EVERYTHING!!!!! The front end staff, the bar staff, the room attendant staff were, and are, all TOP NOTCH. The boutique rooms are just lovely. They have everything you need in the rooms and then some including. PRIME and other stations!!!! The property itself is lovely with the bar and a couple of food choices in the courtyard. The location is just PERFECT. The castle is right there, and Bailgate is just an easy walk...Just a BIG THANK YOU to the AMAZING STAFF for an EXCEPTIONAL VISIT! Job well done!! 👏👏👏👏 PS.... It's only .8 miles from the station, but I suggest you not walk it with cases like I did!!! There is also a convenient laundry place nearby for travelers that is fairly priced.
Leaving!!!

Liked the room, enjoyed the breakfast. Staff very friendly, no problem checking in and room was ready. They renewed coffee, milk and tea supplies, much appreciated.
It was noisy from the nearby pub late at night and into the early hours of the morning though. Had to keep the windows open as it was a very warm day and night. There was a fan in the room, but didn't want to leave it running all night. Thought there might be a complimentary cooked breakfast, but it was continental only. That was sufficient however, and was very nice. The chocolate croissants went quickly though, was fortunate to have the last one. Furniture was old & had been well used, was able to put the cooler bag in the dark wardrobe for coolness, as no mini fridge. Didn't realise there were no lifts, but it is an older building.

Amazing location just outside the castle walls. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We opted to stay in a two bedroom suite which was spacious and comfortable. I understand the hotel has been recently refurbished, so the room looked fresh and the bathroom well appointed.
There's only the choice of a (complementary) continental breakfast, but it was good and the staff were very atentive. Although I didn't ask (I didn't see one), I don't believe there's a lift, so if you have a problem using stairs, it might be worth checking with the hotel to see if there's a service lift/assistance available.

Spacious, clean room with large bathroom. Comfortable bed. Great continental breakfast with lots of choice, in a lovely setting! The location of the hotel is excellent. The decor on the ground floor was beautiful - it has clearly been renovated to a great standard but has managed to keep its vintage feel - even has its own bar.
The decor of the rooms and the hallways upstairs was not in keeping with the ground floor. Could do with updating but certainly not awful! There was no lift that was could see so was a bit of a struggle up the stairs with our suitcases (maybe there was one- we didn’t ask to be fair, but they did see us with large suitcases upon check in).

I've stayed before, and it's truly delightful-I always look forward to my visits. The rooms are all lovely, and have good light for reading (always a plus!)-wonderfully comfortable, and everything is thoughtfully provided for.
Um, breakfast? I understand there's no kitchen/restaurant within the hotel, but the addition of some protein sources would be helpful (ie maybe some hard boiled eggs, some good quality yogurts, possibly fresh (not prewrapped) slices of meats/cheeses??). But the atrium where breakfast is served is absolutely beautiful!

You can see how stunning the ground floor decors will be replicated on the other floors in time. I’d like to come back to see how it gets finished. The location was great. The lovely staff, even the designer was lovely. Bed was very nice. Though being short I did have to climb on the high bed. But added to the grandeur of the experience. Tv had all the services so was able to log in to acts and watch tv once back for the night.
Only down side. Was only continental breakfast is all that’s included. Was a bit basic re meats, but nicely set up. And you can order the food from the cafe next door. But felt a bit disjointed and the only negative I could find and even then, it’s not big enough to stop me coming back.

Great hotel, beautifully decorated. We had a two-bedroom suite that was spacious, super clean, and nicely done up. The bathroom was especially lovely with a big bath and a separate shower. The location is perfect—right next to the castle, and you can walk through it to get to the cathedral. There's loads of parking next to the hotel for £10 a day. The area around the hotel is really nice too, with some lovely gardens to wander around. Breakfast was okay—continental style, nothing fancy but it did the job. We had a great time here and would definitely stay again!

The hotel is beautiful. The building is full of character and decorated with an entertaining, individual style. The bar was quiet with a piano that is available for customers to play. The breakfast room was in a really smart conservatory and it's huge and stylish. The staff were lovely and so obliging. There was quite a bit of decorating going on in the hotel. It didn't bother us at all. We did however agree that the owners are making significant improvements. The hotel is really high spec for the price at the moment. I think that prices will rise soon. So, book it now is my advice! A real slice of Lincoln history. Definitely worth a visit! The bonus is that there is a 2 double bedroom room. That two bedrooms that share a bathroom. Great for families or good friends to share. If you haven't visited Lincoln, this is a great hotel to visit the Cathedral and the hay bayles area of the city from. You must do the Cathedral roof tour if you have a head for heights. It's fascinating!
Breakfast options are limited to continental. If you enjoy a fried breakfast, you will not get one in the hotel. We ended up paying around £20 a head extra for a full breakfast, orange juice and coffee in a nearby Cafe. Little bit annoying when breakfast is included in the cost of your room. I suppose you could just eat the continental and not be fussy like me. Not a big enough issue to mark down as I loved the hotel and the staff were friendly. I think it's definitely something to be aware of when booking though.

The hotel was absolutely gorgeous throughout! The staff were incredibly nice, stored luggage for us and made checking in and out easy. The bed was comfortable and the room was nice and quiet. It's not often that you can look out the window and see a castle! We loved the convenience of the location and our tapas dinner at Ole Ole next door was wonderful (reservations encouraged). There were lots of quality options at the continental breakfast (beautiful pastries, breads, sliced meat and cheese, fruit, yogurt, and more). We would return in a heartbeat!
