Staff levels were extraordinarily high, and nothing was too much trouble. The bar and restaurant in particular, but always a friendly receptionist to ask for help. We had a 1-year old and a 3-year old (a fussy eater) in our party and so we tested the waiters’ and the kitchen staffs’ patience more than normal. They really came through with flying colours. Well done them. For the price, our rooms and the common areas such as the lounge were above expectations. We were pleased with the environment and the committed and helpful vibe.

Arghh - no lift! With two separate members of our party having toddler and baby respectively, on the second floor, a lift would have been a life-saver. So much to-ing and fro-ing - naps etc. Never really thought of its effect on our party in advance, but any future booking would require all rooms on first floor - just one flight of stairs to go up. However, one of their second floor rooms was very nice and spacious, and a low camp bed provided for the toddler was no trouble.

The cliff hotel is perfectly positioned for the beach and bus stop. The whole hotel is clean and cared for, the bed was exceptionally comfy, I'm only sorry that I forgot to have a look to check what make it was, for future reference. I paid a bargain price for my room in the middle of December. Growing up in Great Yarmouth in the seventies I never imagined that I would ever be a guest at the cliff hotel. I loved it and would definitely look to stay there again when I return to the area.

I had a large breakfast the first 2 days, and didn't need lunch. It was standard hotel fare, and plenty of it. If the hotel would like advice on a better vegan offer to make them stand out, I know lots of vegans who'd be happy to help! The rooftop balcony is a lovely place to sit with a drink.

Just small niggles, mostly fixed rapidly by the staff. Eg, a small leak from the towel rail. I didn't like to fiddle in case I made it worse, but the duty manager fixed it in seconds. Eg2, I had a wonderful vegan dish in the restaurant on Monday, but they'd run out when I fancied another.

The hotel has a commanding spot overlooking the coast. Good twin room with plenty of space. The blond receptionist who greeted us on arrival and waved us off on departure was an excellent front of house person. We ate in the restaurant and the staff in there were also particularly friendly and attentive - with a special shout out to our brunette Michelle Keegan lookalike waitress. Great breakfast the morning of our departure.

A small point but the room had been full in the sun prior to our arrival so was rather warm until we were able to open the windows.

I stayed for a few days for my birthday. i had a sea view. I've had this room on several occasions. it's one of my favourite rooms, always clean and tidy.. the staff in the breakfast room are always lovely. All staff were lovely and welcoming, I truly think this hotel is a beautiful place to stay near a gorgeous beach.. hopefully be back soon..

The staff in the restaurant were also lovely, but did try to say my ribs were cold because I was outside instead of just warming them up like I asked.. the wings were piping hot. And the fire stand heater didn't have any gas when I'd asked for one as we were sitting under a table where the heating didn't work.

Great location. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food in the restaurant was excellent and drinks reasonably priced.

The room (204) we were allocated was awful. No drawer space. The tea/coffee tray was in the wardrobe so then had to be transferred to a bedside table so as to plug in the kettle. This used up all the space on the that table. Two stairs up and down to get to the bathroom. The door into the shower was very narrow so was difficult to get in and out.

Friendly welcome, lovely building, great views of the sea from the terrace. Great service from all staff. Sunday lunch fantastic. Easy parking. Room was very clean and comfortable with a sea view. Bar and dining areas very clean and welcoming with character features. The chef deserves a mention as all food was first class and thoroughly enjoyed. Great breakfasts too. The food was excellent and all the staff so friendly, efficient and attentive. Two members of staff deserve a big thankyou as they made our stay special. Molly on reception helped make our booking requests perfect and Maggie brightened our breakfasts with a great sense of humour. Both deserve a big thankyou and should be recognised by the management as outstanding in their customer service. THANKYOU MOLLY & MAGGIE.

I actually can’t say there’s nothing I don’t like about this hotel. It’s very clean a lovely place every room I’ve had so far. I’ve never ever had any problems. They’ve always very clean and they’ve always sort any problems which I’ve not yet had part from. I just didn’t like the biscuits what they left and they kindly soon change them not with one packet but a few different ones as well this lovely hotel looks out to the sea in their beautiful terrace bar area which has got heating but can be very chilly certain times of the year outstanding hotel

Nice rooms, even though an old building, rooms have been updated.A nice comfortable bed/shower nice and powerful. It's a lovely terrace attached to restaurant which you can eat on if the weather is good, has retractable roof and heaters. We will stay again at this hotel, exceptional for a UK hotel.

We chose a balcony room, overlooks roof tops with sea in distance. Unfortunately the ducting too,which started up in morning, you would hear this if you had the window open. But, it is nice to be able to step outside the room, rare for a UK hotel! Did not spoil our stay at all.

Brilliant to have a room overlooking the sea in the venue where a party we were invited to was being held. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Room was a good size, large bed . Especially liked the complimentary water and glasses. Although breakfast was not included in my booking we had the breakfast and it was great value. Good sized portions and very tasty.

Nothing that the hotel can influence but the bird noise from pigeons and seagulls right outside was an early wake up call!
