The breakfast was excellent and the fine view from the widow tables of the cathedral was good. All of the staff were most friendly and the waiting staff particularly helpful. We had a lovely quite room and were not disturbed by any other guests.

The lights by the bed could have been a little brighter to help make reading easier. Although the Dinners we had were good I would have liked more traditional vegetables served with the meal.

I had to change the date of my stay (via Booking.com) and the hotel dealt with this seamlessly. Reception was friendly and efficient. My room was a quiet one as requested. The room was perfectly adequate although the decor was just a little tired. The dinner menu was imaginative and I rather overindulged, but that was my fault. A large noisy party staying at the hotel was quickly moved into a private room for their meal. I had to leave early so missed breakfast but the reception staff was prepared for my early departure so there was no problem in leaving the hotel at 06.30.

location was perfect for the places we wanted to visit, eg cathedral and castle. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially on the one occasion when the lift failed to work. Breakfasts were really good, and there was an excellent choice of healthy and not so healthy. Room kept clean and tidy everyday.

My only fault was that we paid for balcony that we could not really use eg no chairs. There were 3 wedding parties during our stay where with one of them there was an altercation with two of the guests where vulgar language was used. I found this a little disrespectful and had to move from the balcony and close the door. Other small things like no bedside sockets and would have liked a walk in shower.

Great access to the historic centre of Lincoln and wonderful views of the Cathedral. Helpful, welcoming staff, especially at breakfast. Available but unobtrusive. Basic but good facilities iron/board, hairdryer, kettle, shampoo etc Breakfast, plenty and easy to access. Pleasant area. Dinner OK but not special, a bit cold.

Room difficult to adjust temperature, got overheated and stuffy. Air con not working, no fan in bathroom so it stayed steamy. Had to open balcony door and use fan for bursts, which would have been too noisy to leave on. Shower/bath needed handle to make safer access. Shower dripped constantly though couldn't hear it in the room. Some lift noise.

The black out curtains were fantastic. Access to the garden was wonderful. The garden view rooms are a little peaceful sanctuary. Bed extremely comfortable. Nice coffees and hot chocolates. Lovely room. Full size iron and ironing board. Lots of coat hangers. Hotel in general breakfast was good, generally a great hotel we have returned to 5 times now.

Shower took a little while to warm up and wasn't the strongest. Room could use a little TLC.

The hotel is situated at the top of the hill (huge bonus!) directly across from the Cathedral which was amazing, especially as we were there for VE Day commemorations. The room was comfortable, nice bed, loved the balcony especially for cathedral view. Good breakfast and after explaining everything staff left you alone - added bonus for me. The lift worked perfectly fine - no long wait as described before.

The shower wasn't very good, and having to clamber in and out of the bath wasn't very comfortable - I didn't like that one bit. We were in room 314 and the lift was a bit noisy, however it seemed to stop come about 10.30 pm so that was doable!

The staff were very helpful. Breakfast was good.

The hotel seemed a bit tired in places, in the corridors in particular.

This was our 2nd visit to the hotel, the return visit being as good as our 1st visit with a fabulous breakfast, with plenty of choice. The hotel is in a great location in the cathedral quarter. This time we upgraded to a balcony room overlooking the cathedral, the bed was comfy. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. This time we had an evening meal at the hotel which was delicious especially the rhubarb and custard pannacotta dessert.

Dinner menu slightly over priced. Although the dishes were adequate for myself, I think someone with a larger appetite would be disappointed.

Excellent location. Loved the convenience of having onsite car parking that was easy to get in and out of. I’ve stayed at a few places that have tiny car parks that are impossible to use. It’s at the top of the hill, so if you just want to see the cathedral and castle it’s very easy to get to.

Nothing, it’s a great place to stay if you’re in Lincoln.

Outstanding feature for us was location - literally opposite the cathedral we wished to attend for the Christmas Eve service. Eating out on Christmas Day evening could have been difficult, with virtually all restaurants and pubs closed, but very convenient and pleasantly informal meal service was available in the bar, run by a typically enthusiastic member of the hotel staff (sorry - have forgotten his name, but he was great!). Altogether a most enjoyable and memorable stay - and a special thank you for the assistance given by all staff to my disabled partner.
