This is a lovely hotel, in a great location. We walked there from Waterloo, and we walked to the surrounding areas easily, such as Theatre Land, Hyde Park, Soho etc., so no need for taxis or public transport. We booked an Executive Room, which was very large and spacious, large bathroom with a full-sized bath, nice sofa, comfy (but firm) bed, lovely matching furniture set, and a good Hospitality tray. Bathroom toiletries were lovely and well stocked. Nice clean, white bed linen and good supply of towels. Lovely view from our room (301), with a lift to the top floor. Breakfast was good, we had the continental buffet, which had a great selection of pastries, cheeses, meats, cereals, fruit, and toast/jams, coffee, tea and juice. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again, and for the price, was good value for money for a London hotel.
The heating wasn't on yet, so it was a little chilly in the mornings, particularly in the tiled bathroom. This is more of an observation than a complaint, and is probably due to the time of the year and it not quite being time to switch on the central heating...we certainly weren't cold in bed or when getting ready to go out. The room was a little 'tired' in places but nothing I would complain about.

The hotel was located about a 15-minute walk from Euston station, and it took about 20 minutes to walk to hard rock picadilly and then about 20 minutes walk back to hotel from aldwych theatre Therefore, the location was great. The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly and very helpful. Our room was an executive room, it was very big with a superior king bed, basically 2 singles put together. It had all the toiletries you would need, and I asked for dental kits, which they sent up to the room. We had a lovely view from our room, 304. Breakfast was a continental, it was very nice. I would've paid to upgrade to a full English, but I wasn't given the option as other guests were. I would definitely ask if I stayed here again. Our room was on the 3rd floor, which was ok for me and my husband although walking up 3 flights of stairs maybe difficult for others especially as the last flight of stairs was steep and almost spiralling with no actual handrail. The lift was out of order at the time. But the concierge was available to carry any luggage. A perfect working hairdryer! And tea making facilities. Couldn't work the T.V, but someone came up immediately to show us after asking for help. Overall, after reading the previous reviews, I was a little worried, but I was surprised as it exceeded my expectations. It's a lovey location and fairly quiet, too. A good stay, reasonably priced in a clean, tidy, and friendly hotel. I would stay here again.
Would have liked the option to pay for a full English breakfast, but I didn't realise this was an option. The spiral staircase up to the third floor is a bit precarious and with no working lift.

My husband and I stayed for years in a hotel across the road from the Clarendon. My darling husband died from Alzheimer’s in 2023 and I decided my first trip without him would be to London, a city we both loved. I stayed in the Thanet last year, but it was a shadow of its former self. I checked out the Clarendon and it looked good. I stayed this year and enjoyed it immensely. It’s perfect and I live and know the neighbourhood. This will be my hotel when I come to London, which I hope will be once a year.
Only the hair dryer failed to meet expectations. It’s the type that usually is affixed to the wal. It had too much air, not enough heat, not good for my hair.

Staying in London seemed rather expensive when looking online and when we found this place it seemed to check all our boxes. A good location, free breakfast (which was basic), a room with windows and a private bathroom. This place had all those things, the room size was pretty good and the bed was comfortable as well. Our room was on the partial underground floor but it still had full windows that opened, just opened to the basement stair area so not much of a view. Staff was nice and helped us with a few logistic things. If you're looking for an affordable place with the criteria we were looking at, this is a good pick.

It's a great location, well maintained, clean and friendly. The staff were very helpful and the room generous. In essence, it delivers on the pictures and the promise so no complaints
Nothing really stands out. It seems to be either a converted grand house, or an old hotel which makes it a feel a little dated, but for London accommodation, it's fine. If be worried if the weather was hot though as it has no air-conditioning

There was more to the continental breakfast than I had anticipated:) The location was great - within walking distance of Covent Garden and other central sights and easy to reach from the Tube - Holburn or Russell Square. When we first arrived a bit earlier than planned, the staff were very friendly in letting us drop off our bags before checking in.
The shower wasn't the best in our room, although it worked. There was a low buzzing noise (generator) early in the morning. This didn't wake me up, but once I was awake I constantly noticed it.

The hotel staff were more than helpful, polite and efficient. The hotel is well maintained and clean. The room was comfortable with nice bathroom facilities. Location is great with Russell Square close by. Lovely cafes and restaurants, Russell Square tube near by. We wanted to see Camden, 35 minute walk or £12 for urber. Very good value for money. Nice, quiet pleasant area. Will stay again when next in the area.
Only compliant was no milk and sugar for a cuppa in the room. Minor issue but I love a cuppa first thing. Very minor compliant as overall all the positive far outweighed no milk and sugar in bedroom.

The location was great for what we wanted out of this trip, just a 5-min to the Russell Square tube on the Piccadilly line. The hotel staff were all very friendly & helpful, we were able to store our luggage both on day of check in & check out with no problem. The room (Executive) was spacious & had all of the amenities you would need. Free upgrade as well which was a lovely bonus as it was a birthday trip. The temperature was easily controlled through radiators, rather than an ac panel. There was absolutely no noise at night so had 2 very peaceful nights of sleep, we did overlook the back rather than the street but the street was very quiet at night also.
2 very small things- the bed was quite hard, probably the hardest I’ve slept in in a hotel. The shower/shower screen could do with being modernised.

Nice to store bags in advance and an early check in. Breakfast was very nice and lots of choice. Big room, comfortable bed and a big bathroom with a bath and shower. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Very close to Russell Square tube and the No14 bus stops outside the hotel.
Some areas of the hotel need some TLC such as stair carpet is coming away from the stairs on the LG level and the corridor down stairs is used as a storage area for boxes, hoovers and cleaning products. Both mornings we were woken up about 6.30 am by people talking very loudly outside our room in the corridor. I think this was the staff as they had a staff room close to our room which was LG07
