It was my 2nd stay at the hotel in 2 years and I knew more or less the conditions to expect: a modest but well run bed-and-breakfast style hotel. The rooms sometimes are small, and the hotel is a bit old, but, on the other hand, you get a very good value for your money: the people at the reception desk are very kind and ready to help, the prices are very affordable (as for London!) and thanks to a nearby Tube station you are just 23min from the city center! What else do you need?! The hotel provides kitchen facilities for the breakfast and dinner, which is very important too if you want to make your stay in the City more comfortable and cheap! In a few words, the 'City Stay' stands to its name and I would highly recommend it to my friends and acquaintances! Thanks for a good job! Sergi +Isabel.

The room could have been a bit larger, but it doesn't matter much! :)

Position and staff, not the most fancy hotel in the world but if you are looking for a place to say in London without spending so much money and you are not so picky is perfect, plus it has one of the best brunch place directly outside the hotel.

The bed was comfortable. There was a good sized wardrobe in the bedroom. The heating worked well.

Our "flat" was at the rear of the property and on the 2nd floor, so there were steps up to the main hotel, a corridor and steps down from the main hotel, 2 flights of metal stairs on the fire escspe and 2 more flights of stairs inside, which was too much because we had 3 large suitcases, 5 medium sized bags and 3 small bags. Apart from a kettle in the kitchen, there were no tea & coffee making facilities. I had to buy coffee, sugar and milk from the garage on the opposite side of Bow Road. I had locked our bedroom door from the inside with the key, which I left in the lock. On at least 2 occasions during the night, somebody tried using a key from the outside to unlock our bedroom door!?!

I was expecting a room with a double bed and ensuite, what I got was like a single self-contained room, including two extra single beds, and a kitchen. Totally unexpected and more than I required.

Shame the ensuite wasn't a little bigger

The location was great for our purpose. We found a great cafe for breakfast, less than 2 mins walk. There were other shops, petrol station and more as you walk into the centre of the city. There is parking at the hotel, but only around 4 spaces. The owner let us park in front of his gate, so that was very lucky for us.

There wasn't anything we didn't like about the hotel. It's not top end accommodation, I wouldn't recommend it for a romantic getaway! But it's a great location and I would stay again.

room with private bathroom was small but well equipped. central heating was really good and made it comfortably warm. the kitchen was an added bonus. location is good and considering all of these things, this hotel is excellent value for money.

1. the reception is open 24 hours a day (I arrived at 2 a.m.) and there was no problem with check-in 2. the location - there is metro station (Bow Church) 5 min from hotel

Fully equipped room with all kitchen utensils and cutleries, plenty of fresh towels too. Bathroom was very clean. Location is amazing as it's right beside the DLR, literally doorstep away

The stairs and corridor looked a little dodgy and was not brightly lighted. Room was really warm and looked quite badly maintained, however the beds were clean which is great

Great location between the dlr and underground. Friendly staff, big rooms, comfy beds, good wifi, hot showers good water pressure too.

This hotel is located close to the centre of London. The hotel staff were helpful and efficient. The room was large and my on-suite bathroom was great. The accomodation was cheap but considering the benefits it represents excellent value for money
