Super comfortable, very large bed. Spotless bathroom. In fact everywhere was spotless. The building itself was lovely, particularly the courtyard and breakfast looking out to the river and gardens. Staff were charming and efficient - all staff, from reception to bar. No wait to checkin or leave. Liked the peaceful location outside the madness of Oxford in summer - 15 minutes to Westgate to park in the evening.

The Ryanair style extra charges. £7.50 to park our car(!!!) in the hotel car park. £18 flat rate breakfast. You need barista made coffee if you're going to charge this and an extra £3.50 for anything cooked fresh. The most expensive croissant and vending machine coffee I've ever had.

An excellent experience. As a seasoned (business) traveller, I can state that this has been one of the best stays in recent years. What a wonderful hotel. The building is charming, with a cosy and luxurious feel. Parking is easy and spacious. Check-in and check-out went smooth (very friendly lady). Room was spacious, with a comfortable bed and two cushions, a nice balcony - and nice personal touches. Silent airconditioning and very clean. Wifi was good. Nice bar and lounge area. Friendly staff all around. Swimming pool was nice and well-arranged. The gardens are very nice, mostly due to the riverbank location. Food was good too and breakfast excellent (very well made and lots of choice). If I were to visit Oxford again, I would for sure come back.

Very peaceful location close to the river bank. Plenty of open space to walk, sit and relax. Room was well furnished and comfortable. Swimming pool, spa and gym was clean and well equipped.

The only thing to let this hotel down is the main Napier restaurant which is very much like a meeting room with a few cheap dining tables scattered around. For a hotel of this price and status it was quite surprising and disappointing. Absolutely no ambience, it reminded me of a budget hotel restaurant in Benidorm. The lounge bar in the old part of the building was much more welcoming and had a luxury feel to it.

Amazing hotel, beautiful buildings and grounds. The rooms were spacious, modern and well equipped. Lovely pool and spa treatments were excellent. The food and service in the restaurant was also excellent. The staff were wonderful and went over and above, nothing was too much trouble. This includes all staff but particularly bar and restaurant staff and also those on reception and in the spa.

We had a wonderful stay but If I’m being really picky, a coffee machine in the room would have been good. Fresh good quality coffee being served to your table in the restaurant instead of machines. Robe and slippers for using pool etc. would have also been a nice touch. The only other thing is having to pay for parking when there is so much room in the grounds. I find this strange as we spent a lot of money on this trip both the rooms, food and drink and spa treatments. You expect parking to be free. We did know about the charges beforehand but I feel This policy should be reviewed.

We booked the least expensive room which wasn’t small but very comfortable, a full complement of teas, coffees, biscuits.. very clean, nicely designed, very comfortable bed and pillows.. very clean bathroom. Staff were polite and friendly, common parts placed at random locations nicely designed, as was the lighting. Dining room and staff excellent, I wanted a soup different from the evening menu menu and it was found without any fuss, they really try to go beyond expectations.. I look forward to staying again. As much as I tried to think what could be better I couldn’t think of anything..

The reception staff were amazing, Heet was great, service with a smile nothing was a problem for him to deal with. I took my elderly mother for some time out. Heet was very polite, caring and attentive. Emily was great on helping us on the phone. Both a credit to your Hotel.

Made to wait after dinner to pay for a bill, that had already been paid for as part of our package. My elderly mother and I felt like criminals, my mum is 82 and we were told not to leave until this was sorted, even though I asked to go to reception to deal with as it as so embarrassing in front of the other guests. It turns out the Hotel made a mistake! And our meal was part of our pre- paid package.

From arriving to leaving, everything we experienced was excellent. The staff on arrival were most welcoming, explaining that they had received my request to be close to facilities due to my mobility probems, and had got us a room close to the resturant but explained that there was a wedding that day/evening at the hotel and the reception was also being held in close proximity to the restaurant and therefore our room. We were given the option to change but agreed that it would be ok and it absolutely was fine as we were not disturbed at all. The room was fabulous, clean and very spacious with two comfortable chairs as well as a further chair at the desk/dressing table. Everything you could need, safe, small fridge, tea/coffee etc and a huge flat screen tv. Bed was very large and extremely comfortable. We ate in the resturant in the evening and t\enjoyed out meal. The menu catered for all tastes and price ranges. Breakfast was absolutely delicious with a vast array of goodies including cereal, fresh fruits, yoghurt, cold cuts, cheeses, full cooked breakfast, bread, toast, muffins, croissants etc. I used the pool and spa area which was lovely with easy stepped access to the pool. Changing area and showers were clean and well kept. Did not use the fitness suite but it looked good. There are lovely grounds leading down to the Thames. Staff in all areas of the hotel were excellent throughout our stay. The hotel is a short drive from Redbridge park and drive which gets you easy access to Oxford without having to take the car in centrally. Can recommend a visit to Oxford Castle & Prison as the tour is very good. All in all a fabulous one night stay and needless to say we are already planning a longer stay so we can explore the area more thoroughly.

Nothing to dislike.

Wow! We absolutely loved everything from the comfortable beds and linen to the stunning setting and manicured grounds on the river. The breakfasts and food from Napiers was delicious and the staff were very friendly, helpful and hospitable. We loved that we felt that we were in the middle of the countryside but were minutes from Oxford. The indoor swimming pool and sauna was such a great added bonus as well as the steam bath and even tennis courts. Our whole stay was incredible and we loved every minute of our time there.

Nothing at all!

Breakfast was very good. Room was spacious and the facilities were very nice. The staff couldn’t be more helpful and polite. The entrance, bar area and reception is stunning, mixing the old barn with touches of modern decor!

We ate dinner in Napiers, we knew it had only just recently opened up with a new menu. They were very obliging and very apologetic- but the food did not meet expectations and was very pricey for what was delivered. We did complain about our mains - steak and the bbq pulled pork burger,(the ham hock starter was lovely), to which we were offered a free desert. The offer was taken up and the desert was okay.

The hotel is great. The room was lovely and clean, and the swimmign pool was also nice. The best part was the breakfast though, there was so much choice and it was all very tasty.

When we arrived, we were given a room, but when we opened the door it was clear that this was someone elses room although luckily they were not present at the time! We went back and explained to the staff who upgraded us due to the problem. It was fine in the end, but could have been very awkward if someone had been in the first room when we opened the door.
