We didn’t have breakfast, wanted a lie in, plus we were having a surprise family lunch for my sisters birthday at 1 p m , so saving selves for that! Unfortunately, we had a fire alarm go off at 8.15 a m ….was a false one, but, then went off again 20:mins later. The last time we stayed here was at the beginning of August, 2024, for my mums funeral….the fire alarm went off at 2.15 a m and we all congregated outside for a head count , for about 30 mins. There seems to be a problem with the fire alarm system. The staff were all very nice though.

Fire alarm problem. Plus, I had emailed hotel ahead and asked if possibility of checking out at 12, rather than 11, because of family lunch at 1. I was emailed that would be fine. However, cleaners weren’t informed and door was knocked on at 11. Cleaners were very nice though…said they hadn’t been told. We left our room at 11.30.,Obviously communication problems .

The Bull Hotel have their own Chefs, so we had a superb dinner freshly cooked in the evening. The room was lovely. All olde worlde furniture. The enormous bed was very comfortable. The double shower was superb. In order to get to our room, there was a small landing, and on a plinth stood the old aluminium bath of yesteryear. That brought back memories of our childhood. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was served once again by a Chef. Our manager was very oblinging and couldn't do enough for us. He made us very welcome.

Everything was excellent

The rooms are very large and rustic very in keeping with the building. but due the shape of the room the shower had mould all over the ceiling and I found the water cold and the only heat was I. The shower room so found it cold in the room I also found it quite noisy due to having wooden floors soon as anyone moved around upstairs the noise was quite loud with is a shame. I am making it sound I wouldn’t stay again we would due to the proximity of family that live in the town. Choice of juices at breakfast was poor and found the breakfast voices ok but asked if they had cereal but they don’t serve. continental was ok I do feel the prices of the rooms are a little high.

Location in fabulous for us as my whole family live in Olney the staff serving in the restaurant and checking In Were fabulous smiley happy to help worked hard.

The breakfast was very hearty or light per your choice. The ambiance was inviting, warm, and well thought out. Noreen, Chris, and Cole were especially pleasing, nice, and accommodating. Both of their chef’s are on top of their game, and the overall experience delightful.

There were times when I needed to study, but it was noisy, but I just had to wait for the bar to close. On my last night I think there was home sort of issue as I kept hearing loud banging long after closing which is 2300. It appeared to originate from the enclosed area. Unfortunately on my last morning, I was unable to enjoy a hot breakfast as I was told there was an issue with the stove. I was disappointed as I went without breakfast for several days as I had other engagements to attend. However, all I was going to get that morning were pancakes and bacon and I can get that anywhere.

Good design and practical use of space and extension of original property. Very helpful and pleasant staff. Excellent location . Very comfortable and welcoming.

Car park very difficult to fine- needs much clearer signage from main road . Excellent cooked breakfast but no other options ( cereal, yogurt etc) . Original building seems to have no insulation between first and second floor creating a disturbing noise issue. However ground floor ( pub) and first floor insulation very good!

Shower was in front of bed which was a bit strange but I understand that they need to make the most of the available space in an attic room

staff were friendly, helpful. Room was beautiful. 4 star facilities for a fraction of the price. We had both an evening meal and breakfast, both of which were perfect! Beautiful town. was a revisit for my wife, who lived in the Hotel as a child.

Limited parking. Petty, but the curtains. The ceilings are very high. the curtains are floor to ceiling, and heavy, so most of the curtain rings were unattached. Easy fix attention to detail, plus customer gets a better night's sleep.

Great pub with rooms. Friendly, helpful staff throughout. Comfortable bed, pleasant room, good choice of food at dinner and very good breakfast with a chef who knows how to poach an egg!

Poor communication. No answer to 3 phone calls, no response to answerphone message and three days to reply to email request with no apology for delay. Come on guys you are better than this! Personal service begins at first contact.

The room (No 12) was very spacious. The beds were very comfortable and you had everything in the room you needed. The breakfast was excellent. I also liked the fact that because of some of the original features you could understand why the room was called The Stables.

Although it was good that the room was on the ground floor the disadvantage of this was that we were disturbed with quite alot of noise up until about 11pm as people were in the seating area just outside the room. The other issue was the 1st night was exceptionally hot as both radiators had been left on and there were no windows to open. We switched them off and so the 2nd night was definitely more comfortable.

Dinner was very tasty and the dining area has been well thought out and is pleasant to sit in. The breakfast was good for choice though might have been nice to have a cereal choice as well as cooked plate. The room we were originally booked into had a defective shower but on being unable to rectify this the hotel immediately placed us into an upgrade room. Staff were very friendly, attentive and helpful. Would happily stay here again.
