The Bedford at Balham was a lovely stay. We absolutely loved the style/decor of the rooms - it lived up to the photos that are posted online. The building, at least our room was located above where the above ground train passed by and it does pass quite often, we were initially concerned that this would disturb our sleep. My husband is quite a light sleeper - we BARELY heard the train when it passed by which was so impressive, they really thought through the sound proofing well. Finally, messaging the property was so convenient. We needed a quick breakfast suggestion in the morning and they replied so quickly.
Honestly, cannot think of any downsides here.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Bedford balham. The room was unique and clean. The bed and the pillows were incredibly soft and comfortable. The location is nice as well, it’s right next to the tube station, so you can easily move around. Balham itself is nice to explore too, lots of cute pubs and restaurants all around. It can get a bit noisy at night but that was to be expected, so it didn’t bother us at all. The staff were very friendly and explained everything to us clearly, despite them having to work at the pub at the same time. Unfortunately we didn’t have enough time to spend much time at the pub connected to the hotel, but from what we saw it was lovely as well.

This venue is exceptional for the cost. The food is traditional 'pub grub' with a modern spin. The rooms are newly renovated and are very luxurious. The venue itself often has events going on, and a really friendly pub atmosphere. It is a short tube journey into the centre of London, and easily commutable from kings cross via both underground and overground trains.
Restaurant was very busy on the night i stayed due to a steak night promotion. I ate in my room but found it a little difficult to carry my food & drinks myself as there were no trays available. This really is the only negative, and up to now i've never had any trouble getting seated in the restaurant.

The room was very large by modern standards and comfortable. Bathroom was very spacious. The codes to get in and out, or use the lift were all easy to use. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Happy to store my luggage. Lots of cafes or restaurants a short walk away. Easy trip from there to Clapham Junction or Victoria.
My room overlooked Balham station but it wasn't too noisy and ear plugs (which I did not use) were available. If you love trains maybe it is a bonus. It is an old building so things (doors, lifts, floorboards) creak and groan a bit, but hey that's London!

Great place, great location fantastic staff, nothing was too much trouble. Such comfortable rooms, ace pillows. Perfect location for my trip reasons. Special thanks to Martin in the bar who definitely went the extra mile. He is always working and his kind smile never slips. I would definitely recommend 5* from me.Also an added bonus live entertainment for free if a hotel guest and was a great evening two nights on the trot.
Only downside for me too many stairs but there is a lift so no major problem and if you’re a smoker no dedicated area to sit out of bar hours to have one. All this said I would definitely stay again ace visit and thank you all at the Bedford.

Great location, literally a few minutes walk from the tube. Although this is a pub/nightclub/events place you wouldn’t know when you’re in your room. Very quiet and comfortable. Bed was really comfortable.
Not a dislike but FYI, The rainfall shower head needs some attention, the water was stronger at one side than the other. Being an older building and rooms at the top of the building means it does take a while for the water to drain in the shower.

Classy and far removed from typical London hotels and tourist traps. Touch of old school travel but still recognizably in London and well connected to transit. Strongly recommended, especially for comedy fans staying on a Friday or Saturday night.
Beaucoup nearby options for breakfast, but don't expect it on-site. Multiple nearby bakeries serving impressive coffee and breakfast from 0700, and myriad good weekend brunch options for late risers. And if sensitive to noise... It's over a pub with a comedy stage, live music, and a cocktail bar with DJ. Keep your noise tolerance in mind if you won't be shutting the place down before bed.

We liked the room very much! The bathroom was huge - we had a big tub and also a big shower. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel is near the subway. And the host very very nice and helpful! We arrived early and it was no problem to leave the luggage at the reception until check in hour, while we went visiting the city.
I can't think of anything honestly. Some guests said it was the noise because the hotel is also a pub/club and has concerts and loud music. But the rooms are on the floors above and you don't hear that much noise. We didn't hear at all because our room was pretty far.

The room was really spacious and had a roll top bath! Tea and coffee provided, and shower gel / body lotion etc. Clean room and very comfortable beds.
Very noisy room - expected there to be some noise given that it’s an evening venue (and ear plugs were provided by the hotel), but it was REALLY loud even with ear plugs until the music stopped at 2am… luckily I didn’t go to bed until 1.30am but would’ve been very disappointed if I’d wanted an earlier night

The hotel decor was amazing. Staff were very good and helpful. The comedy club at the hotel was great and the atmosphere in the pub at night was brilliant and the music didn't keep us awake, we slept well!
The cleanliness in the bathroom could have been better, there were lots of dirty marks and splash marks on the tiles and the walls were thick with dust in some places. The lack of cleaning in their really let the whole room down. The sheet on the bed kept coming away exposing the mattress and we were surprised that there was no mattress protector on the bed. In between the bath and the curtains there was a bar of soap and a plastic cup from previous guests and no bin that we could find in the room and no bin bag in the bin in the bathroom.
