I really liked the warm welcome from the staff, the decent people working there makes all the difference to a place. The decor was as you see in photos (so many places have out of date photos and I have come to expect the places to be tattier than they look in pics, therefore this hostel exceeded my expectations as it looks clean and new compared to other hostels.) The little patio space makes it feel like a holiday and it has fresh air but is far more temperate in a heat wave than other outside areas. The kitchen is nice and well equipped. Free coffee and tea. Friendly safe atmosphere and one of the reasons for this is staff policy of zero tolerance of creepy sexual behaviours or assaults etc. They are very on the ball with this sort of stuff and the place reflects that with the good vibes atmosphere. The bathrooms are modern and spacious wet rooms which is far more relaxing than many of the cramped spaces in some hostels. Bed was comfy. There were big fans to keep air circulating in the room. The street has a quiet majesty to it due to being right across from the British Museum. It is so central yet so peaceful and safe at night. There's a hostel guitar to play!! :)

A guy in my mixed dorm was letting the door slam repeatedly- going in and out like a flippin yoyo in the morning. I would prefer if hostels in general started adding signs to stop guests from letting the heavy fire doors from slamming loudly behind people when they go in and out, as people are on different sleep schedules. The rare places that have signs telling people to be quiet if others are sleeping have a culture of better rest and sleep for all. I wish this was standard to have a sign. This is a general thing though and not specific to this hostel.

First of all congratulation to Astor. I am very happy to stay in Astor. I will always stay in Astor. Staff good. Specially place to keep luggage. Light on bed. Charging mobile availability electric switch on bed very good.

Only one thing. Please make a little more gape between uper and down bed because it was too difficult to sit on between two beds. Sometimes a human being sit and sometimes lay down on the bed. It is not possible to laying on bed only all the time. Please do not follow the other hostels. Your standard is your and will be your. God bless all of you. May you live long and always happy and get a success in your business always. Greetings to all of you.

Excellent location; a five-minute walk from the British Museum and a ten-minute walk from the Tottungham Court Road tube (metro) station. Good cage-style lockers under the beds; large enough for a 65L duffel bag. My room had a sink in it which was very convenient. The bunks were comfortable, each having a dedicated outlets, reading light, and shelf. Bedding was provided and towel-rental was very reasonable (a few GBP).

I didn’t realize that the hostel has two properties; approximately three-minutes walking distance apart. I was in the second property. The second property was excellent, I simply didn’t know it existed or that I’d be staying there when I booked the hostel. The primary location houses reception, the lounge. the kitchen, and laundry facilities. The second location has full bathrooms and showers though, so this isn’t a big deal. The keycard grants access to all common areas mentioned above, regardless of which location.

Set within beautiful Bloomsbury neighbourhood in a peaceful part of London, Astor Museum is a Georgian mansion which provides perfect accommodation for educational holidays close to the British Museum. From ancient stones to modern communications and art, Bloomsbury is a location with stories to tell. The hostel is perfectly positioned for accessing some scenic walking routes nearby with excellent local and national public transport links. Explore famous locations like Covent Garden, Oxford Street (the Selfridges, John Lewis), a leasure walk from High Holborn to Waterloo. Astor Museum has comfortable, airy rooms (ask for upper floors), a beautifully equipped kitchen with an outside sitting area, cozy living room (has a potential to have an outside patio as well), clean bathrooms and absolutely amazing, fun and warm hearted stuff, that could be a perfect cast for a new TV show. Special thanks to Mr. Giles Beattie - his emotional intelligence, hard-working attitude and impeccable manners for sure make him a super valuable accet to become a General Manager of any 5* hotel. Ask Tristan about New Zealand and London theatres, Alex - about Australia and hiking in Richmond, James - about trendy London clubs. The ladies from the stuff are just pure love and care, always checking up on your comfort and needs. The Manager will provide you with an astrology insite every Wednesday during his famous evening workshop. There are many other events for everyone, too. Enjoy!)

Yes, smoking must be allowed only across the street.

Loved the warm, fast welcome to get my keys and info about the place. Enjoyed the convos with the hostel mates there. Made new connections. Loved the simplicity of shower and bathroom usage. Loved the location as it’s close to a university nearby which made walking at night safe. There’s parks nearby to chill and walking to Big Ben and London eye were 25-35 min stroll, not bad. This was all my first time experiencing hostel and it was a great experience! The staff were welcoming and kind.

Some hostel mates were ignorant of my presence. Totally ok with that. But a “hi” would be nice. And the bathroom on my floor was used a lot so I had to wait which was a close call couple times haha 😆Other than that, this was an amazing place!

beautifully warm welcome, exceptional staff who were Always friendly and polite and willing to help, even if you did just see them around the building. The whole place was clean and the location was amazing! The twin private is top floor but great for your cardio vascular :)

I read a UK review from 6th March and I had the same. but don't think it was a fan. The room is next to bathroom with 2 showers, toilet and sink. whenever the shower or sink was used (a lot) it sounded like a hand dryer in your room. maybe a water pump thing? it made the same noise using the sink in your room. if you're a heavy sleeper you should be ok.

Stayed at Astor Hostel Museum and honestly, it was amazing amazing amazing! The staff were super friendly and always down for a chat or to help out with anything. The vibes were just right—chill, social, and welcoming. The place was really clean, which I appreciated a lot. They keep the rooms and common areas spotless. the location? Perfect. It's literally walking distance to all the main attractions, museums, and cool spots in the city. Made exploring so easy. Totally recommend it if you're looking for a fun, friendly place with great energy and the best crew around!

I stayed in a basic 4 bed dorm here, and it was good for my purposes! The staff are helpful and friendly, there's a community feel, and the reception is staffed 24/7. Comfortable beds, helpful staff, immaculately clean, great location.

Because I'd booked in a basic rate I was in the annexe building a 3 min walk away, which I hadn't realised would be the case, and this does back onto a construction or refuse site so I was repeatedly woken in the morning by the very loud sound of shattering glass 😅 Sidenote: there was also a French boy in my dorm who hit our nostrils with SIXTEEN spritzes of aftershave/cologne this morning instead of doing that in the bathroom, so it felt a bit like a fever dream.

Team was super nice and sweet, always super helpful! Location is perfectly centered, you get around in London pretty easily. The kitchen is well equipped and breakfast options available, I don't know if I timed it differently but I didn't have to wait to get to showering. Unfortunately my own schedule didn't let me take part in the hostel activities, but the offers are great especially if you want to connect with people.

Can't really complain about anything, it's a Hostel after all, which seems to be forgotten by some guests. You do end up sharing your room, so yes, people can be loud at night. Haven't been to any previously though, so I was kinda positively surprised.

I had such a great experience in there, it was my first time staying in a Hostel and I couldn’t have asked for a better place, the staff were amazing, super helpful and friendly they really do make you feel at home! Shout out specially to Heitor who mainly served me, really friendly and soft soul. Place was clean and guest were all very nice and respectful, common area was specially really nice cause everyone just chats if that’s the vibe and if not they just do their own thing, it all works really really well! Will definitely come back next time I’m in London x

Nothing bad to say about my stay whatsoever
