Mahons Hotel is the hub of the small town of Irvinestown. Everyone knows Joe "the boss" from Mahons. He is a great character with has lots of chat and never seems to be off form. Everyone in the town knows him and has a kind word about him. The room we had was very large and had a huge sumptuous bed in it. It was warm and cosy. Everything was spotless clean. We had food in the restaurant and it was really nice. Quite an old school menu but quality was not to be faulted. The banoffee pie was a delightful way to end the meal. Breakfast was really tasty, of good quality and you could have as much as you wanted. We had another great stay in Mahons.

The only slight downside was at breakfast. Previously the cooked portion of breakfast was ordered and served at your table. On this stay it was serve to you over a servery. There were a couple of occasions items did run out and there was a short wait. Good thing was that the items were cooked fresh and came out really tasty.

Really good location for visiting Enniskillen and Donegal on separate days. The hotel staff are lovely. This creates a warm and pleasant atmosphere. The hotel is very well maintained and our room was modern and spotless. The breakfast is very comprehensive and generous with many options on the menu. The evening dining experience is equally impressive with attentive waiting and an excellent menu. Finally, Irvinestown is a very quiet location at night, which makes for a good night's sleep.

There was nothing to dislike.

The owner (Joe) and staff are all exceptional hosts. The food is excellent, as is the choice of draft beers (inc Heverlee). Entertainment on both nights was first class. This was our second stay and we will be back again. No hesitation in recommending this friendly hotel to others including friends and family.

Just the ambiance of the hotel as walk in your greeted with genuine care & attention from the reception staff also the work that has been put in to give it a fresh clean feeling Also the rooms are of the very highest quality of comfort and the value for money other larger more established hotels ie Lough Erne The fort William grand central hotel should take note of what real genuine value for money is for a hotel Please Never lose that perfect factor of a perfect hotel God bless to all

Absolutely nothing & I mean nothing

It was our first stop on our first ever visit to the island of Ireland. Could not have been better. Beautiful big well equipped comfortable room. A pleasant welcome. Good Wi Fi. Free parking. Fabulous breakfast included and good value for money. Our evening meal and drinks in the bar were superb . Exceeded our expectations. The local popular are lucky to have such a place. We would make a point of staying again if and when we return.

Loved everything

Very friendly staff. Good food at both breakfast and dinner. Our double room was spotlessly clean, quiet and comfortable. Bed and breakfast rate and the cost of our excellent dinner on our first night was superb value for money.

Breakfast on one occasion was disorganised. Although the food was good some essentials were unavailable. Very little fresh fruit and no yoghurt. The cooked breakfast on order arrived without the tomato or mushrooms. The mushrooms arrived after I'd finished.

Lovley Hotel. Stayed here to do the culcaigh board walk. Excellent value for money and lovley atmosphere. Reception staff were excellent. Chicken maryland just ok but rest of food going to tables looked very good. Maybe just bad luck but wouldn't deter me from returning. A few noisy cars on the street at night but hotel can't be responsible for that. Handy to supervalu for forgetting supply's and nice wee village. Music on a Sunday night was a bonus in November. I'd highly recommend. Been here before and will return if they'll have me 😊

Option to have a room with a bath but I should have asked when booking not hotels fault. They were more than accommodating on my booking already. And moved my date without hesitation even though they didn't have to. A decaf option or herbal 🙏

Cracking little hotel! Entertainment excellent! Had a real buzz about it. Staff excellent and really well trained. Homely atmosphere.

Can't really fault hitel. Only gripe I had was you had to climb into the bath to get a shower. I have walking difficulties and had to have no shower. I didn't think about booking to ask if they had rooms with separate shower. My fault!!

Breakfast was Great! Shower was great. We are not a fan of duvet without a top sheet, so consequently either sweated or froze all night. The staff seemed very disinterested and bored except one local chick (in her 50s?) who was very chipper . Not a place to recommend too highly but ok.

Dinner was very average. Both of our meals were "ok". The hotel advertised award winning restaurant, but that certainly didn't come through with our meals. Frozen peas and corn for vege??? Sort of dried chicken and crusty other things. I asked for a sauce just to get some flavor. I've had worse meals, but certainly I've had better!

Great location for exploring many towns and countryside and travel across to the Wild Atlantic Way. Very comfortable stay in a hotel with friendly staff and a bar and restaurant with great food and drink at competitive prices. Breakfast was very varied and portions are very generous. Would highly recommend Mahon's if you enjoy all of the above.
