Perfectly positioned for Elstree studios. Staff in reception (especially Apple) were so kind and helpful and friendly and helped to arrange a late check out etc. bed was very comfy, the windows open which is lovely as I tend to get too warm easily! Breakfast was very nice, usual pastry/cereal options, decent sausages rather than horrid cheap ones were a pleasant surprise. Lovely egg corner to boil your own egg was a nice touch too. There is quite a high step to the bathroom but shower was walk in so easily accessible for guests with mobility issues

Not a criticism just an observation but advertised as air con whereas it seems to be a conditioning unit that just warms up rather than cools the room. Probably not a concern for most unless you’re a lady who gets too hot overnight! :) but perfectly happy to leave the window open

We needed to travel through the night due to work commitments so arrived around 5am, having informed the hotel via email. This was no problem although check in could have been a little slicker. A very quiet room on floor 1 and no disturbance from housekeeping - very much appreciated when catching up on sleep! Location was perfect for going to Elstree Studios.

A few little changes to the room would make it more comfortable. A bin in the room & not just the bathroom. A great full length mirror but no mirror at the desk so had to sit on the floor to do hair & make up. Only bath towels. No smaller towels for hair. No room service & only limited 24/7 menu that could be eaten in the bar area. An app for information was great but didn't allow for ordering food/drinks or requesting housekeeping etc. & no phone in the room to contact reception.

On check-in, I was allocated a room on the north side of the building where it would be cooler and quieter. The room itself was comfortable and clean. The facilities in the room were in good , operational condition.

The check-in process could have been better - the person serving me grumbled that it should have been one of his colleagues dealing with check-in. The price for a pint of beer was shocking, especially when compared to what was being charged at nearby pubs. The lasagne I had for an evening meal was tasty but a bit average and I seemed to wait a long time for it to be served. Most other food venues on the high street in Borehamwood appeared to be takeaways, therefore, eating in the hotel seemed to be the best option.

The location of the hotel was great, bed was comfy and staff could not have been more helpful.

The step from the bathroom into the bedroom was high and really difficult to navigate in the dark, meaning we had to put the light on if anyone got up through the night. Meanwhile we were told upon check in that food wouldn’t be served after 8. That was a problem since we knew we wouldn’t be back until later. As it was we arrived back and found a line of people waiting for the 24/7 food that was available, so I’m unsure why were told otherwise!

We have answered the question 'how was your stay at the Ibis Hotel, Borehamwood' as exceptional because we have stayed at this hotel a few times over the years and we cannot fault it. Although our room is always quite basic, the bed is always very comfortable with immaculate sheets, pillow and duvet, the room is always lovely and clean and the staff stocked the room up with plenty of tea, coffee and milk on each day of our stay. The hotel is ideal for visiting the centre of London. The staff on reception to the housekeeping staff are always so polite and helpful. No problem with parking the car. All in all, amazing value for money and if Ibis keeps up these brilliant standards, we will keep staying to visit our family in the City. David and Karen, Radcliffe-on-Trent, Nottingham.

The Ibis Hotel, Borehamwood has a small car park and it sometimes feels like a race to get back to the hotel for a parking space but having said that there is loads of room at the adjacent leisure centre car park for a £1 a day - so really there is no problem. Around 11.15am we went into the reception area to have a drink and snack (crisps) before we checked out. When we walked into the area, a lady working behind the desk asked where we were going, I said we just wanted to get something to eat (and before I could finish my a sentence) she abruptly stated that breakfast had finished. I tried to explain that we didn’t want breakfast and just wanted a snack but she said there was only bits left from breakfast and it was too late, whilst showing us some used plates. We felt quite embarrassed as this was in front of other guests. We went back to our room, got our things and checked out. The two men who were working when we checked in were polite and helpful so it was a shame that our stay ended like this.

Very good value for money. Staff generally very friendly. Small corporate Hotel that punches above its weight.

Small matter of courtesy and a lack of : I wish that when arriving for breakfast or going to reception, the staff would say “Hello!” or “Good morning!” instead of just demanding “Room number!” Made me feel like a criminal. Also very small matter of housekeeping putting the sheet around the mattress protector instead of the mattress, so the mattress below was bare and I had to remake the bed every day.

I use this hotel when I travel for work and it meets all the requirements I need. The room is spacious (which is very strange for London) and it is very clean. I past travel I tried the breakfast and it very good. Complementary soluble coffee and tea (with also kettle) in the room. Location: the hotel is located in London Zone 6, so if you have to stay in city centre is a bit far. In my case, I worked in Borehamwood so it was perfect, there are also a few restaurants and markets on the street so there is everything you need.

Large comfortable bed, room very clean, comfortable and quiet. Excellent location being walking distance from town centre and also on bus route to town and rail station.

Breakfast disappointing and not a pleasant experience. Very limited choice, hot food not very hot, bacon and mushrooms were cold. No choice of eggs, only scrambled eggs which is horrible and always cold. Everything a route march, plates and bowls in a different place to where food is. Glasses nowhere near fruit juices. I don't like the communal butter and jars of honey, marmalade etc. No choice of spread, only butter.

We have stayed at the Ibis Borehamwood many times and all the staff are so polite and welcoming and they keep the hotel in first class condition from the restaurant, to reception and to the rooms that we have always stayed in. Thanks to the housekeeping staff the beds are always immaculate and the furniture and carpets nice and clean. Keep these standards up and you will always have people wanting to stay - thanks David and Karen, Radcliffe-on-Trent, Nottingham. Note:- We always have a good night's sleep and are therefore ready for a great day out in London, where we meet other members of our family.

It would be better to have a standard type bathroom.shower, toilet and sink instead of a CONTAINED CUBICLE bathroom, shower, toilet and sink. The step down from the cubicle on to the room floor can be a safety hazard, otherwise no problem.
