The pub downstairs is spacious and decently priced, we stayed for a night of local food and drinks and the location was ideal for that. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The price of the stay for free reserved parking and a centrally located room was excellent. The room was big and the bed was lovely and comfy, cups tea and coffee provided.

My only criticism is the noise from the karaoke downstairs but we expected it before we arrived, so it is a very very small negative, it finished well before midnight and instead of seeing it as an annoyance we decided to rate the singers and have a game of 'name the song and band'. The many positives very much outweigh the expected pub noise so we'd definitely come back again.

Spotlessly clean and pleasant and helpful staff. Will gets a special mention! Good value! I would have scored higher, but the website was hopelessly misleading! However would recommend breakfasting at Tabula Rosa about 50 yards down East Gate, which offers a variety of breakfast /brunch - full english, american and healthly options!

No form of catering. No even breakfast! However, the website advertises an extensive menu! No WiFi in the room.

Refurbished nicely since my last visit. New bathroom fittings etc. Good quality linen and towels. Good value in centre of town with good reserved parking for overnight guests.

It is a pub so expect a little late night noise although I was above the bar and it didnt stop me getting a restful early night. On the plus side there is no road noise unlike other options.

Friendly staff and great location. There is parking at the back and easy access to the hotel separate to the pub. Nice big room with twin beds, large TV and a lovely lady who cleans the rooms, makes sure we have enough tea etc. Eating places galore in the surrounding area. All in all a great place to stay.

Three nights of Karaoke across the weekend! The cup holder in the bathroom comes off as it's just placed on precariously.. could hurt if it fell off and lands on your foot. No lamp on the drawers by the TV which makes the area very dark. Pillows were not very comfy but I'll bring my own next visit, these are not things that would stop me from staying again as the positives outweigh the negatives.

Room 3 was clean, and a lot larger than expected. Bathroom was very clean, and the shower was large with decent water pressure. Parking was easy at the back of the pub. You could hear the pub from the room, but this stopped at 11pm. Pub itself was nice, and cheap. Staff were great, with many recommendations for food options in town. Also we were in town for a funeral and the staff allowed us to use the room to get changed in even after checkout. No complaints at all.

The pub is right in the middle of town and close to everything we needed. The staff were really lovely, welcoming and showed us to our room, and we had a very comfortable nights sleep. There was plenty of tea and coffee, and lovely fresh bedding and towels.

(This is for others that may stay here). The room (3) seemed right above the pub so we had music until closing, but we were were not personally bothered by it

The room was large and comfortable. The pub is centrally located. The staff were pleasant and helpful.

There was some noise which would have been difficult for the owners to avoid: beer deliveries in the morning and music from below in the evening (which stopped very promptly). Parking was right next to the hotel but not straightforward to find if you're not familiar with Louth, involving a little detour round a one way system, but once there the management had very efficiently reserved a space for us.

Great central location. Reserved our parking with a cone with my name on which was a nice touch.

One to be avoided if you want an early night as the rooms are above the pub, which has karaoke/disco until midnight. I've read other reviews that said they were told about this on arrival. We weren't, but it stopped bang on midnight so can't say fairer than that if you don't mind waiting until then to get some sleep. Can't comment on whether this is a weekend only thing but I imagine it is.

Easy to locate, parking at rear with a cone to reserve the place. Pleasant team member checked me in & showed me to room.& explained keys 🔑. Room was spacious with a large tv & tea / coffee ☕️ making facilities. 2 single beds in my room.( 3). Nice bathroom facilities. Had a few beers in bar. Slept well throughout night 🌙. Easy check out in morning.

Only problem I encountered, could not get the shower to go past warm, maybe there was an immersion switch or whatever but could not get hot enough for my liking.

We stayed in a family room as that was all that was available when we booked. Nice big room, fresh clean bedding. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Locals also nice and friendly and chatty. Lovely place and lovely atmosphere. Nice beer garden too.

The bunk bed but we were 3 adults in a family room and the bunk beds would be for children not adults. They were a bit creaky and wobbly but we aren’t kid size so probably fine for a child. Everything else was absolutely fine
