We had just come from a truly awful experience at another booking.com listing - 134 Shoreditch High Street, with misrepresented information about what we were to receive, and sadly an abusive owner. Avoid! After this we were apprehensive about booking a room with booking.com again as we had just experienced something truly upsetting. But on arrival at the Mercure we were greeted with a smile and we were made to feel welcome right away! Such a 180 experience! Thank you so much. My daughters throughly enjoyed the large room and pool. There were no booking slots - we could enjoy the pool anytime! And dinner was lovely, just what we needed. Thank you for making us feel so welcome, our holiday was saved.

The room could have done with an update, but we appreciate a lot of old hotels are like this.

I think its fantastic that you are helping refugees from Afghanistan while they are waiting to be rehomed. My heart went out to them, waiting I'm limbo in the hotel. The staff were helpful, food was tasty, it was quiet, great location for Harry Potter and my daughter loved the pool.

Could have done with more teabags and milk since we were staying 4 nights but the staff were happy to provide us with more when we asked.

The staff, they were amazing, Chloe on reception and a lady that did our breakfast with brown curly hair and glasses (25.7.21) were Both exceptional with a great mix of personality and politeness. The was also a Tall Gentleman of colour serving breakfast and he had charm and manners to spare! Overall amazing staff great hotel and an enjoyable stay x

All facilities would highly recommend, breakfast was amazing with a variety. The bonus they have top of the range gym, swimming pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi.

Replenishing towels and toilet rolls on daily basis but when asked did facilitate. No air conditioning in room but they supplied a fan.

Gym was very good, had alot of equipment. Swimming pool was great and the sauna and steam rooms very very enjoyable. Rooms were clean and large. Very satisfied with the experience.

Restaurant was pretty expensive and the quality of food wasn't very high. The breakfast was great however.

Everything in the hotel was clean the staff were very nice the room was decent and clean bedding was lovely and clean bathroom nice and clean white towels that were fluffy and clean.... Location good for Harry Potter studio tour. Swimming pool good

For me personally the bed was a little hard.

Lovely homely comfortable room- pool and spa facilities are great.

Wasn’t walking distance to Watford centre if you don’t have a car with you so had to use taxis which aren’t the cheapest. Recommend Uber as we found the prices cheaper on this.

Location was good

I received a parking Eye ticket once I had got home from my stay even though I signed my car in. The staff did sort this out for me over the phone though.

The staff were friendly, lovely breakfast, clean and plenty of parking.

Not the properties fault as such, but first nice lots of noise in corridors. People running about slamming doors until about 2am

Close proximity to where we wanted to access, friendly staff, swimming pool available if required and bar area. We travelled for my daughters birthday and got a free drink each at the hotel. Thank you for a lovely stay :)
