The staff make the hotel.. exceptionally warm welcome, so professional, so friendly and some brilliant personal touches. Can’t praise them enough. The room was clean, bed was comfortable. Hotel is in easy reach for Belfast and to tour the Co.Down area. There’s a good restaurant onsite, I’ll put this comment here as it’s not a dislike but certainly need to look into offering Lactose free products rather than just plant based. And maybe have a supplier for non pork bacon and sausages to enhance breakfast.

Heating was a bit poor in the room, although that won’t be a problem in summer, and the shower was disappointing, I like really hot water to the point of being pink when I get out, but i suppose it’s to avoid being sued by the litigious people we have amongst us.

Few small things 1st breakfast we didn't get black pudding 2nd breakfast we didn't get bacon Wasn't an Issue and I'm certain if we asked for it we would have got it. Breakfast items lifted dead on 10am. This is when breakfast is finished but if you're still eating it feels like you can't get more orange juice etc if wanted. Again if you ask it wouldn't be a problem.

The staff were the highlight, great customer service especially those on reception and the bar, day or night. It was easy to request a taxi or timings for the restaurant or drinks or adjustments (provision of extra towels). The restaurant food and breakfast were great and worth attending. Staff were accommodating to my delayed check-in. The room, cleaning service, room items, scenery, location, ease of access to Belfast city were all as expected (which was good!)

A minor issue, the first night of the stay after checking in around 11pm, there was no hot water from the shower. This appeared to resolve the next morning without subsequent loss of hot water. I did not address this with staff at the time due to wanting to sleep but i'm sure they would have resolved this had I mentioned it.

Beautiful setting. Comfy beds. Excellent housekeeping. Great breakfast. Mostly very helpful staff.

Only very minor suggestions according to personal taste. - would’ve liked a fridge in the room - would’ve liked some bath gel not attached to the wall (made it a bit difficult to use) - one staff member at breakfast was slightly less than enthusiastic at being asked for some fruit.. it was 9.50am to be fair but as the room was still full of people and some had recently arrived for breakfast, I didn’t think it was an unreasonable request. Other than that very minor incident, the staff were wonderful.

The welcome we received on arriving at the hotel was exceptional, the staff in all departments were friendly and polite and couldn't have done anything more for us.The breakfast was absolutely delicious. The dinner menu is really good and portions big.The hotel is in a quiet area and easy accessible from the main Belfast to Bangor Road.This is our 5th time to stay in the hotel we have never been disappointed with anything.

Everything is perfect although a walk in shower would be easier than having to step into the bath.

It’s the people. The staff are so friendly and efficient. I don’t know how the management/owners manage to instil such a spirit of helpfulness and camaraderie in their staff. Fun, jokes, humour.

We didn’t “not like” anything. The 8/10 is because there’s no pool or spa etc, and to get a 10/10 we suppose that high ‘facilities’ bar would have to be met. So for what the place is, and 8/10 is a 10/10!

A very comfortable hotel with excellent facilities in my spacious and comfortable room. I liked the coffee machine. The iron and ironing board were useful too. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast included was very tasty. There is a nice bar and function area downstairs. I was there for my aunt's 90th birthday meal, held there, which was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The hotel is basically in the middle of nowhere between Bangor and Newtownards, which might be a problem if, unlike me, you had to rely on public transport. On the other hand, that gives it a pleasant rural location.

Professional and friendly staff who are attentive to guests when dealing with them directly but also in indirect interactions. We always feel "welcome" in this hotel and sense that all staff are proud members of the superb hosting team. The standard of food is excellent and service in the restaurant is professional without stuffiness or excessive formality.

One slight issue is the lack of charging points in the bedrooms. Also the heating was set rather high with no way of setting it lower - that we could see.

Nice place but over priced.

My mistake, I booked the wrong night so ineffect, I was a ‘no turn up’ and was subsequently charged. I arrive the following night(day) to be told I would have to pay for a second night. I don’t think that was very fair as I had been told they had spare rooms the night I didn’t turn up and fortunately they had rooms on the second night. I did get a good rate on both nights thanks to Booking.com not the hotel ! Being an independent hotel I think they need to look at their public relations, attitude.
