The building is old and historically very interesting especially the RAF Dambusters connection. The hotel will appeal greatly to those interested in this. The gardens are expansive and very nice. You can have a long and interesting walk around the gardens. The full English breakfast deserves a 10 out of 10 rating. One of the best we have ever had. We had pre-dinner drinks and evening meal on the terrace overlooking the gardens and this was very pleasant. The staff were all very good.

This is an old historic building and gardens. It is a shame to see a small number of the garden structures in need of maintenance e.g. the foot bridges over the streams. However, with gardens of this size I appreciate the scale and cost. This would not stop me staying at the hotel again. There must be very few hotels with such large and pleasant gardens.

The history connected to the 617 squadron during world war 2, the dam busters story, the iconic Lancaster planes ,the bouncing bomb it was all there ,very atmospheric plus a very beautiful hotel and extensive grounds to walk in makes this a special place.

Breakfast was a bit pricey at £15 and not brilliant if you are not down early the choice is limited.We were there just before 9am and the fruit had gone, there was 1 egg ,greasy, 1 hash brown, greasy mushrooms unappetising bacon and sausage the pans did get refilled but people had to wait. The pastries we were told were limited to 1 per guest so if someone took 2 someone else went without. There were none available so we and another couple asked for some but the order was forgotten. If we returned we would not waste £30 on breakfast, we did however get excellent food at the terrace bar in the evening.

The rooms were very spacious especially overlooking the garden. It felt like home from home with easy chairs ect. The breakfast was probably one of the best I've ever had and had too much to eat! The Dambusters memorabilia was fascinating and definitely worth a couple of hours looking round. We've been here before and will definitely be back. Good walks around Woodhall Spa and other old airfields in the area. The evening meal was also very tasty with resonable choice.

The thing that could be improved would be the ventilation. Only a couple of small fanlights were available to open, which made the room quite hot.

Historic Value and very atmospheric especially in the Squadrons Bar. gorgeous gardens with fantastic views from terrace and spent a few hours here as had fabulous weather.

Had an evening meal and ordered the curry of the day, which was supposed to be a korma but apparently was chicken tikka, this is concerning as not made aware of the change when ordered or when the food was delivered. Time taken to clear tables in the bar area was not quick and did not wipe down tables after cleaning. Saw rubbish I.e. dropped napkins everywhere. Only two usable plug sockets in room and none at the dressing table as these were in use. Very hot weather so difficult to place the fan as no air con.

The Hotel is located in lovely settings, open grounds and ideally situated for East Kirkby Aircraft Museum. The Hotel, which was requisitioned for Bomber Command during WW2, holds plenty of memorabilia to those who served in Bomber Comnand, including 617 Squadron, The Dambusters. The Hotel has ample parking space. The rooms very comfortable, and staff very helpful and friendly . There are numerous photos around the Hotel remembering those that served. Nearby at the junction of Station Road and Tattershall Road, Woodhall Spa, is a moving memorial to 617 Squadron, The Dambusters.

Everything was fine, nothing needs to change

There is not one thing that I could write about as everything about our stay was excellent from the time we got there until checking out, we ate in the bar area and the food tasted amazing, bed was comfortable and room a good size.

Breakfast was a bit hit and miss, not enough staff were on Saturday morning and as the breakfast room was very busy we had to wait a while for our pot of tea and toast and on the Sunday morning our names were not down for breakfast even though we paid to have breakfast both mornings of our stay this however was quickly sorted, not enough staff on again due to how busy the hotel was.

I did really enjoy the breakfast. I love that the tables are well-dressed with white table linen and flowers on the table. Also enjoyed the buffet style breakfast with was piping hot and kept regularly refreshed. The room that you dine in has history, and atmosphere, unlike modern places - there really is no comparison, but I realize that this may not suit everyone. We are in our 60s and very much appreciate it. We love the gardens and grounds - with lots of birds and other wildlife. We saw a jaybird, a green woodpecker and a monkjack deer. The trees are lovely too. Outside of the property has been kept well maintained and looks most handsome. Our room was tastefully decorated and had smooth running curtains of a high quality - with blackout lining. Would say that maybe the beds would benefit from a topper to soften the mattress. Was worried may be a little cold and draughty - but not at all, nice and cosy.

The bed a little firm for us - maybe a mattress topper could be offered ?? Shower screen door had a seal which had seen better days and could easily be replaced. However, bathroom otherwise was lovely and clean - as was the room. Carpets generally were well hoovered regularly and looked good. General feeling of cleanliness which is nice.

This is an incredible hotel. It's like walking through history. The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful and the staff are courteous and genuinely friendly. We had a garden room and the view was breathtaking across the grounds. We had a raised seating area where we sat in the evening taking in the view and had a lovely walk around the grounds with its water features. We loved the 617 museum that has been created in the former officers mess. It was really interesting. The room was clean and had plenty of tea and coffee and the bathroom had a range of toiletries.

The only thing we didn't like was that we had to leave. We only booked one night but will definelty be back for a longer visit.

The hotel was clean well decorated warm the staff were very good and helpful the little lift round the corner from our room was brilliant the gardens were lovely even though it is a bit early for the gardening year the food excellent complements to the chef and kitchen staff

The over bath shower was good but the bath was quite high making it difficult to get in it was great to have fresh towels every day. However the fire alarm went off at approx 1 30am there was no flame or smoke no fire brigade the fire instructions were clear and easy to follow so no panic.will visit again

The building itself was wonderful with a fabulous history we were able to explore. We loved spending time in the Airmen’s bar, it would have been nice if it was staffed. The grounds were beautiful, lovely to stroll around.

Sitting on the beautiful terrace was spoilt by the lack of cleanliness (eg used dinner plates, dirty glasses and used bottles) which attracted large numbers of wasps. The waiting staff stood around talking rather than clearing and appeared to lack leadership. The bar staff worked tirelessly. This is the only negative comment we have.
