The value paid for this room and location was a plus. There are not many options in this area, so I was happy to have found this hotel. I was traveling alone to visit family nearby, so I did not need a ton of amenities in my hotel choice - just a nice, clean, safe hotel, with a nice bed to rest at night, and it met this need for me! Hotel also has a restaurant and bar and serves breakfast in the mornings for a fee if you choose. It looked nice, though I did not need this option.

Rooms are small (but this is London outskirts), and I was traveling alone while visiting family in London proper, and not planning to spend anytime in the hotel room, so I was OK with it. Bathroom and Shower are very small, even for 1 person.

Where to begin !!! The staff here are the gem, the girls on reception, at the bar, breakfast area - just an absolute gem of a group of lads and lasses. From the moment I liaised with the young lady on the front desk to get extras via the telephone, to the moment we left after 5 nights, we were treated impeccably and the guys are a fantastic team and enjoyed their company also. The breakfast is absolutely fantastic also - the time stems from 8-1pm which I have never seen before but just to be able to relax away from the rat race and know that when you rise without an alarm breakfast is still waiting, is brilliant! The location to Leyton tube is great - ten minute walk if that and the central line there meets with every other line - the staff at the tube terminal are great for advice of where to change etc. Price wise, we like Moretti and this was £5.75 a pint, which is similar to Liverpool so we were more than happy with that too. The rooms have fantastic views and are very spacious (we were in 308) and the cleaners were the most 'on the ball' cleaners I have ever come across - leave for breakfast and room completely redone by the time we went back up to the room. I honestly cannot praise this place enough - the staff are just the exponential icing on the cake and a credit to the team/family - Thank you, we cannot wait to come back and see you guys!

Air con in the room took a while to cool room - was great when it did, but did take a few hours.

Room was clean and comfortable. Staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast excellent, 'The Turk' is an absolute feast.

Parking was difficult. The hotel says it has parking, but there are only about 5 spaces and none of these were available on our arrival. We were able to park, with difficulty in a local street but this was resident only parking from 08:00 so we had to move the car early the next day. When available parking in the hotel is charged for.

I liked the price and cleanliness most of all. The room was a basic basement room with two single beds. It was not over heated as some hotels are so great. Comfy bed. Location was great as close to where my family live. Good location for tourism too as central line so close by.

The extractor in the bathroom did not work. So very steamy after showers. I reported this and it was noted.

A lovely hotel, less than 15 minutes walk from the train station. Double room was small but very well equipped. Delicious breakfast included in our stay, but had to pay extra for tea/coffee/fruit juice, which should have been included in the price. A great location for concerts at the London Olympic Stadium, and we'd definitely stay at this hotel again if attending other events there.

Would have preferred a hand-held shower rather than just an overhead one. Cost of breakfast should have included drinks.

Good size bedroom and very nice breakfast

Breakfast wasn’t served until 9 am which we felt was a little late and meant everyone came at the same time. The curtain in our room didn’t shut properly and so the sunshine woke us up very early. We mentioned it to reception and it was slightly better on our 2nd night but still not mended completely

The hotel was very clean, modern and light. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. The rooms had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable. I didn't hear any noise from other rooms/ the corridor. The food was great. We had dinner (chicken shish was very tasty and some of my party had the chicken avocado wrap which was also really good, and huge!!). The breakfast and coffee were great in the morning as well!!

There wasn't anything "bad" about the hotel. We booked a Small Double, and it was on the small side. But that's exactly what it's advertised as, so we had no complaints!

Great hotel! Friendly, helpful front of house staff, room was clean and organised. Easy to check-in and out and close to the station.

I'd have preferred a standard showerhead instead of the rain shower but it was great nonetheless and that's just personal preference.

This place is a great find. I don't know the area very well and I knew I would be out late, alone, so it was important to me that I felt safe and welcome. The Lion and Key exceeded my expectations. All the staff were wonderful, the food was excellent, the room was large and clean. A great place to stay and only 10 minutes walk from Leyton tube station.

Nothing, it's fabulous.

Our room was on the top floor and had windows on two sides -- and you could even open the windows -- so much less claustrophobic than most London hotels. Plenty of space; comfy bed.

The water had so much softener in it we were advised not to drink it by hotel staff: not helpful in very hot weather. One pillow was rather hard and lumpy!
