Loved it. It ticked all the boxes. Loved the hotel position, accommodation and staff. Beds comfortable, big. Carpets nice to walk on, clean. Furniture dated very serviceable, fits in with the building. Bathroom enjoyed good shower. The fan worked well extracting the steam. We had a wonderful view. The warrior The hard hub for busses, ferry to Gosport, LoW train station. Close to Brittany Ferries etc Gunwharf quays shopping The Naval base and museums. Taxi stands. Bus station. Breakfasts really nice cooked to order. The restaurant really nice clean tidy attentive staff. Loved the chairs they were heavy and solid. Also coffee tea cereals fruit drinks fruits toast etc. Free car parking. (we were able to park the car and use all the transport options. All staff very helpful and assisted whenever, we saw them very friendly.

The staff were always friendly and helpful. The location was perfect, opposite the bus station and a few steps from the historic dockyard. Despite its location, it was very quiet. We come from a rural area, but we found it very restful and easy to sleep. The room was comfortable, and the bed was enormous. The private parking was such a bonus. There are hardly any vehicles in it during the week, but quite busy at the weekend. Spaces aren't very long, so they're a bit of a tight squeeze in a big van at weekends. There's ample public parking nearby. There's an onsite restaurant, but we only used it for breakfast. There's a vast selection of eating places nearby. I liked that there was a small table and stools in the room so you could eat in there if you wanted to. The room was clean. The bathroom was huge and clean. So much history to see on the doorstep. The restaurant is gorgeous, the nicest part of the hotel. The breakfast was good.

The tv signal is a bit dodgy, but we weren't bothered as we were too busy enjoying our holiday! The shower screen seal at the bottom needs cleaning. The carpet could do with cleaning. The duvet was a bit lumpy. The shower pressure is poor. We were on the top floor though.

The hotel location is excellent. It is across the road from the port, ferries, train, and Gunwharf Quay outlet mall with its activities, shops and restaurants. It is safe and secure with a private car park which is locked at night. The staff are very willing to please and nothing is too much trouble. I feel lucky to have read the reviews and trusted that this hotel would be a good choice for my visit. The hotel is not modern yet my room was newly refurbished, spacious, quiet and comfortable. It was spotlessly clean and the shower was huge. Towels are large and bedding is clean.

Absolutely nothing. I knew what to expect based on the reviews. The value for the price paid was exceptional, should be acknowledged and appreciated.

The location could not have been better for the Isle Of Wight ferry, the Historic Dockyard and our National Express bus to Heathrow. There are also several eating options nearby and a nice Japanese restaurant in the hotel. The bathroom was huge by comparison with our other hotels. Breakfast was good.

The staff appeared quite offhand, not at all friendly. Our shower was terribly difficult to adjust to the right temperature and the pressure was not good. Even though the bathroom had been nicely renovated, there was no hanging space for towels or even hooks. The room had no pictures or other form of decoration, making it appear stark.

The breakfast was lovely. Location was great. Very attentive to needs.

We had 2 breakfasts at the property on a 3 day stay and our friends had 4. We were charged for all breakfasts to our room stating we owed £83. Breakfast was £10 a day or £8 if staying at the property 6x8 is £48 for one and even if they had charged full price it would have only been £60 so not sure where they got £83 from. However it was all sorted in the end and we paid the £16. It was a bit embarrassing as people were waiting to check out. I don’t understand why they found it so confusing??

The hotel was perfectly situated for exploring Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight. The harbour boat tour was fantastic and we enjoyed walking about the harbour. There is a free pass to walk about and go in the pier building 4 if you don’t want to spend a full day going through each ship and museum. Breakfast as great each morning of our two day stay.

It was a bit less charming than the pictures depicted. However we were out and about most of the time anyway and the bed was comfy, the breakfast was great and it provided in room tea and coffee with kettle.

The Location is Perfect. The Hotel is very nicely decorated. The Staff are always very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are good value for money and there is a good choice of items from the buffet and also a very nice cooked breakfast. The bathrooms are very modern. The rooms are very well serviced. The hotel bar is staffed all night.

Unfortunately, on this visit I had a room on the lower floor which was adjacent to some sort of fan motor which I could hear running at night. I could also hear extra motors starting up early in the morning (presumably from the kitchen) Also overlooking the side road where the HGV's parked whilst making there deliveries - so even more noise.

Breakfast was great. The beds were comfortable. The location was excellent. The front desk was very accommodating. Bottle water and coffee in the room.

Housekeeping was spotty. There are no service room signs or do not disturb signs for room The mattress pad had blood and urine stains on it. Housekeeping did change the mattress pad the following afternoon. Not right when was reported. They clean the coffee cups in the bathroom sink rather than give new ones. I had to ask gir toilet paper our room was not vacuum once in a three night stay.

The location was excellent, right near the harbour. The staff were friendly and polite. The room wasn't completely spotless but still in good condition. The bathroom was excellent and had lots of space. The room I stayed in was large, but the beds and pillows were too hard for my liking. The cooked breakfast was made on demand and was good.

Although there was a lift, there were still steps in the building when moving between some corridors. People with a disability should enquire before booking.

Breakfast was very good as was our evening meal in The Captain's Table restaurant at the hotel. There was free parking in a small car park at the side of the hotel and we were allowed to stay until 2pm after checking out, which was helpful. The hotel is ideally situated for visiting the Historic Dockyard, Gunwharf Quays outlet shopping, and the Spinnaker Tower and it is only a short walk to Old Portsmouth. The train, IOW ferry terminal and buses are opposite the hotel. There was daily room service. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.

The carpet had a few stains/marks but had been vacuumed - some spot cleaning would have given a better impression. The bathroom was modern and clean but lacked hooks / enough rail space for towels.
