely wonderful. Thank you.

It was a very hot weekend. I have a love/hate with air con, but the bedroom was hot. I did open a window slightly. My hot breakfast on Monday morning was cold. All other food was very tasty.

The drive down through the bluebell wood. to the tulip lined drive this stunning period home is set in the most beautiful grounds that are immediately kept. We stayed in the garden room having been upgraded so opening the door into the gardens was amazing. Our dog lived his best life enjoying lovely walks and having a cheeky homemade sausage at breakfast not to mention the numerous gravy bones from all the lovely staff. The staff were exceptional so warm, friendly and helpful. Especially Katrina and Fran they made our stay. Great pool to swim in too with a jacuzzi for a bit of relaxation afterwards.

Lovely grounds, even though there were weddings on both days that we stayed there wasn’t any noise. The hotel was lovely, and there were plenty of places to chill out. Well laid out and nice facilities.

We were on the second floor, it was a warm weekend and we couldn’t cool our room down, our fan didn’t work but my husband got a replacement which did but it wasn’t powerful enough to cool the room. The windows were small and didn’t open very wide due to security. We slept on top of the duvet but the heat was uncomfortable. The next morning we had to get ready for a wedding which was difficult due to the heat. When we went downstairs it was much cooler so it’s mainly the top floor which needs air conditioning.

Wotton House is a beautiful property with a long and interesting history. The building has been wonderfully restored and decorated and is very welcoming and comfortable. The gardens are also very interesting and lovely to stroll around with a fountain and Greek style temple. The staff are all very professional and friendly. Sheryl in the bar was so kind and helpful. When we had a problem with our room it was immediately sorted out by Maciek in a most pleasant and professional way. The bottle of Prosecco in our room was much appreciated and enjoyed. Thank you Wotton House for another lovely stay. We will be back later in the year.

We liked everything about it

The main building feels quite grand and it is set in stunning grounds - in good weather sitting out on the terrace is lovely. Relaxed atmosphere with many families and dogs. Staff were friendly and helpful. Price paid very reasonable - many big country house hotels will cost much, much more than this - was not expecting luxury for the price so overall it surpassed our expectations.

The newer annex has a more 'Premier Inn' feel compared to the more opulent original building. Pool is fine and clean but nothing special and gym quite basic. Rooms on top floor of annex very warm and stuffy despite weather not being particularly hot - I would worry these would be unbearable in summer.

The atmosphere was lovely – the garden, rooms, and breakfast were all very enjoyable. However, we experienced an unfortunate issue on our last day. There seemed to be a technical problem, and we received no information about it. I went down to the pool at 9:30 AM and planned to return to my room 45 minutes later to take a shower before checking out at 11. Unfortunately, the water was not running, and it did not come back until after checkout time. As a result, I had to leave the hotel without being able to shower. The reception area was very busy, and no one informed me of the reason for the water outage or offered an apology. This was disappointing, but aside from this incident, we were happy with our overall experience.

Breakfast was good, they need to increase the variety of cheese. The oil in fried eggs could be more delicious.(use butter)

I picked this hotel because of the facilities and surrounding grounds, which were perfect for walking with laid out woodland trails and formal gardens. The reception staff were warm and friendly and check-in and out, was quick and efficient. The room was inviting and comfortable, and I enjoyed being able to use the gym.

The only issue was the dinner staff who were not very well trained it seemed. We waited a good 5 minutes to be seated with staff passing us by - one stood right in front of us - without even acknowledging us. It was pretty shocking, but he morning staff made up for it. Totally different experience - the staff were friendly and professional.
