Your Pre-Authorisation charge confused me. I've been waiting for a 'refund' for nearly a week. I called the hotel today as I had not received it. Your staff member, I dont remember his name, explained how it worked. The pre-auth charge would have been 'Pending' on my credit card and I remember that it was. But what I did not realise was, that the charge simply disappeared! I only realised it when your staff member explained, and he waited while I checked my Visa statement. Well done him - full marks! But overall, this pre-auth charge is confusing to me and you should get rid of it!

Hotel reception area was spacious and clean. Staff friendly and welcoming and the rooms were clean and tidy. They had all you need for a short stay, a comfortable bed, tea/coffee, place to put your clothes, hairdryer and a bathroom. The shower needed some updating but it was adequate and there was plenty of hot water. The breakfast again was hot and there was plenty to have. There were cereals as well as a full English for those who wanted one. They also had a selection of fruit and yogurts. Dinning area was spacious and clean.

The only real draw back on the room was the very bright security light outside, which even with black out curtains could not stop! There was also traffic noise as well as the odd guest who made a noise. Generally where it is situated these things you can expect, and if you need more silence then I am sure you could be placed in a more quieter part of the hotel.

The room was small but it had been aired and was spotless so obviously got very good cleaners. Close to the centre of Watford.

When my husband got to the property he was told about a fee of £50 (refundable)that had to be taken for potential room damages. He was obviously not happy with this so the staff explained it was visible when booking but I would suggest its needs to be A LOT MORE VISIBLE for 2 reasons. 1- Staff should not have to deal with explaining this to customers when they arrive, their job is hard enough. 2 - If on a tight budget then £50 taken from your account that you do not expect is not good. I understand them taking deposits as some people will damage rooms and not want to pay but it needs to be MORE VISIBLE when booking. Shame as the rest of the stay was good and this prevented me giving a 10 as its a big thing that spoilt my stay, left a bad taste.

The place was so beautiful. Its not modern but they have made sure all the facilities are there for a traveller to come and stay peacefully. It's a shame I did not get a chance to enjoy their breakfast. May be next time. I checked out very early morning and the person at the reception was extremely helpful. He voluntarily offered a cup of tea and some biscuits. Very kind of him. Would love to recommend to anyone. Just few minutes walk to Watford train station. So very convenient

Umm....i do not have to say that i did not like!!

Good location bed comfy, staff were helpful and quick to deal with any issues communal areas were kept very clean and tidy breakfast items made fresh.

Bathroom tired and in need of an update, was given a room for someone needing accessibility, which we did not need and found unless you had very long arms you couldn't reach the toilet roll from the toilet, taps had lots of limescale and a bit of black mould around the very tired bath. Bath inadequate if you need accessibility, would need a separate shower.

All staff were more than helpful and happy to do this . Every area of hotel was perfectly clean. A little tired carpeting in downstairs entrance hall to disabled rooms but excellent service from everyone and can't wait to be able to use their service again. Thank you to (I think he was called Emmett or Emile but not sure) but never the less,all staff were more than happy to help. Thank you to them all .

Only 2 draught beers to choose from but I understand why as it probably doesn't need more with their kind of trade. This hotel was only minutes away from a very vibrant busy town center very long high street with plenty of shops .

The breakfast, which was the same every day, if could be improved and more items could be included in the breakfast buffet

Location is great, close to overground train station watford high street, atria shopping centre is close by with lots of great food choices. Safe presence in this area . Parking was great behind the property we luckily found even in the evenings when taking car out. 10 min drive to warner studios great location for that. Staff is lovely and very attentive , always willing to help with anything needed. Quiet and cute hotel , has outdoor smoking area .

Bathroom needs upgrading and needs a little TLC, bathroom door was jammed and was not closing. Windows have condensation.

The location was excellent, within walking distance of the train and many restaurants. The bed was comfortable and although the bathroom was dated everything seemed to be maintained well. The staff were friendly and quick to bring towels, milk, tea etc to the room on request.

The breakfast was absolutely awful, we were so glad we hadn't booked it for every morning. (We had paid for one morning on arrival to try it) My advice is book the hotel to stay but go to the local cafe's for breakfast. There were 2 of us staying in the room yet on arrival and each time the room was cleaned we were only given 1 bath towel, we had to call reception on 2 occasions to get a 2nd towel. This isn't a big issue but it was a bit strange that 2 bath towels weren't provided as standard.

The property was very clean! We were greeted with a warm welcome with a lot of informative information.

The only thing I would change about the property would be the bed, we booked a double room however we received two single beds pushed together which caused only a slight inconvenience as the beds were still comfortable. The bedroom itself was very modern and had great facilities! The bathroom looked slightly outdated but still clean so I can’t complain! Complimentary biscuits would also be a great option, but the tea and coffee selection was great.
