The setting is really beautiful, especially walking over the the main house and seeing the back garden with the view of the water fountain etc. Bed was really comfortable and hotel was very clean for us. Breakfast was included and a good selection on offer. the level of cooked changed across our 2 day stay and we preferred the first day. We also booked dinner for our first night but we ate in the bar as there was a private event on where we assume you would usually eat - dinner was good and the servers were lovely. All the staff were really lovely and helpful, good atmosphere in the hotel.

The bathroom fixtures and door were really needing replaced, the toilet flush kept sticking in and could see all the plastic, the back of the door is all busted up and had exposed holes from old hooks etc. just updating those 2 things would make a big difference. Whilst close to the WBStudio it is a fair walk unless you’re willing to get a taxi & Public transport is limited once you leave Watford and get to abotts - it would be good for the hotel to include this information so it’s easy for guests since that’s the main attraction of the area.

I'd stay here twice before, and once again it served the purpose.

Other than that I couldn't use the pool this time round due to health and safety reasons on the hotels part, which I hope they get rectified soon with the height of summer upon us. Two of the four light buttons in my room for some reason didn't work, and I was often forced to use the light switch closest to the door. The only other snag, which was beyond my control, was the noise level right above my room with special events going on during the evening that I was unaware of as I was having early starts during the last two nights of my stay which kept me awake. Again not the staff's fault, just noisy revellers.

Well I've stayed here four times before already and once again it served the purpose for me. Compared to the last time I stayed here, I got to jump back in the pool (though of course I wish I stayed in the pool longer than I did, but of course I had to checkout and it was checking out day), and I got to try out the Bar for the first time after a long day at work and I certainly needed a cold drink on what had been a hot day (weather wise) whilst at work where I certainly needed something more than just water. I hadn't intended on having breakfast this time round, but after my swim I just fancied it and so grasped at the opportunity for it and once again it was worth it (though definitely wouldn't mind trying the dinner again in the near to distant future).

Well aside from some noisy guests on the floor I was staying at during my first night as I was having an early night and wake-up for work the following day which obviously can't be helped. But hey not everyone can know exactly what other guests are doing without someone kicking off nowadays. The only real downside was that the Safe wasn't working, as whoever had stayed in the room I was in had left the Safe door with the locks open on the outside and so you couldn't shut the Safe door properly or even enter one's own code. Thankfully I decided to keep all personal belongings with me than chance it, but not the Hotel Staff's fault - just a Careless Guest to put it mildly (unless the safe was faulty beforehand with them).

Stayed in the Manor house, which was really neat. I'm NOT going to write anything negative about this place, BUT I will say that it definitely felt like we were on our own most of the time- the check-in desk is separate of the Manor house and there isn't much staff present over where we were. It was also obvious that some renovation work was being done on (what might have been) a reception desk at the front door of the Manor house. Some windows between the 2 rooms we had needed some serious work. I get the feeling that with some more investment (wall art and period decor for hallways and rooms) and this place is gonna be even cooler. Morning breakfast was good. Regardless, it's location to the Warner Bros. Studio was perfect. Would totally stay again.

Location- beautiful grounds, picturesque, easy to get to from motorways Parking- plenty, free and safe Staff- friendly, welcoming, helpful Meals- Christmas lunch was superb! Breakfast had gluten free and dairy free options, wide variety of cooked English or continential options. Dinner in restaurant or bar- great choice of meals from Italian pasta / pizza, Asian curry, English fish n chips and American burgers Personal touches- we all got Santa stockings! Amenities- swimming pool Rooms- comfortable, clean, able to adjust temperature, tea and coffee making facilities provided, quiet No pets

No gym Rooms getting a bit worse for wear- some rooms need a maintenance overview. A quality control/ maintenance person should go round picking up little things that need repairing before they become big repair jobs- paint and wood peeling in bathroom door in one of our rooms, tap connections loose in another room, chipped tiles in bathroom in another.

We had a truly wonderful stay at this hotel! The location in the picturesque Hertfordshire countryside was absolutely idyllic—like stepping into a serene bubble where time stands still. From the moment we arrived, the friendly and helpful staff made us feel welcome and well taken care of. The highlight of our mornings was the delicious English breakfast, which was fresh and perfectly prepared. It added such a comforting start to each day. This hotel is a perfect retreat, and we can't wait to return in the future. Highly recommended for anyone looking to relax and unwind in a peaceful and beautiful setting!

That said, despite the excellent service, we would love to see some improvements in the technology offered. Our TV couldn't connect to the internet, and the issue remained unresolved during our stay. Adding smart TV features and ensuring internet connectivity would make the experience even better.

The staff at reception were lovely. I had asked if they could do something a little special as it was my boyfriend’s birthday and they made the room lovely I thought it was so cute. We had balloons, rose petals and a cheesecake with a happy birthday chocolate message. The room (superior room) was amazing it was huge and the bathroom and shower was great. We both said how amazingly comfy the bed was and both slept great. We had such a good stay we were contemplating staying another night! The grounds are also so beautiful and in such a great location for other areas.

A few wears in some places of the room but nothing to complain about and the room was clean which was the main thing. The room got a bit cold but heaters were provided so can’t fault anything really!!

great value for money, comfy beds, aircon, nice big shower, very clean, friendly staff, 5 mins from the grove where we were attending an event, couldn't believe the price tbh, very good value, great breakfast for £10, had a nice swim in the morning before breakfast - pool is a great temperature and clean

pool area/changing rooms could do with being updated, if they were then believe the hotel could charge more. The bedroom doors are a bit noisy when they close so it woke us up when people were leaving for work at 7am but was no bother really.

The location was perfect for what we were looking for and easy to find. The grounds are pretty.The staff were lovely too. Breakfast was brilliant. Definitely a win. The main heating in the room didn't seem to work - or if it did we couldn't make it work. Thankfully, there was a portable heater available in the room which warmed the room up quickly.

By night, it was bit noisy - some sort of motor going on and off outside? Dinner was okay but overpriced for what you get. The room was fine but there were stains on the curtains and the TV remote was visibly dirty. The portable heater was very loud.

Hotel was clean, well designed and festive (we went just after Christmas). Staff were friendly, the amenities were great. Food was awesome. Lovely sized pool. Rooms spacious and comfy, had a nice big shower and room was well equipped (towels, hair dryer, shampoo, body wash, etc). Great location for Harry Potter World, 20-30 min walk, very easy, follow road, cut through by co op and go to front entrance.

Rooms were too warm, hotel should provide an extra fan, rooms need coat hooks on the wall by the mains door. The corridors were cold. Pool needs updating. The grounds could do with some TLC.
