The shower in our original twin bed room didn't work, no lever/button to switch it from bath. The staff were very good and upgraded us to a better family room. The beds were comfortable, and the room nice and big. The buffet style breakfast had a good selection

The shower wouldn't work in the twin bed room. A member of staff even tried it and couldn't find the lever. The next morning, one of the the receptionists said it does work, she went over and turned it straight on. We knew that was a lie, as we know how to work showers and that definitely had no means of being turned on. I was happy by the way we were treated until she said that.

This is our second visit to the Angel and I can't praise them enough. We spent the evening there with 30 friends. The hotel arranged a carvery for us all, which was beautifully cooked and absolutely delicious. The bar had a very good range of drinks and all the staff were very helpful and friendly. We stayed the night in a pleasant, quiet bedroom which was very clean and where we had everything that we needed. The bed was extremely comfortable, with good quality bedding. I have stayed in many hotels where I have wished that I had taken my own towels - but not here - they provided white and fluffy towels and include good sized bath sheets. I should like to thank Wendy and her team for their kindness professionalism. See you again next year.

Nothing! - it was all PERFECT

Nice comfortable rooms. Pleasant staff. Quiet location even though on main A32 road. Food was quite good.

Unfortunately for us the food looked better than it tasted, we had the bbq deal and most of it was dry and overcooked due to keeping it warm, the breakfast was the same unfortunately, the eggs were rubbery they'd been in the warmer that long and we weren't last minute getting to either the evening meal or the breakfast. Would stay again but would probably order off the menu for dinner and skip breakfast.

Very reasonably priced and well present on arrival. The staff were straight forward (no false niceties) but very helpful - my device charger wasn’t working and they were very helpful providing a loan cable and plug for me to use. The evening meal was tasty and the breakfast buffet was well stocked, ready on time, tasty and hygienic

My lodge room was quite basic and a little old fashioned compared to modern hotels. Also there was a wet patch on the floor next to the bed/bathroom wall. I forgot to report this.

Lovely setting and easily accessible. Spacious bar and dining area. Nice welcome on arrival. Our room was not within the main building, but in a quiet cabin at the rear facing onto fields. Spacious accommodation with large bathroom. Very clean and comfortable.

One of the bulbs in the bed side light was not working which we reported to reception. The flush on the toilet did not work very well. No pastries at breakfast, but when I requested scrambled eggs instead they were made especially for me and were very good.

Clean comfortable room. Well maintained. Good bed linen and towels. Comforting bed. Tea and coffee facilities. Toiletries. Motel type hotel. Main hotel has comfortable sitting areas and bar. Restaurant serves pub food at reasonable price. Friendly staff.

Lots of Rubbish in alcove near our room let’s hotel down. Someone just needs to clean it out. Main hotel seriously understaffed on our first night. One girl doing three jobs (she was incredible) and a chef - makes owners look uncaring of staff and customers.

The breakfast wasn’t great the first morning as no one told us we could order fresh eggs rather than the old scrambled eggs on the Buffett. Also the image used for the breakfast was far superior to what was offered. However the second breakfast when we could order our eggs was better.

We weren’t told the breakfast times on checking in. There was some confusion with finding our key which wasn’t a major problem but the dinner finish time was 8:30 not the advertised 9 pm and the food was below par.

Stayed for two nights in a family room, and I was very happy with my stay. The staff in reception, bar and restaurant are a credit to this place. Friendly and approachable. The room was clean, yes a little tired but we didn’t mind. Good size with a double and single. Large bathroom, again very clean! Tea making facilities good and access to iron/ ironing board etc. We didn’t hear any noise from other residents, but our room was at the end of corridor so no one walking past. We didn’t try the breakfast so can’t comment, but we had had dinner twice, the pizza was lovely! And the steak was cooked to perfection. From our experience we would recommend.

Was a little dated and tired. Kettle could do with a de scale! Quite warm but fan was provided and used.

One night stay. Personal was very friendly and courteous, room was clean and cute. Bed very comfortable, breakfast tasty and sufficient. Also liked that there was an iron and a board, needed that.

Maybe from the outside presentation of the rooms building it might scare you away a little as in "motel vibe" (even though the rooms look very nice) and the shower isn't made for big people like me but overall it was a warmth, nice stay. Oh and please descale the water heaters. That was the only disgusting thing.

Everything worked in the room- hot water, radiators, sockets, TV, door locks etc. and it was clean and comfortable. I've stayed in plenty of places at this sort of price range where that's not always the case, so it's nice when all that kind of stuff is hassle free. Also, when I went down to the bar/lounge and asked if there was still food available, the kitchen had closed, but the guy behind the bar went had a word with the chef who was still around, and he sorted me out a lasagne and salad, which was very much appreciated.
