The Rest Hotel was perfect! It was so comfortable, warm, thoughtfully furnished and decorated. The bathroom was equally stunning. We'll definitely be staying again on our next trip to this beautiful city

Nothing to dislike about this property

Great room with an excellent ensuite - shower was lovely. Parking nearby was not too far but it is quite steep so take it easy! Cafe onsite was great for a breakfast bap at 10.00am (when it opens) and the coffee available in room was very welcome. Facilities in room which included a kitchenette were really useful if staying for longer than one night. Staff in the cafe were helpful and there were gluten free options for my husband.

If you are kept awake by sudden noises I would recommend some earplugs as there was a loud fan coming on regularly for 15 mins or so every hour through the night that woke us both up a few times. This wasn’t in the ensuite so we assumed it was at a nearby property. Apart from this there was nothing to complain about.

Amazing location, right in the centre of Lincoln's Cathedral District. Charming rooms above the cafe. Clean and well equipped - including a little kitchen with a hob and microwave. Very friendly staff. Excellent value for money. I would wholeheartedly recommend if you were having a short stay in Lincoln.

There was nothing that we didn't like. Just to flag - if you really struggle with hills then the Lincoln Cathedral District may not be the best place for you (the clue is in the name of the road...)

We were staying here for my daughters university graduation and how pleased we were with it too. Our stay here was perfect, from the communication we received to the ease of access, to the beautiful room and bathroom provided. The bed was comfortable, with good quality linen and mattress and all the extras you could need ~ kettle, selection of drinks, iron, ironing board, fan, smart TV ~ basically we wanted for nothing. The owners even returned to the property to leave us extra milk and decaffeinated coffee as we were arriving later and then very kindly removed our suitcase and safely stored them as we needed to leave early too. To summarise, I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel for a stay in Lincoln's beautiful Cathedral Quarter and I look forward to returning here again on our nostalgic returns to Lincoln.

There was not a thing that I could say was unlikable about our stay.

Beautiful accommodation in a top spot in Lincoln at the top of steep hill. The veranda was an unexpected bonus particularly since the weather was for once in British history lovely. Could not recommend this accommodations enough it's a little gem in the heart of Lincoln I'm so pleased I found it. Will most definitely stay again hopefully for longer!

Immaculately clean, tastefully decorated, close to the cathedral and castle and cosy pubs with good food. The staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating. This is a special place.

We loved every thing about it. It was a bit of a hike from the car park, up the hill in hot weather, but this is no fault of the hotel.

The location for the purpose of our visit was perfect …. the staff were warm, friendly and extremely helpful, taking our bags up to the room whilst we enjoyed a drink in the café downstairs. the room was beautiful, clean and the facilities were great with a small kitchenette, small sofa seating area and small table and chairs inside for eating plus outside table on terrace area large spacious well appointed bathroom which was beautifully decorated. everything you could have needed for your stay was provided with iron, ironing board, hairdryer and kettle provided along with fluffy white towels and locally famous coffee and a great and guide book. Extra special mention must go though to the amazing bed !! this was without doubt the most comfortable bed we have slept in for 20yrs or more …..so much so I stripped the sheets to find the mattress make to purchase one for home. we have stayed a few times now in Lincoln as our daughter has attended university there and all in all we can only highly recommend The Rest as the best hotel we have stayed in not just here but anywhere!! 5* and more if we could, many thanks to the wonderful staff who offer a personal touch (like a handwritten note for us on arrival) without being intrusive. We will,from now, on only be staying here for any future visits (some already planned).

Absolutely nothing to not like

Comfortable place to stay when taking short breaks in Lincoln. Hosts great and room excellent.

All these are subjective, but the location is up one of the steepest streets in the UK. If infirm worth considering whether this is the place for you. No breakfast , but the recommendation up the hill at Bells was great. The room had a minor defect in the cistern .

Right by Cathedral quarter, was hard to spot initially and we weren't sure how to get in, however all good. Room was clean, comfortable and self contained and there was a nice little patio area outside the room. The staff were attentive and friendly.

I couldn't open the blind to the skylight so the room was a little dark when we first got there. The bathroom was airy though. I managed to open the skylight however having the blind open would have let more light in. We were only there overnight so no big deal to us.

Plenty of natural light so didn’t have to rely on artificial lights whilst in the room. The room itself was clean, spacious and comfortable, the room was well equipped and we found we didn’t want for anything during our stay.

There was nothing about the property that I didn’t like.
