My husband and I stayed for one night at the start of our trip driving along the Antrim/Causeway Coast. Walter’s Place is well-located along the waterfront and a short walk from Carrickfergus Castle. Street parking can be found directly in front of the hotel which is quite convenient. We were in the Sapphire room on the top floor with a view of the water. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable; we both had a great night’s sleep. Dinner and breakfast can be had at Ownie’s next door.

Not a problem for us but note that there are a few flights of stairs to reach the top floor.

Was lovely and clean beautifully decorated, bed was incredibly comfortable.

It was New Year’s Eve so expected that the Bar was going to be extremely busy, but didn’t like that we had to walk through the bar and out the back to get to our room, as we had to fight a crowd to get to the room and getting past the door staff was quiet hard as well trying to explain every time we went to re enter the building that we where actually staying their. Would definitely return at a quieter time to be able to avail of the restaurant as well as the kitchen closed early. The breakfast was beautiful and all staff was very helpful.

location was perfect for starting our drive on the antrim coast. we arrived dinner time saturday and parking was a bit full but we found a spot. do make a reservation at ownies if you plan to eat there, it was very popular! we ended up at mayor indian which was fantastic (thanks to the staff for the rec). the pub is also very popular in the evenings and will be loud until closing at 1am on weekends. we enjoyed a bit of the fun but were also ok to head to bed without too much interference in the back apartment. but if youre a light sleeper with an early start make note.

the room and decor were great and i know its tough with coastal weather, but a bleach spray for a bit of shower mold would be easy.

Beautifully decorated and quite unique, it was also very comfortable and in a great waterfront location. We were disappointed by not being able to make breakfast as we were leaving for the ferry, but this was more than made up for by the takeaway BLTs prepared for us by the chef. We ate at Ownies the pub next door and had a lovely meal and evening with live music. Would definitely stay there again.

Breakfast starting too late to make the 10.30 ferry from Belfast.

The rooms were lovely - spacious and we all liked the decor, most unusual. We had planned to explore other places to eat in Carrickfergus but the food in "Ownies" the bar next door was so good that we ate there every night.

For a bar that did such wonderful evening food, felt the breakfasts weren`t up to much. Plenty of it, but yoghurts, bit of fresh fruit and a tomato and/or mushroom in the cooked breakfasts would have been nice.

The room was clean, modern and well appointed. We ate dinner and breakfast in Ownies Bar which is part of the hotel. The food was delicious and service was good. When we checked in Jack was friendly and helpful. He showed us to our room and where things were. He also took a booking for dinner. A great front of house member of staff

No car park for the hotel, but we had no problem parking directly outside the hotel on the road.

We were on a wee mission in Carrick, stranded inlaws kind and found Walters Place on booking.com. We have been to Carrick many times and have actually spent time in the bar before but didn't know Walters was there. The room was spacious and very clean. Breakfast was very nice. The staff were good craic too. We will definitely be returning. Can't complain about anything.

There was nothing we didn't like and would just say that the fry needs beans 😉

We loved everything. From the shower to the comfy bed. I truly enjoy the routine of housekeeping and how thoughtful the staff is. If you are travelling with children, Ownies Bar and Bristo appear to be pretty crowded at night, but the sound isolation from the rooms is pretty good. Live music was a plus! Breakfast is offered here, and I was impressed that after a long night, it was perfect in the morning. Delicious breakfast with traditional bread. We also had the opportunity to eat dinner here, and it was fantastic. The location is another bonus: easy parking, seafront, close to the castle (we walked there). It's close to Belfast and not far from the airport with a car. We absolutely want to come back!

It was separate from the bar. Rooms were huge and clean. Great views. Very central. Breakfast was lovely.

Breakfast was served in the bar after 9am. Had to miss breakfast one morning as we had a booking outside Belfast at 10:40am. Didn’t realise that booking restaurant for evening meal was only option. Pub was empty but waiting time was over an hour for food.

Spacious, clean room. Had mostly everything we needed but I think for the room price individual toiletries (both shampoo and conditioner) would've been appreciated. The shower gel/shampoo combo isn't great on the hair! Next door to a pub so expected some noise but it wasn't too bad. Staff were lovely, breakfast was good. Location is great with a lovely view if you have a front-facing room. Decor was a bit chipped/tired/dated and the ripped wallpaper by the entrance door needs replacing.
