The decor is eclectic, but really works well. Really interesting and top quality furnishings. By far the most impressive and admirable feature is the attitude and friendliness of the staff. A brilliant team, who most definitely "went the extra mile" to make our stay relaxed and super enjoyable.

The steep stairs were daunting for our dog, Hector, who is 12 yo and not confident on stairs. However, he grew in confidence and also thoroughly enjoyed his stay - again the amazing staff were instrumental in making him feel like a valued guest. "Pet friendly" vastly undersells the care and devotion shown to the four-legged guests.

Great space, very comfy Hypnos bed. Good aircon in the room. Nice outdoor seating area which was nice for drinks in the evening. The food at breakfast was really good. Overall really excellent!

More hanging space would be good. Shower head is the overhead drench type and its missing some of its small rubber nozzles in the shower head meaning the water just dribbles out of the larger holes that are left because there is a lack of pressure. No smarties this time! Also only 3 Nespresso capsules. A few more would be great. Apart from that the room was great.

We liked the fact the staff were friendly the room was clean and tidy and new. Breakfast was very good also.

It did not spoil our stay but the shower in room 6 leaked all over the floor because the shower was defective at the head and spraying water all over the bath room floor. The head is full of hard water limescale and some of the jets have been removed to try and get the flow. Tge flooding is mainly because the glass panel is too short for the tray. Advised the gent at reception and he thanked us for mentioning the issue.

Good vegan option for dinner. Very nice choice for breakfast. Food was excellent. The bar area was lovely with lots of different areas to choose from. I felt very comfortable as a woman on my own in the bar whilst waiting for a business associate to join me for dinner.

Breakfast took a little too long to be delivered. This meant that i nearly had to leave before enjoying it. Maybe a note to the guests advising them that hot breakfasts will take half an hour to arrive will allow for planning their day better. I had a meeting to get to and the wait made what was a lovely breakfast stressful.

The rooms are exactly as they look online, beautiful. It was cosy, clean, the shower was good and they had a good selection of drinks in the mini bar. Convenient to have the pub downstairs and there's lots of places to eat around the area. The staff and customers in the bar were nice too. There's also free parking. I'd definitely stay here again.

The superior double room still has two single beds joined together rather than a king or double bed. However it was still comfy and the bedding was lovely. Better than the plain linen used in hotel chains. Feels like you're in a luxurious space even though it's an inn.

Beautiful hotel rooms, we had a twin & superior double both were comfortable & clean. Facilities in the rooms were great - everything we needed was available. Breakfast was great - good options on the menu. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Location was great for what we needed. Would definitely book again if we needed to stay in the area - very highly recommended.

Lots of stairs to the twin room, but if you inform hotel on booking there are rooms on lower floors so hopefully would accommodate visitors with mobility problems - I am sure they would as staff extremely amenable.

The location was good. You had good restaurants near by and shops. The car park location was easy to get you. You do need the code number for the car park before hand if your going to park your car before going to check in. The room looked really nice. The room had a mini bar and also a selection of drinks on the table like wine, espresso which we didnt go for. The price menu was displayed on the table in your room if you did decided to have something. What I did like about the room was the ice bucket which really did it for me as we had our own drinks and the ice really came in handy for us and the kids. We asked for a single bed which they happily provided. Down side to that was it made the room more smaller to move around especially for the kids. Apart from that it was as wonderful stay after visiting Harry potter studios tour. The bed and pillows was comfy. A/C in the room was good especially with the heat. The receptionist was very kind and helpful and offered to help with luggage to our room. I didn't get his name but thank you very much. The lighting in the room was good. Restaurant and bar was down stairs if you did decide to go for a meal or a few drinks. Definitely would book again if visiting the area or recommend if visiting Harry Potter Studio Tour.

Nothing really. If I was to pick on something but that's just me. The room size was a bit small for a family of 4. We didn't have much space to move around especially the kids .The sofa bed i think is only enough for 1 child so luckily I asked for a second bed which they provided but it did minimise the space in the room.

The location from the harry potter studios was the main reason for booking the hotel , it wasnt a long drive after a busy day so glad we chose this one there was everything we needed resturants cafes shops in short walking distance and a pub down stairs to finish the day off . The staff member who checked us in was very polite, and we had a nice easy check in , the rooms (we had 2 ) in person look so much better than they do in the pictures they do not do it any justice. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms have everything you need couldn't ask for more really! If we ever need to come down this area again we will return. We will definitely recommend the hotel to family and friends

Everything was perfect.

The room was lovely, very spacious and the bed was superbly comfortable. The bathroom was also large and pleasant to use. Location of the hotel is excellent and they provide car parking to guests.

I hadn't realised the room was up on the 2nd floor (no lifts) and I have some minor mobility issues so that was a challenge. I would probably add a note about this to room descriptions. There was very loud noise from the plumbing when nearby rooms used their bathrooms, though not when we used our own!

I liked The Red Lion before the refurbishment, but the new look is terrific. I was the veryfirst person in my room since it was redecorated and that was lovely. Everything worked very well and I had a very comfortable night. The bathroom was great too. There was an iron, coffee machine, kettle...

I'm struggling...but the double bed had four big, fat, new pillows. That was great. But also on the bed were four cushions. No one needs eight pillows and cushions, especially as the room wasn't big. Talking of which, there was a desk and a chair at the end of the bed which tbh, is too much furniture in too small a space.
