Firstly the location is nice at the edge of the village, the room was on the top floor (3floors) and was spacious with an en-suite, all nice. The breakfast was good, continental or cooked is offered. The host Kate is really nice and most helpful offering walks around the area or places to visit. Probably one the nicest b&b I've stayed at.

The only grip and this is small is that the door was tight and needed a hard pull to shut, a little sanding and that would be sorted. This might be the reason for the noise from a few doors in the morning. But nothing that couldn't be fixed.

The location was spot on. We know the area well so locating the hotel was easy. The accommodation was excellent, the dining room was light and welcoming, tastefully decorated. Breakfast was very good, plenty of choice and varied menu. Always served piping hot and with a smile. Our room was on the 2nd floor which gave us wonderful views of Skiddaw and the surrounding area. There were special touches in our room including a fan, handmade toiletries and fresh milk available at all times. The beds were very comfortable too and the ensuite was perfect. Kate and her team are exceptional, very friendly and knowledgeable of the surrounding area for help in where to visit and where to eat. We will be visiting again for sure.

Stayed for 3 nights at the end of August. Fantastic B&B, lovely and welcoming staff. Amazing breakfast and great choices too. Super welcoming for dogs, Alfie, my pooch got a little welcome pack that included treats and a bow tie, which he wore proudly for the duration. Kate does a brilliant job of running the place, very helpful and accommodating, and can give guidance on restaurants, walks, and other things to do in the area. The room was clean and comfortable with plenty of space for us both and the pup. Lovely enclosed garden space for Alfie to run round in. Location superb, some great places to eat in Braithwaite (try the ivy for something special) and only about 5 mins drive into Keswick. Will definitely be staying there again.

We were greeted by the owner Kate, who was lovely and could not have done more to help, giving advise on local walks and places to eat. There is daily homemade cake you can help yourself to. The accommodation was immaculate and very comfortable, we had great views of Skiddaw from our bedroom which was clean and comfortable, nothing in the B&B felt old or tired. Oh and the breakfast's are fantastic which really sets you up for a day of hiking and exploring.

Only a few gripes, but this would not put us off staying again, so is for information only. The shower was a pain, either very hot or very cold, we tried showering at different times but it didn't seem to help. The property is very close to the A66, so you do get traffic noise if you want your windows open. But like I have said, we would stay again.

The .location is superb . Very scenic views. A very warm and informative welcome from Kate . Lots of lovely added extras that you would not get in large hotels . There is a personal touch that you would not get . The breakfasts are cooked to order , no food sitting for periods of time. Lovely fresh juices , cereal and wonderful porridge also cooked freshly . Kate is very knowledgeable and, beautifully furnished rooms and a peaceful nights sleep. What more could you ask for :) Thank you Kate and Team hopefully be back with Nigel :)

Maple Bank was beautiful, the room was fabulous, bed comfy, the ensuite adequate. We stayed four nights whilst looking around The Lake District. It is a couple of miles from Keswick, which you can walk to or catch a bus from just outside. The view from our room was amazing - of Skiddaw. Kate has really thought of everything in running her B & B. Breakfast was one of the best I have experienced on our travels, you are allocated a time to your liking. The breakfast room was lovely, Fiona was there every morning to help and she was fabulous too. Plenty of choice for everyones liking plus the cooked breakfast was outstanding. There is a small fridge in the breakfast area too where you can get extra milk for your room or use to pop anything you want to keep cold. Another highlight was every afternoon there would be home made cakes for the guests. Highly recommend staying here, you won't be disappointed.

Kate was such a good host very hospitable - gave great recommendations for things to do on a rainy day and for where to eat of the evenings. The Ruddings and the Coledale inn are both within 10-15 mins, nice walk and had lovely food, staff and great views. The breakfast ladies were friendly and efficient and provided excellent breakfast. Beautiful house with a stunning well maintained garden and the room was so homely and comfortable. Perfect location for exploring dodd wood, whitlatter forest, derwent water, bassenthwaite lake, lots of great places.

Beautiful location.Room with a breathtaking view. Kate and her staff couldn't have been more welcoming or accommodating. The house is kept to an extremely high standard. We are definitely returning next year. It's a great location close to Keswick which is a lovely town full of character. There's so much to do and see in the lake district. The house is part of a village, Braithwaite. There is a local shop and pubs, all within walking distance. The lakes are amazing. The people are all very friendly too. Can't fault the house or the area.

That we only booked for one week. We'll certainly be returning next year and for a lot longer.

What can I say, Kate is an exceptional host! The room was clean, tidy and you could see a lot of thought had gone into the little extras, such as the complimentary bathroom products, items for the dog, a vast choice of pillows, fleeces to keep the bed clean, also dog towels and drying coats. The breakfast choice was great and cooked to a high standard and our random request for melon and Greek yogurt for the dog was met with a smile. Kate has great local knowledge and was able to recommend a lovely walk.

Typical UK weather!!

The owners were friendly and welcoming. Information was well organised and clear. The room was comfortable clean and well equipped. Extra thought had been given to providing luxury toiletries and a wide range of drinks in the room and the teatime cake was a definite bonus. There was information on local walks explained by the hosts backed up with printed sheets to take out of the property. The breakfast was exceptional.

The tv in the room was rather small and some sort of sitting area either in or out of the house would have been a bonus.
