I booked my stay late at around 11pm, and I was warmly welcomed by Lumu at the reception. She efficiently handled my check-in, sorted out my room key, and provided a helpful note with all the essential details—like Wi-Fi access and breakfast times. My single room was cosy yet surprisingly spacious, and I especially loved the bath. It was a pleasant surprise not to worry about bringing my own shower gels, as everything was provided. I also appreciated the convenient water dispenser in the lobby. Overall, a great experience marked by thoughtful service and attention to detail. Highly recommended!

The hotel is making efforts to be environmentally responsible with easy access to recycle bins, filtered water dispenser to refill water bottles, reminders of the water use for towels an sheets and bamboo security cards. The Front Desk is situated so that it would be difficult for anyone to slip passed and there were usually two staff members available who were cordial and helpful. The Bamboo security card with QR code provided secure access to the elevator and to the room. In addition to the lovely garden as part of the in-house restaurant, there are numerous green spaces nearby - Russell Square Garden to the north (practically next door), Bloomsbury Square Garden to the south, Queen's Square Garden (one block east) and Red Lion Square and Lincoln Fields are a few minutes walk from the High Holborn Rd and Southampton Row intersection. The hotel is located between Holborn and Russell Tube Stations and offers easy access to the Piccadilly and Central Lines and thus a quick ride to Covent Garden and Leicester Square (discount theater tickets kiosk). Nearby bus stops provide stairway free access to several bus routes (91, 98, 133, 14 among others) and give easy transport to numerous theaters and 10 Oxford and Regent Streets. There are also several very good reasonably priced restaurants within a 5 minutes walk. We found the lamb at Antalya Turkish Restaurant next door to be excellent. For those seeking American fast food, McDonalds and Taco Bell are located between the hotel and Holborn Station. And, of course, the buffet style full breakfast is noted in most reviews to be excellent - and it is. The garden view makes this a very pleasant 'wake-up' event. We found the rates to be very reasonable.

As often mentioned in reviews, the noise level is high. However, the double pane windows do abate much of the noise. We visited during a exceptionally hot period in August when outside temperatures reached 29 - 30C. There is no AC and the room was very warm. However, the rotating fan kept the room comfortable enough so that we did not have difficulty sleeping. (We do live in the Southern US and are accustomed to high temps.) We normally visit London in late autumn and would definitely be happy to have another stay at the Bedford Hotel.

Breakfast buffet was very good and the restaraunt was cheerful. Location was good: very close to the British Museum, two Underground stations, and a small park. Multiple casual restaurants nearby. Street seemed very safe. Our room was at back and was quiet. Hotel was very clean and well-maintained. No steps required; there were elevator/lifts.

As is common in UK/Europe, no top sheets on the beds, only a duvet cover. But we left note for housekeeping, and they would leave us a top sheet per request. Room was very small by American standards, but that was expected. Storage was limited but adequate.

Standard hotel in the heart of London. Clean rooms, clean linens, friendly staff, good wi-fi, housekeeping everyday, big breakfast spread every morning. The best part is the location in central London, just a few blocks from the British Museum -- all the big sights are a few miles in any direction and the hotel is between two tube stops, so it's easy to get around. One in our party needed a disability/ADA room and the staff was very accommodating-- from booking the room to helping us get the room set up when we got there.

Rooms are small, but that's typical for London. The price is also pretty high for the value (what you get for the price is more the equivalent of a Comfort Inn in the States), but again, seems to be the standard for London. The tubs are super high and narrow and the handrails are in awkward places so it's not easy to grab when you get in & out of the shower. The hotel restaurant has a really limited menu for dinner. It can take a bit to get a taxi if you ask the front desk staff to call one for you.

• Staff is very friendly • Room was not cold and had a very well functioning heating system • WiFi works surprisingly well and is quite fast • The room was cleaned daily and well • The room had a large safe, and the houskeeping service also provides an ironing board on demand • The television is quite user-friendly, offering Netflix and YouTube, and has easy access to connect your laptop • Its location directly on Southampton Row makes it a great place for foodies, and is conveniently located near a bus station, a sightseeing bus office, and a short walk away from Holborn Tube station (Central Line)a and a Sainsbury’s (which can quite busy during lunch break time)

• The connecting door in my room was not sound-proofed, letting me hear not just conversations, but even paper getting crumpled, suitcases closed or zipped up, yawing, and the other room’s TV. The room door also wasn’t soundproof. However, I heard practically nothing from my neighbour in the room without a connecting door to mine. • The warm and cold water controls were seperate in the bathroom sink and shower, and worked differently in the sink, making it a bit tricky to control the water temperature. • The bathroom, sink, and shower/bathtub area were pretty small, but okay for me. The shower curtain did cling to my body often tho.

Siobhan was very helpful in providing suggestions in what to see and how to get to places. I can't rave how much of an asset she is to this hotel. Location was great - I took the tube and bus everywhere. It was easy to get to. Facing the garden provided such a nice view and allowed me to keep my window open. I very much appreciated the fan as it was hot during my stay in London. The brita water station was great, as I filled up my water bottle every day before going out. Room may be tiny but it served the function that I needed. The breakfast was fantastic. I very much appreciated the gluten free bread and the staff who assisted me in the mornings. I would definitely come back and stay at this location again.

The toilet paper holder needed to be fixed. I would have loved to have a small fridge to keep some snacks and drinks.

The breakfast being served was adequate both in terms of quality and quantity. But since my stay was a relatively lengthy one (14 nights), I did eventually find the lack of variety in what was served day after day, though good, a bit tiresome. I think it might improve with the introduction of a bit of variety in the menu. But then, I realize that this probably would not matter to most guests whose stay at the hotel would likely be shorter than mine. I should add that despite what some reviews I had read complainng about "noise and poor water pressure," I found no problem whatsoever with either of those two elements during my stay at Bedford. And I concur with most reviewers' opinion that Bedford's location is just great.

1) My check-in time was 2 pm. I arrived London early and I asked woman who is working in hotel if was room available for early check-in. She told me welcome and she did my check in 9 am. Thank you. 2)I was visiting from USA and in room was special charger for the people who have not charger which one is fine for UK. 3) I needed extra towels and I asked them and men who is working in hotel brought me towels in 2 minutes. Thank you 4) And anytime when I needed anything they are doing everything so quickly. Thank you to all staff members. 5)Was very nice view from my window and it was very important for me.

I love how the hotel is just walking distance to transportation hubs, restaurants, souvenir shops and could still be busy at night - which reassured me the area is safe since a lot of people are still walking around Bloomsbury area even if it's already late. Staff in the reception area and Botanica are helpful and willing to assist guests. Room service is exceptional as well - my room was kept clean all throughout my stay. I'd definitely rebook Bedford Hotel the next time I go back to London and would recommend it to others too.

Extremely convenient location. The rooms facing the garden are nice and quiet unless you are unlucky with your neighbours. Everything clean and comfortable and staff exceptionally cheerful and helpful. It was reassuring to know that if I were delayed arriving there would still be someone staffing the front desk at 2am. The other rare and welcome feature of rooms at the Bedford is that the windows actually open. I can’t bear the dry recycled air of most hotels so I stayed here especially for this feature and was not disappointed. Also had a lovely view from the 5th floor!

My excitable neighbour telling all her friends how amazing London was at 1.30am. But this is not the Bedford’s fault!
