A really quirky place but I thoroughly enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere and the down-to-earth nature of the landlord. This is a quirky country pub and doesn't pretend to be a modern five-star establishment. It's great value and you get what you pay for; the whole place is rather tired but that's not a problem and I would certainly stay here again. Great location for those visiting Cadwell Park.

Nothing. It was exactly what I was expecting.

I was made feel very welcome when I arrived by the nice young lady behind the bar. My room was nice and clean and the bed was very comfortable and I had a great nights sleep. The carpark is adjoining to the hotel and that's a great plus for me. In the morning I had a lovely cooked breakfast made from really good ingredients by the hotel owner and it was nice to have a good conversation with him. I will definitely book a room when I am back down next time.

I haven't anything negative to say about my stay and nothing to complain about.

Great location (lovely sleepy village but also only 10 minutes from Cadwell Park), friendly staff, great fry up. While the twin room was small (as stated in the description, so not a surprise) the beds were comfortable and there was a good supply of tea, coffee and biscuits. Overall good value for money for the price.

Shower and cubicle were functional but a bit "tired". A wardrobe would have been useful (one wasn't present as there wasn't room for one) but perhaps a slimline shelving/bookcase style unit against the wall at the foot of the bed by the door may be possible to fit for putting clothes on.

Great location if your doing a track day at Cadwell park, just 10 mins away. Made me a brilliant Chicken Jalfresy even though the kitchen was closed, washed down with a pint on London Pride. It's a country pub, don't expect the Ritz and you'll have a great time. 👍

Loved everything about this place the staff were friendly and so was the owner the good is very nice and the owner makes a fantastic breakfast so we'll worth setting off later for 1, the pub is dog friendly so you do get some fury friends coming to say hello and as a dog person I loved this. I will be stopping again

Nothing loved my stay

Friendly, welcoming, and accommodating staff who let me check in early and kept checking I was okay (especially nice as I was a solo traveller). Fantastic location in a historic, beautiful inn. References to Tennyson and Johnson throughout. Infrequent but good bus service from Louth and a 30 minute walk to Somersby, Tennyson's home hamlet. Good food and atmosphere. Very comfortable and clean room.

Bad smell in the upstairs corridor.

Rustic and tucked away- if this is your thing then this is a great place to stay. The following night I was staying on the 14th floor of a city Centre tower block hotel- I wished I was back at the White Hart!

The staff here were lovely, this is a small pub / Inn in a small village in a rural area, yet they didn't mind me rolling in and checking in at 10.30pm after meeting a client in a neighbouring town. Offered me a drink from the bar on entry despite looking like they were about to close up. Breakfast was great - I was offered a full English as standard, but I was still full from a big meal the night before, so the host made me egg on toast and charged me less than the usual breakfast rate. They had a big jug of filter coffee on the go which was perfect as I need at least two cups in the morning. They also had orange juice, cereals etc. My room was perfectly adequate for the very reasonable price I paid.

It was a friendly inn, lots of character and everyone was friendly. Got talking to locals and guests. If you want a boutique style room this is not for you. Best comfy bed I have slept in. Didn’t have breakfast but it smelt good.

An old inn with plenty of character and brilliant staff. A bit old on the carpets in the corridor but that didn’t effect us.

Very flexible - great, charismatic landlord with the loudest laugh in Lincolnshire. SILENT at night, except for noisy Tawny Owl! (lovely) Proper countryside location.
