I booked my parents in to Astala Lodge. The lodge has been renovated within the last month so super fresh and clean. Steven was most welcoming on arrival. My Parents had a lovely stay and were well looked after. Car parking right outside and free. What was extra special was they gave my parents a bottle of bubbly for me to congratulate me on my crossing North Channel. (Thank you so much) Astala Lodge is a short walk from the marina. I actually think you could nearly see the infinity boats. I would highly recommend staying here as a swimmer or for family members.

The view from my room, top floor overlooking the harbour was beautiful and if the sun was out it could have been anywhere in the med. The walk around the harbour in the evening was a bonus. The landlady, Julie, was extremely helpful and went out of her way to assist me with something that she didnt need to but it was no bother

My only wish would have been to have a roll or little half baguette with breakfast to go with the ham and cheese selection

Location was excellent for the harbour and places to walk. The staff were very friendly. Lovely space to sit for breakfast and to read outside, weather permitting.

The lift was out of order, which was difficult for one of our party members. The room was smaller than expected due to clever photography on the site and was not as modern. There was no cooked breakfast on offer, which again was not highlighted at the time of booking. Although there were bar facilities on site, it was not open at night, which would have been nice when returning and allowing for a drink to be purchased to take to your room.

Everthing is perfect, nothing to say..

This place exceeded our expectations. Beautiful place to stay. Situation was perfect. Only a 5 minute walk to centre. Beautiful walk along the sea front to the beach as well . We took our bikes and cycled into Crawfordsburn as it was such a lovely day. We also went to the great bars up the street in Bangor and just a short walk back again which was great as we didn’t need a taxi. Breakfast was lovely. They don’t do fry’s which suited us perfectly as we enjoy fresh ham and cheese etc. Room we stayed in was lovely and clean and just such a lovely place to stay. I don’t usually write reviews but I had to for this one. HIGHLY RECOMMEND and will definitely be back

We stayed for one night. The room was immaculate and very comfortable. Walking distance to the town, 2 minute walk Julie was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. We will definitely return if that direction again. We would recommend to anyone visiting the area.

The location was ideal, 10 minutes from rail station, lovely views of marina. Comfortable beds, Julie was very helpful put our friends and us in rooms next door to each other, offered to change rooms for me as when she knew I had arthritis in my knees she was worried I would struggle with the low bed. The staff were very helpful, lovely choice of breads/ cereals etc for the continental breakfasts. Nothing to fault, would return again and would recommend.

Nothing to dislike, the rooms were a good size, plenty of drawers and wardrobe for clothes.

Well what can I say about astala Lodge apart from we were delighted with are stay. Were greeted by Steven on arrival. The room was absolutely amazing views stunning looking over harbour great en suite shower. Breakfast was excellent full continental. Relaxing place just to chill and have a cheeky whisky lol. What really did make are stay all the better were the lovely couple Julie & steven excellent hosts great laugh. Friendly. We ended up booking an extra night we loved and stay. And most definitely be back in the summer for a catch up sitting outside with are hosts. Thanks for are stay loved it. Cathy/stevie.

Beautiful location. Close to town centre. Parking available. Clean, airy, bright room. Good facilities. Pleasant helpful staff. Appetising continental breakfast. Will visit again.
